Is MoreMojave actually any good, or is it overhyped?

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 04:38 AM PDT

Tried it out a couple of months ago. Considering the fact that the first two things you see are a mini Helios One with a bunch of ghoul raiders and a Powder Gangers store with a shittonne of 40mm grenades inside, I wasn't too keen on it and uninstalled. However, I know it's getting updated constantly. Has this improved at all, or is it still very unbalanced for game progression?

An idea for a wacky Wild Wild Wasteland quest about time travel.

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 10:07 AM PDT

You're the courier, right? Walking around, waiting for things to happen, when suddenly you meet a guy who looks just like you. You're in the middle of nowhere, because you were depressed or something, or were like really bored, or just had nothing to do but wait for something in the desert. And that guy who looks like you says something on the lines that in a very far away location there is a man who plans to do something that could destroy the entire wasteland. You ask him "who the heck are you"? And the guy says... Get this...
"I'm you from the future". Wackiness ensues and he explains to you that there is this guy in a tower of the old world trying to activate some sort of a mega blast that is going to sent itself into the future and destroy everything in the world your future self lives in. So, you have a choice to recruit this guy from the future as your companion and he is going to help you take down you in this tower of the old world.
When you arrive, the facility is overrun by super powerful bots, odd supermutants that wear some sort of mind control devices and there is also a talking Deathclaw that eats old world food and talks about turning you into meat for its sandviches.
So, you kill all these guys and you confront yourself with yourself on your side. And you say that in the future aliens rule the world and the humanity is enslaved, and because he... I mean you don't want to see that world exist, you made a decision in the future to destroy it. So, the aliens sent future you from the past of that guy to help the present time you to team up and take down the super future you.
And now you have a choice of double-crossing yourself from the future and teaming up with yourself from further future to kill everyone in the future, all you do what the future you asked you to do and save the future by killing the future future you.
I know there is a time paradox somewhere in there.
But I'm sure we can make this work.
    Okay, that's it.
Hope you had a good read.

New to FNV, help with Gunslinger/Speech build

    Posted: 08 Apr 2021 07:38 AM PDT

I just bought Fallout New Vegas and need help on optimizing my first build.I want to play as a Gunslinger, kinda like a sweet talking cowboy who's good at using guns (preferably a revolver or pistol) and also good at passing skill checks in dialogue like speech, barter etc. So basically I wanna be able to talk my way out of things when possible, while also being a very strong gunner when combat is a must.

What specials should I start with in the early game and how should I max them out, what traits and perks should I get and what weapons and armor should I use?

    Thanks for any help!

Dead Money Prewar Money (possible spoilers)

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 05:23 PM PDT

Why does no one ever mention how much Prewar Money you can get from the Sierra Madre? I just replayed the DLC for the 2nd time ever and I turned in 2000 chips for stimpaks and 6000 chips for Prewar Money at the cashier. It's worth 60,000 caps and weighs 0 lbs. Of course the Gold bars are the main reward but this is a sweet bonus.

The Courier’s age and early home??

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 08:16 PM PDT

First thing: The Courier was called "kid" by Benny and Caleb McCaffrey, and they are also called "cub" by Papa Khan.

Second thing: Lady Killer (perk) dialogue with The Lonesome Drifter made it sound like a male Courier had a child in Montana.

Caleb and Papa are older characters, but Benny doesn't seem that old, maybe late 30s-early 40s. Yet they all call The Courier kid or cub. So, that must mean The Courier is about 33-36, right? Then The Courier sounded worried when asking The Lonesome Drifter his age, wondered if he was 17. Maybe Courier was "young and dumb" and ran away from home (Montana) because he knocked up the wrong person's daughter. What do you all think? Is our beloved mailman a former runaway kid from Montana?

Do you ever run into Tomas again (spoiler discussion ish?)

    Posted: 07 Apr 2021 04:24 PM PDT

For new or somehow unaware players: Roughly 3 hours into the game, after you find legion burning Nipton down to the ground, on your way to Novac, you will find a man named Tomas and a woman named Jacklyn. The two enter a duel, a Tomas kills Jacklyn before running to you, and talking about how she tried to steal his lucky charm necklace after she had been friends with him for a few days before attacking him, giving him no choice but to kill her in defense

After this you either leave him alone, have him give you the necklace, or you kill him for it.

I choose to leave him alone, not caring for that quest in any real fashion in all honesty, and my interest has nothing to do with that. I was just wondering out of interest more than anything, if it was possible to see him again and talk with him about current things in Vegas, or more about the stars, or once again about that woman. Or if he comes up in a later quest
