The raiders of Nuka World are so incredibly dense Posted: 13 Oct 2019 05:21 PM PDT You're going to put me, a level 106 Minuteman general/BOS sentinel through a gauntlet and then ask me to be your leader? You're going to take pot shots at me in the gauntlet then expect me to just go 'sure, I'm a raider now!' Good lord. Cleared the gauntlet, listen to Porter and then promptly completed open season without stepping foot out of Nuka World proper. Like, I clear raider camps for fun, the game didnt even do a great job enticing me to be a raider. More caps? I have more than i know what to do with. More gear? I have nearly every combo possible. I know I can get the special power armor anyway, there is no incentive for a morally good character to go with the raiders. I think the only reason I didnt do this my first playthrough was the difficulty of killing all the raiders at level 40. At 105, I killed them with Atoms Judgement laughing all the way. Nuka world is now nice and quiet. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Oct 2019 05:20 AM PDT Do any of the decisions made in the base game, like supporting the legion or supporting the powder gangers, have any effect on the dlcs? As well as having negative karma [link] [comments] |
Broken Steel DLC won't install? Posted: 14 Oct 2019 02:06 AM PDT A few months ago, I bought the Fallout 3 GOTY edition (Xbox One) that comes with two discs. I already owned the base game digitally since it came with Fallout 4, but I decided I wanted the DLC so I went out and bought myself the physical copy. I installed disc 2 and everything was just fine and dandy up until now, a weirdly long time later. I loaded up the game a little while ago, and when I went to load up my file I got a little notification saying something like "Save relies on content no longer available." Weird. I check the downloads tab in game and realize that, for seemingly no reason, Broken Steel is missing. Now I feel like I've tried just about everything - hard restarting the console a few times (even unplugging it from the wall socket), uninstalling and reinstalling the game and DLC (three times now), and still, I haven't fixed the problem. Weirdest part about this is the fact that a few times while I was trying to reinstall the DLC, Broken Steel would imstall seemingly instantly. All the other DLCs took a few minutes while Broken Steel was just instantly ready (or so it seemed) even though it was supposed to have been uninstalled. Now, two hours later, Broken Steel doesn't want to install from the disc at all. The other DLCs install just fine but this one doesn't put itself in the download queue. I don't even get an option. Help? [link] [comments] |
Did anyone else catch the cask of amontillado reference in fallout 4? Posted: 13 Oct 2019 10:31 PM PDT In 4, there's a place (I can't remember which mission) and there's a skeleton chained to a wall in the process of being bricked in. On the outside is another skeleton with a bottle of amontillado wine. There's a short story called "the cask of amontillado" about a man who gets revenge on another guy by luring him into a dungeon with the promise of fine wine (the guy was drunk) and chains him to a wall and seals him in, brick by brick. It was a good story and I lost my shit when I came across this hidden gem. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Oct 2019 02:58 AM PDT Has anyone noticed discrepancy between Myrna and Percy in Fallout 4 ? Myrna says: "Supplies are only for humans. No synths allowed". Percy says: "We sell and buy everything, from everyone, always". What do you make of that ? [link] [comments] |
Fallout: New Vegas stutter fix. Posted: 14 Oct 2019 06:39 AM PDT I was playing a hundreds hours in F:NV and suffered from awful stuttering/tearing when i moved my mouse. It doesn't matter what PC specifications I had, what graphics settings I used. So today i tried to find anooother one fix for it and watched a bunch of videos. In one of them it said something like "fallouts engine is running at 64 tickrate". So i tried to lock my fps at 64 in RTSS and OH MY HOWDY PARTNERS! It run so smooth like never before. Even running speed now feels like real (slower and smoother). So if someone noticing that stutter/tearing, try to lock your fps at 64. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Oct 2019 10:09 PM PDT I recently convinced a friend of mine to buy Fallout 1 and 2 so we can do separate playthroughs together, however I've tried 3 or so times in the past to do playthrkughs of these games but find it hard to follow through on them as the games are so dated/confusing to begin with. Just wanted to know if you guys had any tips for either game for somebody that doesn't have alot of experience with these types of games, cheers [link] [comments] |
F04 and FNV favorable comparison. The opening plots. Posted: 14 Oct 2019 05:13 AM PDT A lot of people complain in Fallout 4, the "rescue your son" plot kind of hamstrings roleplay if what you really wanted to do is explore. But if you think about it, FNV isn't much better in this regard. The game basically railroads you into following that loop around the Mojave at the start of the game unless you really know what you're doing and are skilled enough to go off the beaten path. You're on the rails till you hit Vegas and the game pretty much guides you to Mr House and Benny to resolve the revenge plot, then the game opens up. Well the rescue the son plot is a similar length and as an advantage, if you want to play a bad parent (or simply one who has given up hope or feels helpless) you're free not to pursue that plot but if you do it resolves fairly quickly then the plot opens up and the premise leaves you much more free to explore. Both games follow a similar structure in this regard, start with a personal motivation to draw you in, reveal the world situation while you're resolving your personal conflict. By the time you're done with your agenda, you might want to get involved in helping the world around you. Standard Fallout plot structure. On the one hand, the revenge plot of New Vegas would seem to leave you more free to roleplay how you want and pursue the main plot in your own time. On the other hand, the game is much more in rails in New Vegas till you get to Vegas. Then if you're like me, you've put those points into Luck, you clean up in Vegas, buy better weapons and you're ready for some off road exploration. [link] [comments] |

What are some things you do for role playing to make your character feel more real? Posted: 13 Oct 2019 09:13 PM PDT During my first playthrough of Fallout 4, I would collect toys for Shaun and place them in his room. I would also put comfy pillows on my bed in Home Plate, because a woman with a law degree deserves something better than a bare mattress. In my evil playthrough of New Vegas, to truly illustrate how psychopathic my character was, I would kill anyone I thought I could get away with killing, then cannibalize their corpse. Didn't matter who it was, if they were alone and had no use to Courier 6, they were gonna die. During Fallout 3 I would try to resolve conflicts with my words whenever I could. A soft squishy teenage vault dweller isn't going to be ready to shoot anybody on the fly. I also invested into medicine quite a bit as I liked to think my Vault Dweller wanted to be a doctor when she grew up [link] [comments] |

I don't like how New vegas handled The Legion Posted: 13 Oct 2019 07:51 PM PDT I really didn't like it when someone said the legion are "evil". But after thinking about it .. they ARE evil! they raid, rape, enslave, burn innocent towns, betray there allies, and a lot more. I always thought that the legion should be the best to have as an ally and the worst to have as an enemy, but in nv they are the worst allies and the worst enemies, i think that what the legion does should be more than what a glorified raider gang would do. For example : slavery should always be after battle, war etc. and the slaves should be from there enemies, and they enslave so that the slaves serve "Themselves" by that i mean that the slaves should serve so that they would do something good before they die, not like ambushing a small traveling family to rape the daughter and make the mom clean. Crucifixion should be to REAL degenarates, like allies who try to betray the legion, some faction who opposes the legion and try to attack their camp, etc. because in nv they are just like : Hey, you don't like that guy ? Nail him to the board right there. And the fact that they made the legion betray their allies (The khans for example) really bothered me. But this is what i think, what about you ? Fallout 3 is way better than I remember Posted: 13 Oct 2019 10:45 AM PDT Like holy fuck it's my new favorite fallout and I didn't think anything could take over fallout 2. [link] [comments] |
On the topic of the cut Salem Questline in Fallout 4 Posted: 13 Oct 2019 12:43 PM PDT Has anyone within the modding community thought about bringing the cut Salem quests to life? It involved the unique rivalry between Salem and Danvers being reflected by children gaining radioactive powers in Salem and adults in Danvers persecuting them for being witches. I think it'd be quite an awesome undertaking for the fans and would add to the overall world of the Commonwealth! What do you all think/have you heard of something similar? [link] [comments] |
Snitches get Stitches (or lead in this case) Posted: 13 Oct 2019 02:58 PM PDT Does anyone else remember when they were in the Institute and the read a terminal about the Many informants of the Institute, Cooke, Carla, Cricket, Lucas, etc. Well what if Bethesda made a Mission for all faction, except the Institute, where you had to Assassinate all the informants and no matter if they were in a settlement, no one would become hostile? I have a settlement problem with nuka world. Posted: 13 Oct 2019 10:22 PM PDT I assigned the operators the red rocket truck stop by sanctuary, after doing this I found out I accidentally favored the pack and disciples. I killed William and mags and after coming back to the truck stop I found I was no longer allied to it. Is there a way to fix this? [link] [comments] |

paladin danse keeps attacking me in sanctuary Posted: 13 Oct 2019 10:20 PM PDT I raided the shop in that sky base and now he keeps attacking me in sanctuary. I read I need to sleep for 2 weeks so I did that and no luck. I'm on ps4 and last other save is from 2 days ago. Do I just continue and never return to sanctuary? [link] [comments] |
