Is Project Purity too irradiated for Power Armour? Posted: 25 Jan 2021 11:42 PM PST Power Armour has always had a built-in Rad Resistance, but in Fallout 4, that was bumped up quite a lot. So my question is, how much radiation flushed the chamber and can you not withstand it with power armour, especially a st like the Winterized t51b, which is in quite good condition. I mean, Danse can survive a direct hit from a Rocket Engine, which is arguably not radiation, but still shows the sturdiness of PA. [link] [comments] |
Vulpes Inculta is a woman's name Posted: 26 Jan 2021 12:52 AM PST As someone who studied Latin in high school, I noticed this pretty quickly. For some context: all Latin nouns are either masculine, feminine, or neuter. This is important for adjectives, since an adjective has to have the same gender as the noun it's modifying. It should go without saying that in Latin naming conventions, men's names are masculine nouns and women's names are feminine nouns. "Vulpes" means "fox", and is a feminine noun. "Inculta" is an adjective that means "uncivilized", and the -a ending makes it feminine as well. This is proper Latin grammar, since both the noun and the adjective are feminine, but it also further solidifies it as a woman's name. If it were "Incultus", you could argue that he's using a masculinized form of "Vulpes" for his name, but he's clearly not. If a Latin-speaker didn't personally know who Vulpes is, just by his name, they would assume that he's a woman. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2021 08:20 AM PST Why did The Brotherhood Of Steel Flag flag change from the red striped design in FO3 To The orange design in FO4? [link] [comments] |
What exactly was the point of Vault 118? Posted: 25 Jan 2021 11:10 AM PST I love Vault 118. A Clue-style investigation and a neat easter egg in a DLC. It's the kind of thing I love about Fallout. I know the Overseer went crazy from the Robobrains and killed himself, but what exactly was the point of that vault again? [link] [comments] |
Why don’t we see Radiation Storms in Fallout 3 and New Vegas? Posted: 25 Jan 2021 04:11 PM PST I don't remember seeing Radiation storms in fallout 3 or New Vegas, Is it because the Capital and Mojave Wasteland weren't hit directly? What about the Glowing Sea wouldn't that push the storms south into the more middle south east coast states? [link] [comments] |
Are the memoirs necessarily canon? Posted: 25 Jan 2021 05:08 PM PST Alright, so I'm trying to do a definitive, canon version of the west coast fallout games, being FO1, 2, and NV. I know the vault dweller's memoirs are a canon document, but are they necessarily the canon events of fallout 1? The only thing they would make canon would be that the dweller wrote them, but they might not necessarily be accurate. I only say this as my play through differs a bit from the canon version and I want this set of play through to be as clone to canon as possible while still being my runs. [link] [comments] |
Is it possible that certain animals from the same family group could mutate in similar ways? Posted: 25 Jan 2021 11:21 AM PST Fallout 4's Nuka-World DLC, we can see that the radiation has affected American Bison, Asian Buffalo, and African Buffalo, all in a similar manner to Brahmin, which suggests that bicephaly is a common trait in mutated bovines post-war. Also in Nuka-World, we see that gazelles have grown an additional head as well as two vestigial legs growing from the torso, similar to radstags. Suggesting that other deer and antelope species might have similar traits (moose, pronghorn, whatever) Ghoulrillas are also present in Nuka-World, suggesting that other primates other than humans can ghoulify as well(and of course Yao Guai as well, seen in Fallout 4's Far Harbor DLC) Along with an increase in size and aggression, along with hair loss seen in many species in the games of course, could similar traits be used in future designs in-game? Or am I just being some sort of conspiracy theorist? I'd love to hear any feedback! (Context: I've just finished the Numa-World DLC's main quest for the first time, which is where these questions are coming from) [link] [comments] |
