Say what you want about Bethesda, they make great dungeons.

Pretty much the title, they really knock it out of the park with their dungeons.

Be it the dunwich building, the hallucination vault, Jamaica plains, or any number of unique and fun dungeons. Just about all of them are great and I don't have much more to say about it.

One thing I love about fallout NV. i dont get criticized for carrying any junk. I hate hearing "leave that junk behind" or "your gonna slow us down carrying all that junk around"

What is your favourite Fallout quote?

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 12:55 AM PDT

Can be from any of the games. My personal favourite is "Hey, chin up. I know the night just got darker, but it won't last forever", said by Nick Valentine.

i.... like the dima memory puzzles

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 03:13 AM PDT

first off, just an opinion and i understand why people don't like it. i don't LOVE it with all my heart but i thought it was a neat way to use the settlement system and was nice to have something non-combat in fo4 instead of another 'shoot everything to win'. i get they can be annoying but they seem a little bit overhated to me

Have Shoulder Mounted Weaponry for Power Armour

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 06:11 PM PDT

I'm sure most people in this subreddit have played Fallout New Vegas by now, and some of you may recall a weapon from the Lonesome Road DLC called the Shoulder Mounted Machine Gun. I was thinking, why wasn't that made an option for Power Armour? For instance, instead of having a BoS member walking around with a minigun that's from a ruined bunker or torn off a vertibird, have a similar weapon that's attached to the armour, reminiscent of the guided rocket system from the Anthem gameplay reveal (they aren't using the design anymore). Imagine a squad of BoS knights patrolling, but one of the guys is geared up in power armour and has a heavy weapon like a Gatling laser or missile launcher attached to the armour, so the armour is taking the weight rather than themselves. All they have to do is pull it into position or perhaps activate something in or on the suit to deploy the weapon. It'd show the BoS or whatever other faction that would have steady access to that level and quantity of tech seem like they're still progressing with designs and tech rather than being stagnant and hoarding tech for hoarding's sake. Just imagine seeing a unit of power armoured soldiers strolling the wasteland with regular weaponry, but have these heavy weapons rigged to the armour for those dangerous encounters. Any thoughts on this idea?

Fallout 4... Just a small question

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 03:36 AM PDT

How can Kellogg be more or less the same age when he dies as when he kidnaps Shaun and Shaun grows from a baby to an old man during the same period? There is probably a very simple explanation for it but I can't find it and it annoys me a lot.

Is it just me or is Deacon the best Fallout 4 companion

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 06:50 PM PDT

Now you might be questioning why I'm saying this, but hear me out. So first off his strength is great he also has a good base gun, infact a great base gun. He has a pretty good companion perk. Also, he is just hilarious in my opinion. His personality he perfect, hilarious funny anything like that. Beat companion.

Fallout 4 crashes anytime I’m in a city with enemies nearby

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 04:00 AM PDT

I'm not really asking for advice, more a rant at how annoyed I am with myself lmao.

Im on Xbox one and a few years ago downloaded a lot of mods for settlement building and I tested the game out around each settlement and it worked perfectly, just a bit of lag while building but in game there was no lag.

I decided to do a new playthrough. Spent hours building up sanctuary and decided to go to diamond city. Everythings great getting there, no lag, nothing. Got piper and now on my way to grab Nick.

Everywhere in the "city" I go is fine until a group of raiders of super mutants appear. If I engage with a fight my game freezes and I need to quit it.

Worst part is I have no idea what mod does this. All I've got are settlement mods, cheat code mods and character creation mods.

Gonna try to just sneak around the cities and hope for the best lmao.

Which F4 companion deserved their own dlc?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 11:20 PM PDT

Or kinda like how Nick Valentine can play a major part in Far Harbor. Which companions would you have liked to have more development had Bethesda made more story dlc for Fallout 4?

Me personally, I think Bethesda could've given more depth to Preston Garvey by adding a storyline that would give you the chance to take back Quincy for the Minutemen. It would take his settlement quests to the next level while also giving some background on Preston and maybe other Minutemen characters.

Fallout 5 Faction ideas I have:

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 01:55 AM PDT

Black Knights - Former US Government led by what is now known as a High Knight. Originally meant to be a part of The Enclave, their Bunker's communications with the Oil Rig were severed during the Great War. They collect Technology and use whatever they can to help the people of the Wasteland. They use their tech and knowledge to help grow Cops, purify Water and defend Settlements in exchange for a small portion of their resources and manpower. The Enclave Remnants did arrive at their Bunker after the destruction of the Oil Rig, but were forced to assimilate to the Black Knights or be exiled. Many assimilated while others tried to find another Enclave Bunker. Anyone can join and receive training in Power Armor, Combat and Veribird Maintenance and Piloting.

Gasoline Heads - Raiders with a knack for fixing up Vehicles. "Going overboard" is an alien concept to them, as they try to make anything they can into another one of their Vehicles. Led by an individual known only as "The Mechanic", they're the main source of Engines and Vehicles in Raider City. They've tured almost everything they could get their hands on into a Hot Rod, from broken old Cars to even Settlements. Some say they're working on a giant Road Train, but that's only a rumor. They often try to hijack Black Knight Vertibirds, but fail everytime.

The 45s - These are residents of Vault 45 and the only source of Purified Water in the Wasteland. This has made them a force to be reckoned with and like to make sure it stays that way. They usually hire from Raider City to do their dirty work. Their official motto is "Don't fuck with the 45". The Overseer usually has no time for anyone's bs and you better have a damn good reason for bothering him, because he makes First Citizen Lynette look like a sweetheart in comparison. No one dares to attack a 45 Water Cart.

Psyko Bonez - Kill. Skin. Wear Bones. These psychopaths use the bones of their victims to make Weapons and Armor. Their leader is a man simply known as "Bonez the 4th" (Don't ask what happened to the first 3). They are always on the hunt and love to kill. They'll wear any kind of bones on their bodies, from Human to even Deathclaw. This is also seen as a show of strength as no one wants to tangle with someone wearing a Deathclaw Skull on their head.

Raider City - A large Settlement consisting of Raiders. Raider Gangs typically fight eachother out in the Wastes, but Raider City is neutral ground. If you wish to know what happens to those who break that little rule, ask the guy being torn apart by Psycho-Addicted Deathclaws. It's otherwise a lawless place where anything goes. There's Cage Fights, Prostitution, Slaves, Drugs and many more fucked up things. If you're going to eat there, I suggest you stick to the Salad Bar. Then again, you should probably avoid that as well.

Shroud - A secretive Assassination Group operating out of Raider City. They normally wear Silver Shroud Costumes they loot from Costume Shops, but will change into more inconspicuous outfits depending on their mission. Their services include, but not limited to Assassination, Espionage, Kidnapping, Drug Running, Weapons Smuggling and Mercenary Work. Rumor has it the 45s are their bet customers. Their prices are high, but you get what you pay for. The Shroud hold no loyalties to any other group, just the holy Bottlecap.

The Red Mafia - They were once a part of Caesar's Legion, but after 2 humiliating defeats at Hoover Dam and their leadership dead or on the run, the Legion fell apart, separating into tribes once again. A former Frumentarii who had worked undercover in New Vegas convinced a large group of other former Legionaries to head east into the Middle Wastelands and rebuild a new Empire, which is now known as The Red Mafia. They are family and no one betrays or leaves the family. They ditched their Roman-like Football Pads for nicely tailored and armored Red Suits and can often be seen riding in Red Corvega Cars. They're rivals with the Shroud and offer similar services, but are currently at a stalemate with eachother. They control a good chunk of Raider City from their Casino and hold at least 56% of all Raider City's Caps.

Area 51 - A very secretive society that live in an old Military Base on Groom Lake. No one's been able to make contact with this mysterious group, because anyone that headed there never came back. Some say Aliens live there. Others say Pre-War Scientists enhanced with Alien Technology live there. Less superstitious folks just say the area is very highly radiated and there's nothing weird there. One thing's for sure, though is that everyone avoids the area.

I would love to love to hear your opinions on these Factions. I really hope Fallout 5 does away with the Brotherhood of Steel and other Factions we're sick of seeing all the time.

I just finished Fallout: New Vegas for the first time

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 03:40 PM PDT

I absolutely loved it! I chose the ending with Yes Man because for obvious reasons I didn't like the legion and I just didn't want to go with the NCR, so I thought that Mr. House would be the best chose but when I discovered he wanted to wipe everyone else out, that made me want to be with Yes Man. I had originally had it on PS3 back in about 2013 I want to say but I was far too young to know how to play it so I never did but in Christmas of 2020 I got it on steam and never played it until a few weeks ago. I regret not doing that because it was such a good game! By far one of my favorite. It took me about 40 hours to do it with all the side missions I did. This is why I love the Fallout series so much.

    Where should I build a settlement? (FO4)

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 08:50 PM PDT

I'm trying to figure out where I should build my settlement in FO4. I've tried the Red Rocket, but its too small. I've tried Sanctuary, but it's so big I can't find any of my companions/new settlers to assign. Boston Airport has no water access. And the drive in had no water AND a rad pit.

Anyone have anywhere I could go?

    20 minutes of rage.

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 02:03 AM PDT

20 minutes of rage but the reward was worth it. I saw this video on my phone of oxhorn getting past father Elijah in the vault under the Sierra Madre so I did everything he did I grabbed everything talked to Father Elijah on the monitor and would sneak around but he would always see me and of course I just kept getting mad and mad and mad and I know what you're thinking.

    "Just let go"

I'm never letting go of 37 gold bars, and I'm on an Xbox so I can't use console commands like a PC user. But I go another route and it works and that made me really happy but just think I took 20 minutes going a direction they got me screwed over over and over and over again.

But the reward was worth it.

Why the Hate for Preston and the Minute Men?

    Posted: 19 Jul 2021 04:46 PM PDT

I Know that the constant radiant quests he gives out are annoying but that hardly warrants the obscene levels of hate thrown his way, heck the Minutemen might be the most morally righteous faction in Fallout right next to the Followers of the apocalypse, and the Responders.

[Fo4] My mods ask me to set them up every time I die

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 02:51 AM PDT

Every single time I die, or log into Fallout, my mods ask me the exact same questions, that uve answered many times before, like "Where you like this weapon to spawn, "Do you want to mark this weapons location as a quest marker" and stuff like that. Over, and over again

    Theory: Pre-War food created ghouls

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 02:15 AM PDT

In Fallout 4, there's a line specifically stating how food never expires, and it can be found all very well preserved over 200 years after the bombs fell. My theory is that whatever was keeping the food infinitely fresh, was what triggered ghoulification after massive exposure to radiation. There's likely a genetic factor at play, since not everybody became ghouls, but I don't think it's too much of a stretch to link the prewar food with prewar people becoming ghouls.

Examples of postwar people becoming ghouls can be summed up to them having access to more prewar food (I.E. NCR soldiers at camp searchlight and Moira brown would have been more likely able to regularly consume prewar food and nuka-cola etc.)

Would a “sanity” meter-type mechanic be a good idea?

    Posted: 20 Jul 2021 12:48 AM PDT

I've thought for awhile that something akin to a sanity-meter would be a good idea in the Fallout series. I've always liked playing characters in NV and 3 where you start out good and slowly turn worse and worse, in terms of morals. The idea would be, that for every kill, misdeed, major event, etc, your sanity slowly drops. If your sanity is too low, you're unable to use some dialogue choices or something along the lines. For example, if the best possible, good-natured response requires your meter to be at least 80, but you're at 60, you won't be able to choose the kind-hearted response, but rather the "worse" ones. Perks could be unlocked to either counter-act or accelerate the speed of the sanity decline. I'm sure some more creative people than myself could flesh this out better or even introduce some elements. I just think this mechanic would bring forth a new element of role-playing and realism. Is this a decent idea or am I stupid af?
