Fallout 4’s best contribution to the series Posted: 20 Apr 2021 06:01 PM PDT My biggest issue with the games, namely 3 and NV, is that in lore, power armor is meant to be the most powerful gear one can own in the wasteland. However, in 3 and NV, power armor is at best a inch thick. This really messes with me man, it completely ruins my immersion in those games. I mean, power armor is said to be miniature walkers by tanks. So when I first wore the power armor in 4, I was in love. It was the first time that power armor actually felt like power armor. It's so big and it feels weighty. It's incredible. [link] [comments] |
Underwater Vaults / underwater content. This is a big missed opportunity for the Fallout series. Posted: 20 Apr 2021 07:05 AM PDT I have been playing the hell out of Subnautica lately and it made me think that it is a big missed opportunity for the Fallout series.
The sea creatures in Subnautica are downright scary, and some of them are crazy big.
See here for some Subnautica Leviathan class creature pics (note the player size for scale)
Vault 120 was cut from Fallout 4. It was intended to be an underwater vault.
Who's to say Vault-Tec didn't make more underwater vaults... to experiment on sea life? [link] [comments] |
Found a new food type in Fallout 4 Posted: 20 Apr 2021 05:05 PM PDT I've been playing Fallout 4 ever since the GOTY version was released. Yesterday I was wandering around and I found the Slocum Joes Corporate Headquarters. I went poking around in there and I found some Slocum Joe Buzzbites in a locked desk. I also found the recipe for making more of them and a letter from HQ about the Buzzbites. It was all very interesting to find. [link] [comments] |

(Tempenny tower, trouble in Homefront, Reily's rangers, the replicated man, wasteland survival guide). i just wanted to know if there are any famous/infamous quests/questlines i may have missed, if so, please tell me in the comments so i can go on and finish my first experience. (i'm also hyped for my next run because i want to know what being evil feels like for each options i had in my previous run lol.) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Apr 2021 01:29 PM PDT he literally defeated the enclave, saved the wasteland and recruited the best knight there could ever be, the lone wanderer. He did as much as elder Maxson did with less than 1/2 the army power, under developed army and half finished liberty prime [link] [comments] |
I need your fallout quest and encounter ideas!! (For fallout d&d) Posted: 21 Apr 2021 01:39 AM PDT Hello one and all! I'm running a fallout dnd campign! Basic idea is the party are caravaners going from New Aurora (Chicago) to The Hub (Los Angeles) following route 66 I call it Fallout 66 ha ha And I need any ideas you guys have for encounters and quests along the way! They can be big or small. And ad much of a distraction as you want ALSO if anybody knows about any interesting places along route 66 with established fallout lore let me know Seriously though any quest ideas you have or just cool things you thought of when playing fallout. Incase anyone was wondering the party is currently, a human mercenary, a human techie, a ghoul survivalist/brawler, and a protection. They also have a dog with them. [link] [comments] |
Atom Cats Red Rocket Build in Fallout 76 Posted: 20 Apr 2021 06:56 PM PDT Customizing and making the raddest rides in the wasteland, the Atom Cats Red Rocket in Emmett Mtn., Wva is the place for all the cool cats. https://wastelandconstruction.com/atom-cats-red-rocket.../ [link] [comments] |
When's a good time to play each DLC in New Vegas? Posted: 20 Apr 2021 11:53 PM PDT I want to do it in which makes sense then just play them all before doing the Dam fight. It just feels off when I do that and loses the built up to me of the Dam fight and Lonesome road and the other dlcs .So I would love to know in what order makes sense to you. Posted: 21 Apr 2021 01:22 AM PDT I opened Vortex mod manager and showed me a notification about NVSE not being downloaded. So I clicked the notification and it downloaded NVSE for me, is that alright? Or do I have do manually download NVSE? My game seems fine, and when I opened typed in a command to see the version it said 6.0.9 [link] [comments] |

FO4(xbox) advanced survival strats Posted: 21 Apr 2021 04:10 AM PDT Survival play through. Using G.E.C.K to build outside boundaries. Is it possible to use settlers as raider bait? Like setting up a guard post nearby a random encounter spawn and killing the attacking raiders or attacking creatures. Settlement attacks only happen when im at the Settlement as well. How does power armour work in 76? Posted: 20 Apr 2021 02:11 PM PDT Is it like you have to bring it somewhere safe to leave it or is it tied to your character once you get in [link] [comments] |
Canonicity of the Lone Wanderer (Spoilers) Posted: 20 Apr 2021 11:36 PM PDT Chances are, this has been proposed already, but I was wondering about the the status of the Lone Wanderer (Fallout 3) in the canon, and especially Fallout 4. No solid mention of him/her is really made in that game, yet it's obvious that BoS emerged victorious over Enclave, which would suggest LW's involvement. So my take on this is: Maybe the Lone Wanderer truly did die in the purifier, and Broken Steel (among other dlc maybe?) while canon, as Adams Air Force Base is mentioned and Liberty Prime is being rebuilt, didn't see the Lone Wanderer survive. That part is strictly non-canon, just giving the player freedom to experience what happens afterwards. BoS went on to fight the Enclave and succeeded in spite of losing the LW (with heavier losses I would imagine). What do you think of this idea? [link] [comments] |
Repost: Need Opinions on Alternate Timeline Posted: 20 Apr 2021 08:01 PM PDT Hey everyone, I would like some outsider opinions on the homebrewed timeline I'm making for a Fallout: Wasteland Warfare campaign I'll be running. So far I'm thinking my usual people I talk to are Yesmen, so hence why I'm throwing it here. The original stories of Fallout 1 and 2 would be the same but with slight changes. For instance, instead of the Vault Dweller meeting the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout 1, they meet the Outcast Brotherhood, a group of BoS deserters who refused to abandon a crumbling Republic of California (in this timeline the BoS created the Republic as a test to see if old world society can work without global capitalism). In addition, instead of the Enclave secretly existing in the west coast the whole time, they are instead on the east coast, and those found on the west are an expeditionary force meant to create a foothold on the west coast. Because of the changes, Fallout 3 and 4 wouldn't happen as they've been set up in the games, and New Vegas would have slight changes to lore. The biggest changes I want to implement is vehicular usage. While they wouldn't be commonly used as fuel supply was an issue Pre-war, the NCR, BoS, and Enclave would refurbish or even upgrade APCs, trucks and tanks (upgrading mainly taking place in the BoS and Enclave). The NCR use refurbished jets as their airforce, and have a small amount of vertibirds from the events of Fallout 2, while the Enclave would be so technologically advanced that their robotic manpower would be close to 70%, including the androids known as synths (the Institute is the Research and Development branch of the Enclave). My favourite change I've made is making the Khans more like their namesake, just as the designer of the Khans intended. They would roam the wasteland in small bands using vehicles like the Fusion Flea Supreme as scouts and either the Atomic V-8 or the Chryslus Corvega as primary fighting vehicles. Then they would use a larger vehicle, like a bus or truck, to carry whatever they raided or whoever they enslaved. Plus, since they have access to vehicles, they would make it to Wyoming much sooner than the events that can transpire, giving them a much wider range to travel as a whole. This is all still in progress, as I'm still waiting for the Mojave expansion for the game to release sometime in October, but I really would like C&C on this. This is just a short description of changes, as a lot of it would require indepth discussion on the individual factions to know how they differ. Here's a link to the Wasteland I've made so far, also WIP [link] [comments] |

How would you change up fallout 4? Posted: 20 Apr 2021 12:08 PM PDT I've seen alot of criticisms about fallout 4's lack of choice in some places and also bad dialogue, characters, etc. So i want to know how you guys would do things.Personally how I'd do it: The character isn't voiced for one, just to keep the classic fallout feel. You also get more dialogue choice and Karma is added back, as well as NPCs having actual emotion, especially if you decide to be a dickbag to them instead of being "Ahaha, you're a little rough but I can tell you're a good guy!" 2: Changes to Vault 111. They let you out of the cryo-chambers 5 years later, but this is known only by the scientists at Vault 111. They dont mention to you at all how long it's been. Here you get to spend some more time with your husband/wife and son, and learn about the outside world's state. After about a week of normal life in the Vault, they put you back into the chambers. Then the whole Kellogg scene happens, you know how it goes. You could probably expand on this or just make it your own thing. Choice is yours. [link] [comments] |
Is there any justification for joining a faction in fallout 4? Posted: 20 Apr 2021 09:06 PM PDT I've recently tried to play through fo4 again and I keep restarting because there's a glaring issue with the plot and how it ties in with the factions. It kind of seems like joining a faction makes no sense no matter when you do it. Say my character really wants to find Shaun, I wouldn't stop to help the minutemen rebuild an entire town, much less multiple... I'd follow the next lead: diamond city. I wouldn't stay and help the BOS at the police station after fighting off the ghouls, much less go with them to the Prydwen and play soldier... I'd keep heading to diamond city to find my boy. I certainly wouldn't waste time looking for some underground faction that may or may not exist as far as my character knows. And after you find piper and valentine the momentum in looking for your son doesn't slow down, there's always something to do next and never a point where you can justify running off and getting distracted. So at what point is there really a valid reason to join a faction at all, other than to build the teleporter? Stopping to help a faction really doesn't seem to make any sense when you have a missing child out there, like "yeah he can wait a few weeks while i plant crops and build shacks for these guys I just met." and its not like any of the factions really help you look for Shaun either. I really want to enjoy everything this game has to offer again, but every time I play it feels like I'm roped into the main story and I can't take the time to do anything else, at least from a role-playing perspective. Anyone got some info or suggestions that could help? [link] [comments] |
What’s with the enemy design in 76? Posted: 21 Apr 2021 12:49 AM PDT I booted up 76 because hey, it's free on Game Pass and I had a few hours to burn. Got out of the Vault, went down to the bar, talked with some people, etc. No weapon at first, thanks Vault-Tec, I had to find a wooden board in a shack somewhere. I managed to kill one of the Scorched crystalline ghoul looking things and it dropped a hunting rifle. Yay. Anyway, I was exploring and I found a public event called Feed the People. It was interesting, I was at a fast food HQ or something? I had to do some things and defend the place from robots. Oh my god fuck the robots. Those damn commie bots are so damn fast and jerky and my hit registration wasn't working properly and my only weapon was a hunting rifle (the board had broken). It's so hard to hit the damn things and sometimes when I hit them and the sparks flew off indicating a hit their health didn't go down. I finished that thing so I went to explore some caves. The terrible mole rats and bug type enemies from 4 made a return, and those things are hard to hit because they're small and fast and they crowd your feet and the aiming feels like trash on controller so that was fun. What's up with all these small, agile, and fast enemies? And why is the aiming really bad on controller? I can't speak for PC, but it just feels weak. Am I supposed to play this game as a melee build? Sidenote: Are there any weapon port mods on Xbox? I really like the 10mm SMG and all the black powder guns, and I feel like they'd feel better in Fallout 4. [link] [comments] |
Yet one more fallout 3 GOTY not working thread Posted: 20 Apr 2021 08:47 PM PDT yeah so it's not working or anything so let's run down what I have done: Run in compatibility mode run GFWD none of which worked. Now when I install games for windows or use the disabler the game launches then is black, no sounds, and crashes a few seconds after. So yeah idk man, any ideas y'all? [link] [comments] |
