Anyone else remember the Fallout 4 hype back in 2015?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 03:10 PM PST

Bethesda dropped the launch trailer for the game 4 years ago today on November 5, 2015 and it got me nostalgic reminiscing about the massive hype surrounding the game back in October and November 2015. Every day, I'd be on here looking at new information about the game or theories about the story and other stuff. I remember after the launch trailer dropped, it was when I was most hyped and those last few days were hard to get through. The hype for Fallout 4 was really fucking insane and I'm glad I was a part of it with you guys ❤️

The most underrated Fallout has to be Fallout 1,Thoughts?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 07:06 PM PST

Its widely regarded FNV is the best Fallout game but Fo1 has to be the most underrated

People who played the PS3 versions of 3 and NV should be commended.

Enduring the framerate drops, freezes, bugs and other malarkeys will definitely make you wish for a nuclear winter.

What are the populations of New Vegas, the NCR and the Legion realistically.

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 04:54 AM PST

I saw a great post a few weeks ago speculating the size of the NCR's army so I started wondering whats the overall NCR population aswell as the Legions. I've also heard that New Vegas had a population of roughly 200,000 but is this accurate?

Edit: The population of the NCR is stated to be 700,000 in Fallout 2 from a holodisk which is over 40 years before Fallout NV so the current population is likely higher.

PSA: Crashing game with 1660ti and 2070 - disable weapon debris

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 11:46 PM PST

Long story short - disable "weapon debris".

ReInstalled FO4 along with a friend after years of not playing it. Initially decided we would play through the intro and get out of the vault before dusting off NMM (or vortex as it is now) for a new round of mods.

CTD ahoy at random places - on the way to 111, on the lift going down, walking to pods, halfway through first pod cutscene. This was on BOTH PCs - both of which are different drivers, different W10 version etc.

Disabled "weapon debris" and it hasnt crashed once on either PC since - even after adding lots of mods. Thought this might help someone else with issues.

I think it’s universally agreed upon that Preston is the worst character in all the fallout games combined and the annoying fan is the worst in the elder scrolls

    Posted: 06 Nov 2019 03:05 AM PST

If anyone else has any different suggestions to who's the worst please let me know

    The no-aggro companion???

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 09:49 PM PST

    Fallout 4

I am doing a no-guns game. Melee, and grenades/mines are allowed. I am level 13--Museum of Witchcraft.

I know I can't take that Deathclaw, but I got some stealth, and shadow armor, and come up with a plan--get past the DC in the bathroom with the eggs--DC can't enter there. From there, when it wanders away, I'll rush the door--unchain it, and out and RUN with the DC in tow...Maybe I can outrun it...

Except when I make it to the bathroom un-aggroed, Darlene (a modded companion) decides to use her combat knife on the DC. I give her 5-10 seconds before she is down.

Except she doesn't drop. For like 5 minutes she is all Butcher Pete on the DC with her combat knife. She is hackin' and wackin' and smackin' while taunting that Beast. And the DC it is grunting. Eventually, I hear it drop, and the red dot on the display goes away.

Yep, she killed it--with crappy armor and a 24 points of damage combat knife she SOLOED a DC and took NO damage.

    WTF?

I am guessing because it never "saw" me, it couldn't aggro her.

    Ideas? Opinions?

What is the one choice that you always make regardless of roleplay or build?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 09:34 PM PST

For example, I always disarm the nuke in megaton, even if I am playing a bad karma build. I need me my early caps ya'll.

How to make my second run through of fallout 4 better than the first

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 07:45 PM PST

My first run through felt like I was just trying to keep up with all the settlements that I was building and fighting the institute. This time around I want to jump into sidequest explore every possible building to find more bobble heads and magazines and build up my gear and weapons. What are the best places/people to go to for enjoyable quests that I probably missed the first time?

Should have the glowing sea had more locations?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 07:45 PM PST

I felt like that location should of been a more dangerous location to enter with more high level encounters and dungeons that would have tested the players metal. What do you think should it had more locations or harder enemies?

PSA: r/falloutlore exists and has some great people answering questions there

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 07:00 AM PST

I've seen some people post lore related questions here. No problem with that, but you may get more/better answers on /r/falloutlore.

No one seems to mention it in lore threads and just wanted to give it a shoutout. (This post wasn't meant to be a stickler for which sub is more apt to post lore questions, but to help people interested in the world of Fallout)

    Thats all. Carry on.

    Brown Face Glitch

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 08:46 PM PST

    I'm playing FO4 on PC.

I've been playing modded for a while now as well as with the HD DLC but only recently have I gotten the brown face glitch. No matter what mod I download to fix it it just stays. I've trying deleting the HD texture pack, using a HD DLC brown face fix mod, deleting the HD DLC, using a regular vanilla textures brown face fix mod, and even double or triple loading the same save to fix the issue. Nothing works and it's really annoying since I like my character and enjoy seeing them interact with different NPCs. Anyone have an alternative to fix this that I haven't tried yet? Plz help :((((

Hiding the Sole Survivor quest for Shaun from the rest of the characters

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 02:33 PM PST

I was wondering if you can (for example) free Nick from vault 114 and avoiding telling him that you are looking for your son. Is it possible? Do you know of other possible points of the main quest where you can hide your real intentions from people?

I'm asking because I was trying to figure out if there is a way to start the far harbor questline in a moment in which the SS could be stuck in the search for Shaun without a clue, so that he doesn't have the pressure yet.

I know it sounds messy but maybe someone else has pondered on similar problems 😁

    Thanks in advance! 🍻

    A few lore questions

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 01:33 PM PST

Number one, where are spears, the most simple melee weapon. Number 2 how does everyone have underwear and bras. Number 3 how is ammunition in abundance, who's making it? Number 4 how does scraping a combat rifle give you more steel than a car. Number 5 why did diamond city just decide to never use the other areas of the stadium

Is there an in-universe reason as to why architecture in Fallout 4 and 76 look so different from in 3 and New Vegas?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 10:22 AM PST

I've been playing a lot of Fallout 3 lately, and it dawned on me that the architecture for buildings in Fallout 4 and 76 is a lot more futuristic from the realistic design for Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Is there any canonical reason for the architectural differences or was this solely a artistic decision on Bethesda's part?

Anchorage is the perfect location for a new fallout story/game

    Posted: 05 Nov 2019 02:38 PM PST

With the amount of lore and importance that lies in the history of Anchorage in the Fallout universe, as well as the fact that it's geographical distance meaning next to NOTHING about other fallout games has to bleed over into it, I can't think of a better location than Anchorage for another fallout title. I'm a big story/lore guy so I'm thinking with that framework first, but the location is so interesting and different than the rest of the wasteland different gameplay aspects could easily be integrated as well. I've thought this for a while but with 76 going further and further down its path to oblivion I just feel like the future of the series NEEDS something big and unique to shake it up and similar to the old New Orleans thing that floated around a couple years back, Fallout Anchorage I think would be the way to go.

Which game had the best building architecture/style? Fallout 3/NV, 4, or 76?
