How did humanity really survive the bombs?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 03:18 PM PDT

We know that the vaults took in less than 1% of the overall US population, and a lot of people exposed to the heavy radiation from the bombs became ghouls. But how about the people who didn't make it into the vaults but retained their humanity?

Fallout 1 takes place less than 100 years after the Great War, and the Vault Dweller encounters multiple communities populated with seemingly healthy humans. Ghouls apparently seem to be a minority in the overworld. Were these people the descendants of those who were far away enough from the blasts to have survived? And if so, how has the radiation not mutated them in other ways? Even if they got to live healthy lives, I don't think it's very likely for their children to have been conceived without any health defects.

    Institute teleportation

How is the Institute teleporter supposed to work exactly? Can it only teleport things to and from the Institute? Or can it teleport things from any point A to point B within its range? Speaking of, how far is the range and how far could it be boosted theoretically? Finally how does Institute teleportation compare to Big Mt. teleportation? Is it better or worse?

How where energy weapons used in warfare during and before the Great War?

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 07:54 PM PDT

I've been doing a bit of light reading fallout lore and one of the questions that came to me was, what role did energy weapons serve? We're they used by special soldiers/ squads or were they just given to regular infantry when the military saw fit?

Is there a meaning behind The legion'sname

    Posted: 29 Jun 2021 03:16 PM PDT

Do we know why Caesar named the legion what it is just because of the Roman reference (which is most likely in fact im pretty sure he even says so) or is it possibly a Biblical reference "I am legion, for we are many." That he got from Joshua Graham who was Mormon or at least was affiliated with them.
