How does the brotherhood rankings work? Through the different chapters?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 12:08 PM PDT

I was playing and still am playing through fnv and realized that when you join the brotherhood you get the rank paladin. But in the east coast chapter I am mainly going to be talking about f04 but you only get knight when you just joined( formerly) not talking about the Field initiate rank you get from danse. But why is it that I get a "senior" rank for only 4-5 missions? But in fo4 I had to shoot my mentor to get that rank can someone make sense of it for me?

Wouldn't Lyons brotherhood be interested in what you get in the Fo3 DLCs?

Surely, knowledge of the lone wanderer's gear would get around the wasteland somehow, and to the brotherhood's ears. They would be interested in the only Gauss rifle in the capital wasteland (probably), armor that can turn them invisible for infinitely, I think, and of course all that alien technology.

Accurate timeline of power armours and their development

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 12:53 PM PDT

EDIT: Added and changed some parts to reflect IBananaShake's comment

EDIT2: Added Tesla APA MKII and Strangler Heart as per Laser_3's suggestion

EDIT3: Made some date adjustments based on IguanKick's comment

EDIT3.5: Moved some edited entries around so the timeline is actually in chronological order again

I made a post quite some time ago asking about the chronological ordering of the different power armours. After a long hiatus from fallout, I have returned with the most up-to-date version of my "Power Armour Timeline." I have used (and listed) various in-game and out of game sources to determine the year that each model was first deployed or seen used. I have included official military power armours (45, 51, 60, etc.), civilian power armours (Excavator, Vim and Nuka 51 variants, etc.), unique power armours (MP-47 Medical, Piezonucleic, etc.), and constructed power armours (Raider and Overboss). Please feel free to provide feedback if you feel something is wrong.

Also, A note about designations: I will be listing both the canon designation as well as shortened/my own designations for ease of writing and because I find it very funny that X-04 comes before X-02 and X-03. If a designation is non-canon (e.g. X-02) I will italicise it to avoid confusion.

Also Also: Dates are listed the correct way (DD/MM/YYYY)

Power Armour "Timeline" ordered by "Release"

    • T-45: First Deployed in 2067 (Fallout Bible 0)
    • MP-47 Medical Power Armour (Unique T-45 from Fallout 3): Unknown, but likely before the widespread adoption of T-51
    • T-51: Started development in 2069 (Dialogue from ZAX 1.2), Prototype tested in September 2075 (General Brock's terminal in Fort Strong, General Brock's Report - September 2075), Final units produced and entered service in 2076 (Also General Brock's Terminal, General Brock's Report - June 2076)
    • Nuka T-51: Unknown, but likely some time after 17/03/2076 (Bradberton's office terminal, Project Cobalt 03-17-2076 JCB) \Note: It is possible to acquire an identical paintjob through an unmarked quest in Fallout 76, though this paint must be manually applied.*
    • (Quantum) X-01: 20/10/2076 (Bradberton's office terminal, Project Cobalt 10-20-2076 JCB) \Note: It could be said that the power armour referred to in this entry is the T-51 suit, but the entry specifically states that the suit was enhanced with Quantum.*
    • Excavator/EXC-17: Project started on the Twelfth of June 2075 (Project Manager's terminal in Garrahan Mining Headquaters, Personal Logs GMC06122075-HF), One unit is produced by the Third of February 2077 (Personal Logs GMC02032077-HF)
    • Vim! T-51: Exact date unknown, sometime during 2077 (Vim! Pop Factory Marketing terminal, Marketing Plans 2077)
    • Vim! Refresh T-51: Exact date unknown, sometime during 2077 (Vim! Pop Factory Marketing terminal, Marketing Plans 2077)
    • T-60: Mid to Late 2077 (Fallout 4 T-60 loading screens)
    • Hellfire / X-04: A prototype suit is know to have existed as early as 2080, but the entry aludes to Hellfire being perhaps slightly older than 2080 (Vault 51 terminal, ZAX Console Log: 10/23/2080)
    • Raider Power Armour: Potentially any time between 2077 and 2096, but first seen in 2102
    • Ultracite: Not entirely known. Developed by both the Appalachian and Californian Brotherhood some time between 2080 and February 2095. It is first constructed by the player in 2102 (Paladin Taggerdy's terminal in Fort Defiance, Ultracite Power Armor)
    • Strangler Heart Power Armour: Made by the player(?) in 2102 *Note: My knowledge of this particular power armour is lacking, but I'm fairly certain it is just Ultracite with some vines growing on it. Regardless, it has been included.
    • T-65: Presumably developed and possibly constucted sometime pre-war, but schematics are given to the player to use in 2103
    • Hellcat(?): Currently unknown but speculated to be a pre-war amphibious PA prototype. First seen in 2104
    • Advanced Power Armour MK I / X-02: 2220 (Fallout Bible 0)
    • Ashur's T-45: Sometime after 2254 (Ashur's Dialogue on being abandoned by the Brotherhood)
    • Advanced Power Armour MK II / X-03: Whilst "Advanced Power Armour MKII" technically existed in Fallout 2, the "Black Devil" MKII is not seen until 2277 in Fallout 3
    • Advanced Power Armour MK II Tesla/Tesla armour: Presumably developed around the same time as APA MKII and is seen in 2277
    • Remnants Power Armour: Unknown, but first appeared in 2281 \Note: It is debated whether or not the remnants armour is simply a renaming of APA MK1 or its own armour*
    • Gannon Family Tesla Armour/Remnants Tesla Armour: Unknown. First appears in 2281 but could be assumed that it must be older as it was given to Arcade by his Father.
    • NCR Salvaged Armour: Unknown, but first appeared in 2281
    • Scorched Sierra T-45: Unknown, but first appeared in 2281
    • Tesla T-60: Unknown, but first seen on Ivey in 2287
    • Overboss Power Armour: First seen on Overboss Colter in 2287, but was likely constructed at an indeterminate point between Colter meeting Gage, Nuka-World being claimed by the gangs, and the gauntlet being constructed.
    • Piezonucleic T-51: Development started some time pre-war (likely some time in 2077) and continued shortly into the post-war (Bergman's Terminal in Cambridge Polymer Labs, [J. Elwood] - Hacking Admin) Constructed in 2287 by the player.

Does Arcade's interest in "failed socioeconomic policies" lead him to believe that an independent Vegas is ideal? What's on his mind?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 09:44 AM PDT

Sure, the NCR's democracy is currently at stake due to corruption, sure, you most definitely shouldn't entrust the lives of many to a single dude (especially to a capitalist-autocrat who's developed an obsession to an amalgamation of pretty lights and casinos), and sure, "pillaging cosplayers, BAD!" , but why would he think that anarchy would be the best for the Mojave? What's the perspective?

I don't know, either he should be smarter than that or I'm just too ignorant when it comes to these kinds of things. What do you guys think?

How was nick reassigned to Boston?

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 01:57 PM PDT

I never knew why he was reassigned, I don't think the game ever mentions he's FBI or other nation wide police force, as well the fact that I don't think the FBI uses detective

    Posted: 10 Aug 2021 01:01 PM PDT

In the Fallout universe, the professional sports leagues we know today(NBA, NFL, MLB, etc.); did they exist before the Great War or in the universe at all?
