Could Codsworth be considered a person?

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 02:28 PM PDT

Codsworth is a Mr. Handy, developed by General Atomics. Most people would say this automatically makes him just a robot, bound by his programming.

However, various sources show that robots made by General Atomics and even Robco can develop beyond their programming. Victor for example in New Vegas, Whitechapel Charlie in Fallout 4.

Additionally, thanks to Automatron, we know that robots made by General Atomics and Robco were outfitted with AI protocols, that could allow them to grow and develop into unique personalities, like Ada.

With this in mind, could it be possible for condsworth to be considered a person? After 200 years he could easily develop far beyond his programming, much like Curie did. And his various opinions on people and the wasteland do show semblances of personality, even if it's mostly the standard Mr. Handy personality.

What is canon language in Caesar's Legion homeland? Have every legionary and legion citizen had tough Latin courses?

Title pretty much covers anything. Is Latin language widely spread in Legion homeland (Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and etc.)?

How many Canon Brotherhood chapters are there?

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 07:20 AM PDT

The one's I know still exist are the Western Brotherhood in Lost Hills, the Mojave chapter depending on your choices in New Vegas, and the Midwest Chapter if that part of Tactics is canon. I know that the Appalachia chapter was destroyed by the Scorched. Are there any other chapters across the USA, Mexico, and Canada?

What are the most outlandish claims in the Fallout Bible?

    Posted: 21 Sep 2020 01:28 AM PDT

I understand the Fallout Bible is not canon but given how much the lore has been built up since 2002 I am curious what are the most out there or improbable things mentioned in the lore given what we currently know. I am asking this because I still see some people referencing it in a semi-canon way where things are canon until proven otherwise.

This quote from Emil Pagliarulo comes to mind

"So, there's actually different versions of the Bible, too. A lot of the stuff from the Bible is on- public on the Fallout Wiki, online, and you can look at that stuff. For us, it's always... for us, canon always starts with what is in the games. And so... it's what is in Fallout 1, Fallout 2... even some of like, Fallout Tactics is- there's some stuff from canon from Fallout Tactics as well. And our Fallout games. So, we always look at what's in the games first, and then we go to the Fallout Bible and look at the stuff. So, some of the stuff that is in Fallout 3 that is now canon came from the Fallout Bible, some of that fiction. And so... it depends. We look at the Fallout Bible and some of the lore that really... was written, y'know, back in the day. It makes sense and we use that and put it in our games. We don't just assume that everything in the Bible is canon. We have to take it step-by-step inside. It's a judgement call."

    The state of the world

    Posted: 20 Sep 2020 02:37 AM PDT

So what do we know about the state of America and the world post-war?

    I only know these:

West coast is a barren wasteland, with large irradiated pockets scattered near pre war cities (The Glow, The Divide, Bakersfield), but houses the NCR and the Shi,

Zion is mostly untouched, but SLC is a smoking crater, and we don't know who else is in it after New Canaan fell, other than the Legion and the White Legs,

And if the Great Khans evacuated Red Rock Canyon, the Wyoming area will be the site of an empire forged by the Khans and the FOA,

Chicago and Seattle is frozen and under the control of the BoS, although some areas might be in Legion control,

West Virginia is lucky and recovered quickly, thanks to the V76 residents, but we don't know who controls the area as the story will progress with the BoS update, chances are it'll be a battleground between the BoS, Responders, and the Enclave,

D.C area is a twisted mountain of debris under BoS control, but mercenary groups and raider gangs still hold many parts of the city,

The Commonwealth is barren and many parts has sunk due to rising water levels, but we don't know what is their fate, because FO4 doesn't have a canon ending.

Great Britain is still alive and kicking, and probably controls a fleet, because Tenpenny crossed the pond with a ship that's probably bigger than Tobar's boat.

China is still around, and maybe there is an American area because of the Yangtze campaign.

That's all I know, is there more lore that I have missed? Thanks.
