Why does the West have more control vaults?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 08:14 AM PDT

In fallout 4 (and to my knowledge 3) have no control vaults, but California alone has 2 and the mojave has 1, so why does the West have more control vaults and the east?

    Fallout Lore Fun Facts

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 05:33 PM PDT

Hey guys, so I've been doing a series of shorts for social media about different fun facts of the lore of the fallout series.

I'm looking for suggestions and interesting fun facts in the world of fallout. Both entry level and more lesser known facts! Anything lore that is interesting would be great! I love discussing fallout lore!

Is there any lore behind the naming of the locations in the Big Empty?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 08:08 PM PDT

I'm wondering why many of the locations have single letter then number designations assigned to them. Is this just to make them sound 'sciencey' or is there a real purpose behind it?

EX: Y-17 trauma override harness, Z-43 innovative toxins plant, X-66 Hexcrete archipelago…etc

What would life be like in a “normal” vault?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 02:26 PM PDT

Title, what would life be like in a normal-ish vault, like a control vault or some of the tamer experiments (like Vault 21, Vault 101, Vault 13, Vault 76, etc.?

Some questions I specifically have are:

•What kind of jobs are there?

•What are some recreational activities, sports, entertainment, etc.?

•Is there an abundance of food and water? Or is it strictly rationed?

•Are they able to provide their own food and water?

And any other answers regarding the quality of life in tame, normal-ish vaults are absolutely accepted!

Is there any lore explanation for the largely Christian imagery used by the Fallowers of the Apocalypse?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 07:39 PM PDT

Is there any lore explanation for the largely Christian imagery in the Fallowers of the Apocalypse? Obviously, crosses are a heavily used symbol in medical and humanitarian communities, and are often used in a secular capacity now. That said, the cross seen on the Fallowers insignia more closely resembles a conventional Christian cross to me, becauseof its elongated base. Not only that, but there are other religous connections as well, such as being based out of the Old Mormon fort in Vegas, or even the name "Fallowers of the Apocalypse" which sounds like the name of a religious organization. So, is there any religous ties or origin to the organization in lore?

Is there any reference to pre-war Fascism after 1945?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 10:18 AM PDT

I know politics got pretty janky after the Great War, so I'm not interested in that. It just seems odd that people refuse to consider resurrecting some sort of fascism in the 21st century, seeing as how American democracy was in steep decline and Communist China still lost the Sino-American war, suggesting they were doing even worse. Considering Fascism was only defeated in the '40s because of tremendous effort on the part of Democrats and Communists, both of which seem to be on the cusp of internal collapse, I would expect at least a small group of people trying to revive Fascism or Nazism in some form.

Is there any reference anywhere to such a revival?

Specific examples of sane ghouls going feral?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 10:21 AM PDT

I only remember that one ghoul woman in Nuka world.

Are there other examples of ghouls who were sane for a relatively long time and went feral?

How do MODUS and John Henry Eden differ?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 04:38 AM PDT

From the communication logs it seems as if JHE defers to MODUS for help on personality performing, questions over his obsession on old presidents specifically. However JHE created his own complete personality as well as his own goals.

Whereas MODUS only had 1/10 of the time when we see him in 76 he seems very much still a programmed AI with simple goals, however seems to have evolved after the enclave civil war.

I'm split between seeing JHE as vastly superior and a legitimate life form or simply as MODUS's delusional younger brother playing dressup. Of course both are superior to SODUS which has the complexity of a computer terminal.

I wonder if the three had a custody battle over who would get Autumn and his forces from the west.

How mutated are the common people in fallout?

    Posted: 05 Jul 2021 04:30 AM PDT

Are they indistinguishable from contemporary humans or do they have actual distinguishing mutations?

The Enclave's approach to most wastelanders doesn't make any sense if they are (I know they're cartoon villains but still)
