I honestly like having a voiced main character. Posted: 19 Feb 2021 10:06 AM PST I think that people shit on voiced main characters way too much. The voice acting in fallout 4 definitely wasn't top notch, and sometimes a little annoying. BUT I still do really hope that in the next game we have a voiced protagonist again, maybe even the ability to choose from different ones. I know a lot of people don't like having a voiced mc because it "takes away from the role playing aspect" but I think it's super fun to hear someone reading out some of the more sarcastic dialogue. A Fallout game set in Hawaii would introduce give us so many cool mutated sea monsters! Posted: 20 Feb 2021 12:12 AM PST Anyone else wants the next game to be set in Hawaii? Its just the most interesting setting for me personally. It would be the most unique fallout imo. Since its an island chain instead of a landmass, it would bring new exploration opportunities such as underwater caves, vaults, an underwater city inhabited by aquatic ghouls. And of course, the mode of transportation would most likey be ship. Maybe the gimmick of this game would be about ships or submarines. But by far the most interesting new thing in a Hawaii setting would be the introduction of sea monsters. Imagine fighting giant krakens, ravenous lazer beam sharks, and leviathan whales. Posted: 20 Feb 2021 12:29 AM PST I got bored and did this incomplete list of an idea. Maybe people could bring stuff of their own to the table Setting: North-West Wyoming , including Yellowstone National Park and Yellowstone Volcano Features brought back from previous games Karma rating, along with its benefits Silent Protagonist and full length dialogue choices Scenes that are done in a similar way to the one in The very start of Skyrim, where you are completely silent and events are happening New features Sliding while moving, like in far cry games bicycles that can be modified for dirt wheels, dual brakes different types of bells, etc (because cars and motorbikes are very, very scarce. Would work like power armor in Fallout 4 in which there'd be a marker on the last used bike and the bike would have to be right at the work bench to be modified Weapon features Fire legendary effect actually works like fire, spreading around everywhere. Molotovs are changed like this too Smoke, flashbang, throwing knives and concussion grenades are added Compound bow, with a special modified unique version that shoots explosive arrows or flaming arrows Pump shotgun Double action revolvers Good SMGs and Snipers (Before the game starts, the character is created) Backstory: You are part of a raider gang known as the Yorkers. You are one of the main prison guards at the prison in the Yorkers' base. The prison is packed with settlers captured during a settlement raid for food, water, caps and other resources. The Prologue Mission: Your fellow raider mates and you are screwing around with the prisoners. Vosk, one of the four raiders below the raider boss Cyrus, comes up to you guys to renew their info sheets to see if they can move out of prison duty (Goes to Name, SPECIAL and Skills selection) A giant explosion occurs at the bases front gates. The protagonist quickly pulls out their 10mm pistol and goes with the other raider prison guards to join in on the fight happening. It turns out to be a raid from the Metalheads, another raider gang. You and the others defend the base, but get overwhelmed, with Vosk and Cyrus getting killed. The protagonist runs off to get more weapons and finds the imprisoned settlers still alive in their cells. They beg the protagonist to release them, and the protagonists decides to, letting them take the guns nearby. The protagonist and all the freed settlers fight their way out of the base, managing to kill some metalheads, but not their leader. The group go on route to Stone City where they go past Vault 53, an abandoned vault with its door already opened. The group go there just to salvage stuff, including a bunch of vault suits. The protagonist puts one on and ditches his raider armour so he won't get shot on sight when they get there. While he's at it, he also takes a pipboy from a skeleton, wiping the dust and putting it on. This completes the prologue mission. Other parts of the story in dot points: The protagonist leads the freed prisoners to Stone City. The protagonist finds a bounty sheet to kill a deathclaw. Knowing that he/She needs to get some caps quickly, he/she decides to take the job. Mission 1: hunting a deathclaw Mission 2: Two Sides On the way back from killing the deathclaw, the protagonist encounters a situation between the Draggermen (another raider gang) and the Yellowstone Special Forces The protagonist can choose a side from here (not permanent though), helping one side kill the other. This leads to the protagonist getting an offer to join them (Bethesda could add whatever they wanted here)
Near the end, the protagonist does the final mission at Yellowstone Volcano (cause a boss fight at a supervolcano would be amazing), facing the boss of Dark Magma, who's revealed to be a very strong super mutant who's immune to lava and magma due to being at the supervolcano before becoming infected with FEV Your ending is based on the path you chose Main Factions: The Yellowstone Special Forces: Like your minutes, but no all about just helping settlements out like preston sends you out to do in f4. At the end of the game, you'd get the second highest ranking If you sided with them The Daggermen: Typical Raider gang, except they're actually well organised (like the Yorkers) and complete heists and settlement raids. You'd get the second highest ranking if you sided with them at the end of the game. Dark Magma: Another raider gang that resides near Yellowstone supervolcano and have power all over Wyoming. Going for the third path makes you the head of Dark Magma at the end of the game. [link] [comments] |
Mr new Vegas is my favorite fallout character and I will die on this hill Posted: 19 Feb 2021 09:42 PM PST Who else in the Mojave loves you as much as mr new Vegas nobody that's who. He's always there to greet you after a long journey saying how much he loves all listeners of his station and I don't think it is possible to hate mr new Vegas [link] [comments] |
Least interesting and least useful perk in every mainline game? Posted: 20 Feb 2021 12:13 AM PST As the title says, what do you think they are? Both categories are separate- nominate both a least interesting and a least useful perk (or just a single one if you think they are the same). 1, 2, 3, NV, 4. State your choices and reasoning, surprised I couldn't find a thread like this in the search. [link] [comments] |
I keep hearing talk about FO5 being in Europe, and I’m not a fan. Posted: 19 Feb 2021 10:35 AM PST What are the possibilities of FO5 taking place anywhere other than the US? I see a lot of talk about people wanting it in Europe, Australia, etc. and all I can think of is watch what you ask for. The game would be completely different, different culture, different music, a complete different vibe. I personally don't want it, but this isn't a hate post or anything, I'd like to hear everyone else's opinions on the matter. [link] [comments] |

Is Raven Rock massively missed potential to anyone else? Posted: 19 Feb 2021 05:34 PM PST I know the Enclave are ment to be evil but Raven Rock doesn't make much sense. Apparently Autumn doesn't want to genocide wastelanders (Which is why you can apparently talk him down later on) so why is he so kill happy towards that one scientist/the player if you actually co-operate? to the point where he defies his president to order to have you killed. Why doesn't Eden over-ride Autumn? Why does Eden use robots to kill several of his own men near the end instead of just ordering them to stand down. It's like Bethesda wanted an reason for the player to have the option of injecting FEV but also still really wanted a cool action scene where you blow away dozens of Enclave mooks. (Though I managed to actually stealth the place with stealth boys.) It could have been a somewhat humanizing moment for the Enclave (yes, they're still bad guys but at least potray them as not entirely Evil with a slight bit of redeeming stuff) where you wander a base hearing them talking instead of just being entirely faceless generic evil mooks. Not to mention the sheer lack of logic in the President just using robots to mow down way too many of his own forces instead of forcing them to stand down. [link] [comments] |
The Glowing Sea, thoughts and opinions? Posted: 19 Feb 2021 05:58 PM PST Do you guys think Bethesda did this area well? Would you like to see things similar to it in future fallout games? Do you wish they expanded more on it? What are your thoughts on the area in general? Personally I loved The Glowing Sea's concept and look, being at ground zero of a nuke with barely anything left standing in a heap of twisted metal and dirt was absolutely awesome. It feels like a real wasteland with the high rads and horribly mutated creatures that still roam what's left of it. [link] [comments] |
I think NCR and Mr. House are the best factions to side with for the Mojave Posted: 19 Feb 2021 06:59 PM PST The reason is because in the Legion it will be having slavery as an economic system and monarchy as a leadership system but with no heir to sustain them when Caesar dies and with Yes Man it will be anarchy. In NCR it will be having a democratic system to sustain the communities around the Mojave and with Mr. House it will be the advancement in progress, economy and technology. [link] [comments] |

Best way to deal with robots in fallout Tactics? Posted: 19 Feb 2021 10:58 PM PST IM currently in The Great Bend mission where your supposed to kill all The robots in The City although IM having trouble kiling them my Only way to kill them is using The m2 browning or energy weapons but 50 cal and microfusion cells are rare so are there anyother ways to kill The robots? How to stop Fallout 4 from just kind of stopping? Posted: 19 Feb 2021 10:36 PM PST So for some reason ill be playing fallout 4 and then my game will freeze but like I can still hear and nothing bad happens but I have to restart the game so I can't progress anymore because I can't do anything. I dont have any mods and I have a lot of time spent on different save files but the one I'm on is only 10 hours. [link] [comments] |
Equipment for a Fallout 4 Cadian Build Posted: 19 Feb 2021 11:59 PM PST I'm working on a Warhammer 40k inspired Cadian Guard build, because I realized how shockingly similar the helmets are, and how much the Brotherhood are the Adeptus Astartes, but I'm having some trouble picking out equipment that fits with the vibe I'm aiming for, specifically I need something that looks like the Cadians base layer. The closest I've found was the dirty tan suit, but it is not compatible with armor. I'm also having a little bit of trouble deciding on sturdy combat armor or heavy combat armor. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, And thanks in advance for upvotes and comments! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Feb 2021 05:21 PM PST This is going to be an odd theory, and I'm not sure if this has been talked about, but by all means hear me out. The institute's goal is to eventually create their OWN androids. As in bond themselves with the androids somehow. There are multiple instances where members of the institute reference the desire to live outside the means of a traditional human and they seem to be progressing their creations into a very odd level if they intend to solely use them as tools and machines. Also the creation of super-human-like robots simply and truly just does not make sense from any intelligent stand point. When first meeting Father mentions that the institute has just begun experimenting with emotional responses in synths. I believe Eve ( the first ever personal android) is an experiment to see if their creations have the capable receptors and attributes to feel real human emotions along with the umm physicality aspect(Wink). Even DiMA and Nick's creation seems to help them in this endeavor. Nick is the product of a mind uploaded into an android and DiMA is a model that is able to progress and develop thoughts. Two components necessary in an android if you're a scientist who wants to upload themselves into said creation. I never liked believing the PC was an android, but I'm starting to assume he is based on random comments and how you are treated. When talking to Father he seems to comment on your emotional response often. At first I chalked this up to him being our son, but it did strike me as a bit odd. The division heads also seem to be in on this. The majority of the division heads all seem very eager to have you choose them as a faction and when you pass the speech check options to push on why they are prying so much they all seem to stumble and say "oh we just can't believe the pain you must have felt," as if they want to gauge your emotions and reaction. Dr. Li is the only one who seems to be annoyed by your presence and uninterested in you joining. Which makes sense since she does join the brotherhood if given that possibility. Circumstantial evidence The institute states their goal is to redefine mankind. The Directors terminal mentions members envying Kellogg's prolonged life. Father makes a clear distinction between human-synths and human-like-synths in our very first conversation with him Father is extremely invested in your ability to feel "love" towards the child synth Shawn Dr. Higgs is the only one of the Institute members that rebels after the PCs appointment as leader who has any other dialogue appearances. In our first meeting with him he is adamantly against the institutes progress and reliance on the androids. Institute terminal mentions the VATS system being implemented on their newest projects. The PC can use VATS in this game before having a pip boy. Something never allowed in previous Fallout titles. Dr. Filmore directly states with genuine sincerity the possibility that she hopes to see how far the institute has progressed in the next few hundred years. Going back to Fallout 3, you meet Dr. Zimmer, who is actually carrying an Android component. He clearly thinks of himself above others. Could he be the first one? Decon always mentioning how you must have hit the genetic lottery Decon is also camped outside of your Vault waiting for something to happen. This wouldn't make sense if the last Vault 111 visit was 60 years prior, and it doesn't make sense that the railroad mole gave them this info since we learn the railroad mole is an adolescent who is being raised by the synth Eve. This also explains why the Institute is so definite in believing that synths don't have standing. They see them as nothing more than a tool or a shell. This works even if the PC isn't an android. The institute could simply desire his approval as he is one of the only true prewar humans. Just something I've thought about with my pandemic replay. [link] [comments] |
Trying to get all bobbleheads but missed some (F3) Posted: 20 Feb 2021 12:52 AM PST I'm trying to get all the achievements for Fallout 3. Right Now I'm trying to get the "Vault-Tec C.E.O Achievement and I missed the Energy weapons bobblehead in Raven Rock . Would I be able to get the achievement by only getting the energy weapons on another play through but have the rest on my main play through? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Feb 2021 10:22 PM PST It occurred to me after I murdered all the neighborhood residents that maybe I didn't have to murder them and still be able to leave the simulation. I felt awful chasing everyone and hacking them up but I did it because I thought that's what you had to do in the game. I know there's dialogue where you can refuse but I thought that would close options for me to leave. It's been a couple of days since it happened but it keeps resurfacing and making me question if I am so naively obedient to people more powerful than me. I know this sounds like silly overanalyzing but when I saw a half pint slasher mask in a goty quest thing my stomach got queasy.. Why does this feel different than shooting and killing and hacking up other people?? Like I didn't feel like this killing tribals or raiders. How do you choose dialogue? When do you do good karma actions vs bad karma? Idk if I'm making sense. I'm relatively new to video games, I've finished 3 so far on xbox360 (tomb raider, far cry 3, ratchet and clank) and usually only have played mario kart, crash bandicoot, sims. Please be kind [link] [comments] |
Just wanted to share my Pip-Boy face for my Smart Watch! Posted: 19 Feb 2021 05:24 AM PST I've had it for years and never thought to share it. Just very used to it by now! https://i.imgur.com/aACSxM4.jpg You can get it here for free but I believe you need the paid version of the app Watchmaker Premium to get it on the watch. There may be a way around that I'm not aware of. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Feb 2021 06:58 PM PST The Institute and the Brotherhood both give you a way to fast travel in Survival mode, and the Railroad gives you the ballistic weave and the railway rifle. The minutemen have their artillery. Meanwhile, in NV, you get... a safehouse, a radio for the NCR, and a few more loot sources. Without the material bonuses, it's a much more ideology based decision. Meanwhile, I'm afraid that siding against the brotherhood would not only remove a major fast travel method for my survival playthroughs, but also piss off the patrols of heavily armored crusaders with energy weapons. Even if I hate the BOS's guts, their perks miiiiight just convince me to at least remain neutral to them. [link] [comments] |
Playing Desktop Tower Defense with Settlements. Posted: 19 Feb 2021 07:47 PM PST So does anybody else just play FO4 to build fortified settlements, and trigger attacks on them to see how well they work versus the various baddies? I generally run a script to give me all the resources that I need and a dozen settlers (they just mill around wherever they're spawned and don't count until you 'send them' to the settlement), and build it up and up. I started a game with a million XP to get all the perks to build anything, a suit of heavy combad armor and a combat shotgun (to make 'explosive'). I made a save game where I geared up and ran around and 'touched' all the settlement locations without lighting up any other fast travel spots, so I can just Using 'SKK Settlement Attack System' mod, and the only big disappointment is that it's a little glitchy and it doesn't work on Spectacle Island. Naturally a 'no build limit' mod and the 'Clean and Smooth Settlements' mod. I also have a few scripts to spawn a mob of evil mobs. [link] [comments] |
