    Bitter Springs massacre

The reason Chris Haversam sounds like a ghoul is because he’s a smoker; numerous cigarettes are found scattered throughout REPCONN test site.

Does anything significant happen for killing the legionnaires at first contact?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2021 06:21 AM PDT

Playing for the first time in a very long time. My first playthrough is going to be as pure good as possible and I can't remember ever doing this before, but as soon as the legion guy asks me to spread the word of what happened here I chucked about 10 dynamites and blew them all to pieces. Whatever the quest for them was called was instantly failed.

Again, I didn't plan on siding with them but I'm curious what happens going forward. I just get assassins sent after me and worse and worse reputation.

How it's going. Viva New Vegas

In case you didn't know, after you complete the unmarked quest "Dealing with Contreras" siding with Lt. Boyd, you can kill Contreras inside the prison jail to get back every piece of loot you've sold him before you've finished this quest.

I've literally discovered this today. 30k caps worth of loot.

    It just works.

    My companions are stuck/dissapeared.

    Posted: 08 Aug 2021 06:47 AM PDT

I'm doing the "for the republic" quests and when I went in the bunker and the BOS confiscated my weapons etc my companions also disappeared. It shows them outside the map on the local map but I can't get to them. Fast travel doesn't work either

    Melee Bad Guy RP build

    Posted: 08 Aug 2021 08:43 AM PDT

I'm planning on getting back into FNV with a melee build. Probably gonna do a 10 strength 1 intelligence type character with terrible karma. Please share all your favorite ways of terrorizing the Mojave.

I usually play a good guy role, so I'm curious what the best ways are to be bad. I'm tempted to have my character go on a rampage, ridding the wasteland of anything that moves, but I'm worried this will ruin the game's story. Any tips on how to be the bad guy but still keeping lore intact?

Dead money: the twisted red web.

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 08:40 PM PDT

Okay so this might be an unusual post but I don't have a youtube channel and I just thought "who else is obsessed to a scary degree with this game and would love a discussion of the themes and story?" And then I thought: oh yeah! r/fnv

So this is going to be the first in probably a series of posts kinda reviewing the game and the dlcs.

    SPOILERS AHEAD

Okay so I just finished the dead money dlc and honestly I didn't expect it to hit me as hard as it did. When I started the dlc I was kinda pissed because my lv 50 character was just stripped of all his weapons and armor and my 83 mentats from OWB and dropped into this poisonous, run down, shithole of a city that plays music that will blow my head off. Over the next 2-3 hours of playtime (I'm a stupid idiot who does completionist style gameplay.) I got progressively more and more frustrated. "Why are these ghost people so tough, why do they get back up, why can't I find any ammo, where am I, no seriously where the fuck am I?" My frustration came to a head and I took a day break from playing new vegas.

When I delved back into the dlc, I began looking for little tricks to make my experience less bothersome. I took to sneaking along the rooftops, engaging only when necessary, and looting absolutely everything my greedy little goblin hands could get. I had fun doing this for a while, then I kinda got bored and decided to pick fights with the ghost people, and it kinda went back and forth like that most of the way through.

The characters were top notch, definitely met if not exceeded the obsidian standard. Having played both HH & OWB prior to this I found it very very interesting to see some of the Big MT tech in action, and meeting Christine was like "hey I know you I have your rifle back home its pretty neat!" Christine is probably one of my favorite characters in all of FNV. Right up there with Cass and Ed-e. Dean was charming at first but I found myself getting annoyed with him rather quickly, and god/dog was a very creative fresh take on a super mutant for me. Having also played fo4, super mutants kind of bored me to start with in fnv until I realized that they have alot more character and personality than people realize.

The whole sierra madre casino portion was awesome, although I didn't spend as long in the madre as I did exploring the villa, I still loved seeing this time capsule of pre-war architecture.

The big showdown with Elijah left me a little disappointed. Despite having some decent lines here and there I found him more annoying than intimidating. I didn't think "okay here's the villain, here's the big bad evil guy." I thought "damn this is one talkative roadblock between me and the Sierra madre vault." he just didn't really strike me as Villain! he struck me as "irritating and mostly pissing me off" much like Caesar from the main game.

Overall, I did find myself ignoring most of my smaller complaints in lieu of the fantastic story about Vera, Sinclair, and the workers skimping on the construction work at the villa. The mysterious broadcast came with me into the dlc so I heard Vera's "begin again" periodically, and now having the story behind the song.. realizing where it came from and who made it? It has brought a new appreciation of the track to me, and I played it manually on my phone as I waddled out of the sierra madre. My pockets lined with the vaults gold, and eyes teary from the tragedy that befell the monument.. I looked back for one last glance over the red hue blanketing the city, the floodlights bouncing off the casinos shining walls, and I turned and walked out of the villa back to the mojave. Wishing just for a moment, that I could begin again....

If you made it this far. 2 things: 1. I'm sorry for rambling on and on about this dlc but I had alot of thoughts, and 2. Thank you for reading.

    Ulysses...We Need To Talk

Just finished Lonesome Road, but something annoys me now. I've been fighting for House and maintaining good relations with the NCR for a while now, but why did Ulysses think I am fighting for the NCR?

Which Energy Weapons should I be using? (no dlc)

    Posted: 08 Aug 2021 03:11 AM PDT

I'm rolling and energy weapons build and I'm not exactly sure what weapons I should be using. I know the YCS is good but what other EWs should I be using for close to mid range? Every post I read about this names dlc weapons but I don't have any and just wanted some tips on what I should look out for.

    Need help with “cowboy” build.

    Posted: 08 Aug 2021 06:13 AM PDT

Only played through once a long time ago and wanting to replay it with a build in mind, decided to go for a cowboy build focusing on Rifles, Shotguns and Revolvers.

Can anyone link me a build or tell me what to take as perks/traits and set my stats as?

    Have all the dlc.
