Wait so in the FO1 and FO2 lore before Bethesda made their appearance was T-51b the only pre-war PA? Posted: 14 Jan 2021 03:57 PM PST I've wondered this because surely there could have been a previous model that the military used. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jan 2021 10:23 PM PST Like the title says, how have these two settlements Survived this long without being overrun by Super Mutants or Raiders and/or Gunners. Putting aside gameplay mechanics the whole area of Boston's ruins are completely packed full of Hostiles, wether it be raiders, gunners or super Mutants it just puzzles me that no large groups of Hostiles haven't tried taking Goodneighbor or Diamond City. Plus there are a large number of Enemy Encampments surrounding each of the two settlements all in a relatively short amount of area between the encampment and the settlements. [link] [comments] |
Where Shady Sands is (approximately) Posted: 14 Jan 2021 09:45 PM PST There's been a lot of confusion as to the actual location of Shady Sands and I would like to share some information I have just found. So we know that Necropolis is supposed to be Bakersfield and that Vault 12 is located in Necropolis. So if we look at the Vault Locations v34.129 holodisk from Fallout 1, it tells us that Vault 13 is "Located in a scenic mountainous region northwest of Vault 12". The only mountains Northwest of Bakersfield are the coastal ranges meaning that Vault 13 is on the western side of the California Central Valley, which actually fits pretty well. The Mariposa military base is based off of Fort Ord, which is near Monterey Bay. This new location would place Mariposa west of Vault 13 like it is in-game Now the holodisk also says that Vault 15 is "Due east from Vault 13". This could mean that it's in the Sierra Nevada but it's never stated if Vault 15 was built in the mountains like Vault 13 was so we don't really know. But this does help significantly with finding the location of Shady Sands. It's mentioned a few times in fo1 and 2 that Vault 15 is just East of Shady Sands which places it somewhere in the Central Valley at about the same latitude as Monterey Bay This location makes a lot of sense as the birthplace of a new civilization. It's in the center of dozens of communities and located in a region protected by mountains on all sides. If Shady Sands was located east of the Sierra Nevada like many people think, it would be at a great disadvantage since it's in the middle of a desert with next to no nearby watersheds. This location also wouldn't make sense because the NCR focused on northern expansion first and then focused on the Mojave later. Being in the Central Valley, it would be natural to expand northwards since that's the path of least resistance and the Mojave would seem like some vast, worthless desert on the other side of their protective mountains. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
What exactly do we know about the Cult of the Mothman? Posted: 14 Jan 2021 08:13 PM PST I haven't quite experienced everything there is to experience in 76, which I really should do. I know the Mothman shows up to stalk you at random, and that there is a Cult Worshipping him. But why? Do they think the Mothman is some kind of god? Do they want it's powers? Are they making human sacrifices? [link] [comments] |
