Vaults: A valuable resource wasted by nearly everyone Posted: 20 Jul 2021 11:02 PM PDT I've never understood why the only people besides vault dwellers who make any logic use of Vaults in the game are raiders. Vaults are a great resource since they have things like oh I don't know: purified water and tools to make it, food production systems, sterile environments for doctors or researchers. A big fuck off door to keep people out. Yet the only people who use vaults beyond their original purpose seem to be raiders and the like. I get for vault dwellers the sense of cabin fever and the want to go outside and start a new. But common! You can easily build a settlement around a Vault and simply retreat into it if necessary. I understand the problem of Vault's required maintenance but its worth looking into consideration at the very least. I think it's a missed opportunity for cool settlements and towns that are integrated around Vaults. Vault City can't be the only one right? Looking at you Sole Survivor, Vault 111 is right there! But no I'll take these dilapidated and rusted houses of Sanctuary Hills to build my settlement. Not the Heavily fortified vault on top of a hill that's easy to defend. [link] [comments] |
{FO4} why are the minutemen so lazy Posted: 20 Jul 2021 05:26 AM PDT is there a way to make the minutemen go to a settlement when its getting raided? like im the fucking general and i have to go to every damn settlement when they're getting raided, its like if the ceo of mcdonalds cooked all the food in every franchise. Can anyone explain to me why Fallout: New Vegas is so good? Posted: 20 Jul 2021 05:20 PM PDT I'm thinking of buying it and I've only played fallout 4 for comparison, I want to know why people praise FNV is as much as they do. [link] [comments] |
Would you like to see liberty prime again in the series ? Posted: 21 Jul 2021 02:45 AM PDT Personally as much as I like the giant anti-communist robot,I think 2 times were enough and I dont want to follow it along the city again [link] [comments] |
"A veteran Ranger inspires awe" Posted: 20 Jul 2021 06:59 PM PDT Bit the bullet and got this guy after missing out on the initial releases. It was worth every cap! [link] [comments] |
Indiana Jones reference in Fallout NV Posted: 20 Jul 2021 10:30 PM PDT I was walking through the wilderness, and I came across this fridge where there was a skeleton inside with a cowboy hat. What I think is a reference to indiana jones, what do you guys think? [link] [comments] |

What's with "pumping" the 10mm pistol and spinning the .44's cylinder? Posted: 20 Jul 2021 10:18 PM PDT Could someone with the Gun Nut perk IRL tell me why the SS does these things? Also, from a gameplay perspective, why do the two "normal" pistols in the game have to have little animations after being whipped out before use, unlike most/all other guns? [link] [comments] |
Starting on New Vegas for the first time! Posted: 20 Jul 2021 02:44 PM PDT I've played Fallout 3, 4 and 76 and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Is the playthrough with New Vegas pretty much the same? I'd like to know how to get the best start in the game as quickly as possible as well. The reason why I'm playing this is because it's heavily rated as the best fallout game and would like to try it. I'd appreciate some tips as well ;) [link] [comments] |

Why do I bother with this base Posted: 20 Jul 2021 09:59 AM PDT So I murder everyone at outpost zimonja and as I'm setting it up I can't help but think why am I doing this its such a bad location because all anybody has to do is what I did and hang out on that bridge and rain death on me lol. So is there a base that you think is in a bad location? [link] [comments] |
Was there ever a huge bee or hornet boss on fallout 3? Posted: 21 Jul 2021 01:41 AM PDT I strongly remember when I first played fallout 3, I was in some abondoned factory, when a huge bee/hornet enemy came out from one of the walls, and I shpt it with some mininukes. Has anyone else encountered this boss? I looked online but I can seem to find anything on this guy [link] [comments] |
New to fallout and I have a question. Posted: 20 Jul 2021 03:37 PM PDT Recently bought the whole franchise on steam, busy playing 76 and 4. Why the hate for 76? It's a brilliant game that I'm really enjoying exploring the world. I don't get the hate for it. 4 is also great. 1 and 2 are impossible. Shelter is a bizarre but addictive game. Great world/ franchise, wish I found it earlier. [link] [comments] |
Is there any advice on how to go about making a coop mod for fallout 3/new vegas? Posted: 20 Jul 2021 08:17 PM PDT Not sure if this is the right place to post this but i was interested in making a Coop mod for fallout 3 or new vegas (more for a learning experience and not so much something serious) and i was wondering what would be necessary in order to make something like this or even where to begin making something like that to begin with. I would assume that some knowledge of networking would be required as well as a decent bit of knowledge of C++ would also be required as well bit. But what else would be necessary as well as what would be the best place to begin with this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Jul 2021 06:50 PM PDT Is it just me or are the companions so stupid when it comes to me picking up junk like they have to comment saying how that desk fan doesnt have a use. I swear codsworth has to eat his hat like 50 times cause guess what I did use that fan to upgrade my freakin power armor! [link] [comments] |
Will Joshua Graham’s burns ever heal? Posted: 20 Jul 2021 11:24 AM PDT It's been what a couple of years since the Hoover dam incident with him how long does it take for a mass burn like that to actually heal or will Josh just be covered in bandages now his whole life? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Jul 2021 10:44 PM PDT So first off ,I already found the water chip at the Watershed and gave it to the Overseer but after that I sent the Water Caravan to the vault after I found it for experience points. Then I eventually found the Master and defeated him. Then I travel back to Vault 13 to get more dialogue but then the Overseer says I still need a water chip? Went back to the Watershed and says the Water Chip is already taken/gone? Any possible suggestions? Also on my status for Vault 13 it says "destroy the super mutant leader" is already crossed off, but "destroy the source" and "find the water chip aren't? This some really unfortunate glitch? Also of note, I saved 2 times before I even talked to the Master/finished the game, just in case, and those save files seem to be affected as well. [link] [comments] |
Vault 43 (Original Fallout Story) Posted: 21 Jul 2021 12:13 AM PDT Welcome to RobCo Industries (TM ) TermLink Name: oversrnedd Password: Vault$ecure123! Welcome, Overseer Nedd Several Files Present [7/13/2077] [10/20/2077] [10/23/2077] [10/25/2077] [11/2/2077] [DATE/DATE/2077] [FILE CORRUPTION] [Bad to worse] [Why didn't I do something] [My death is assured, but this might stop them for now] [YOU CAN END THIS!!!] [ohnooadfijfdsndakwrijeia;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;ERR] Would you like to open file [7/13/2077?] Y/N Y Opening file.... From: Colonel Blackman To: Tom Nedd Nedd, I've contacted the robotics engineers you've asked for. At first, some of the senior staff seemed reluctant to sign on to the vault project, but once they heard it was you they quickly changed their tune. It's a good thing that you have all these connections with these egghead types because even I couldn't get them to stop being stubborn with my "military tough guy" routine. About 5 (or so) senior staff members from RobCo and General Atomics, and a bunch of robotics engineers and local professionals, places like Cerulan Robotics. They should all arrive to the Vault in about 2 months or so, give or take travel time. The bigwigs will be the first to show up, they don't want to miss out on an opportunity like this. Would you like to open file [10/20/2077] Y/N Y Opening file.... Hello. My name is Tom Nedd, and I am to be the overseer of Vault 43. I have been told that some of the best robotics experts in the country will be sent to this vault in the event of a nuclear disaster, so that we may continue to advance the field of robotic technology, safe underground. Of course, this is all assuming that such a thing will happen, but it seems more likely every day, with the Chinese ramping up their aggression ever since our boys landed on the mainland. A better future, underground! That's the idea, right? I'm very optimistic about our chances, especially since a lot of the top staff know me personally, and each-other. I think they could be a real inspiration to the younger guys. Just one problem though, Jameson, one of the General Atomics representatives, still hasn't shown up to the vault yet! He might be just blowing us off, or taking his sweet time to get here. I just hope he gets here soon, in case anything bad happens. We seem to have enough food and water to last at least 100 years down here, and no technical faults in the vault's systems have been detected yet. All seems well. Except for Jameson. Still nagging at me. Will continue if people are interested! (just really tired right now) [link] [comments] |
Must have mods for Fallout 4 ? Posted: 20 Jul 2021 05:36 PM PDT I just reinstalled Fallout 4 after last playing it in 2016, and looking to mods it up. Been so long I can't even remember what mods I used to install (had to format my PC and lost everything). I checked Nexus Mods website and got overwhelmed with everything. The one mod I know of is the one that enables achievement after modding, and that's it. So I'm looking forward to everyone's mod suggestions and a brief explanation to it. Anything that make the base game better. I'm cool with cheating mods too. [link] [comments] |
