What’s your favorite aspect of your least favorite Fallout game?

I like the voiced dialogue, sue me

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 09:07 AM PDT

I know it might be a bit controversial, but I really enjoy the voiced dialogue options in fallout 4. It gives my character a voice and there's still a healthy plate of options to choose from.

I found it exhausting trying to read every single dialogue option in every encounter, and then remembering what I chose so I could maintain consistency, just made Fallout 3 unplayable for me. The mute protagonist makes me feel lonely and empty, my entire character base is just text on a screen.

    Thoughts?

(Edit: thanks for the awards guys this is great. After seeing others comments, I will attempt to head voice my character and retry fallout 3. I only got to exploring Megaton so far, but I have to admit I really liked the intro.)

Can we stop fighting about our favorite fallout games?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 04:36 PM PDT

Like all of them were good in their own way, even if the writing is shit Except fallout brotherhood of steel.

Fallout 1 started the series, and introduced us to the entire world we play through Fallout 2 continued the story and expanded the area we play in as well as giving us one of the most memorable factions in all of fallout Tactics showed us a new land where we can explore and play in, with having a generally enjoyable story Fallout 3 brought the series back, and gave it a graphical upgrade, as well as giving us a new place to explore where Bethesda can write their own work without stamping on the old lore (too much) NV gave us so a revist to older factions, and gave us memorable new ones that show us hoe the western wastes have evolved over the years since we've left it Fallout 4 expanded on and improved a storyline from the third game, while providing more new land, multiple new memorable factions, and bring back old ones with people we've met before Fallout 76, while it was pretty bad at launch, was the first official online fallout, and brought (and is bringing) a lot of new content to the table, while fixing old glitches, bringing in new mechanics, and even soon letting us explore areas outside it's current map (who's hyped for expeditions?) Anyways, I thank you for taking the time to read this, if you did This probably won't change anything, cuz war, war never changes Thanks for reading

Playing through far harbor for the first time and…

Can I just say that the virtual reality puzzles are so clearly bethesda trying to shove the settlement system down our throats. The dima memories could have been found so many other ways and it would be better.

You gotta be insane or stupid to live by yourself in Fallout

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 10:32 PM PDT

I'm not talking about not having a roommate I mean being outside a community

For instance in New Vegas there's all those people near The Strip in those solo homes

How the fuck do you sleep knowing nothing is really stopping someone from barging in and shooting you

No one is looking out for you

And I can't imagine it's cheaper unless they just took it from its abandoned state

    Standing up for Fallout 76

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 11:49 PM PDT

Before we start this shit fest I just wanna get some things out of the way. Yes I'm aware what's about to happen to me. I'm about to get downvoted to hell and I'm about to get mad hate and shit comments. And I'm aware. My point in this is to say that Fallout 76 is not THAT bad of a game. In fact I could even go as far as to say that Iv had a pretty good time with it so far. Yes I'm aware that it had a shitty release. I know this because I preordered it, I played on day one and yes it was horrible. But, I still played it, because if I see a game get better, then I'm gonna play it🤷🏾‍♂️. I'm not gonna sit here and boycott it and refuse to play it despite all the content being released. But I feel that now it's a pretty good game. The lore is pretty interesting and I love interacting with other players. I'm cutting Bethesda a lot of slack here because it's not easy making a game, and if you think it is than you make your own Fallout game and see how it goes. I'm not saying it's the best one, not by a long shot. Just cut it a little bit of slack and stop sending hate to people who play it. Be better.

How Is Fallout 76 For Solo Players?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 10:40 PM PDT

I'm a huge Fallout fan but I'm not really into co-op. Is Fallout 76 fun for people like me that just like to play alone?

    Is Cait your slave?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 08:27 PM PDT

The way ghoul Conan O'Brien talks about Caits "contract" and her lack of agency in whether or not she goes with you is kind of sketchy. Does he give her to you as a slave or is it more of a mercenary type deal?

    Best Fallout YouTubers?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 01:29 AM PDT

I've played the games so many times now and don't always have time to play, however I often watch videos whilst doing other things.

Does anyone know any good Fallout YouTubers? This could be for long videos and let's play etc or just small videos showing features and Easter eggs, NPC battles etc

    Thanks

[Fallout 4] I wanted to spare Kellogg on my first playthrough

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 10:29 PM PDT

I'm not hating on fallout 4, nor am I critiquing the game really

I just found it hilarious that I tried to spare and befriend one of the villains of this game because I cared so little about the sole survivors family

FALLOUT 3: Have you ever wanted Fallout 3 to be more difficult even on Very Hard but not want to mod the game?? [NEW MODE]

    Homeless Man with Dog mode

    The Mode:

    Three Main rules:

    1. When you leave Vault 101, you will Kill Mickey the Water Beggar outside Megaton and take his Wasteland Settler Outfit and this is the only armor you can use the entire game.

    2. You can have any SPECIAL you want but you must have 1 Endurance.

    3. The only companion you can get is Dogmeat.

    You cannot fast travel.

    Very Hard Difficulty.

No Helmets. you can only use Hats, Glasses, etc.

    You can obtain all Bobbleheads.

NO BROKEN STEEL - You cannot use the Broken Steel DLC because it buffs Dogmeats health to nearly unkillable levels.

Ultimately, you get to decide how challenging you make it, I think this is the default mode but you can also add no VATS, only 3rd person mode if you want to make it even harder.

Morowski's Chem Lab not having a lot of chems.

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 03:05 AM PDT

When I get the quest for the henry Cooke's Chem deal or whatever it's called. Trish tells me to go to Morowski's Chem Lab. When I go there there are only some chems, but there were definitely more in the other quest so is it a bug or something?

    Controller support for FNV?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 02:00 AM PDT

I've already played FO3-FO4. I played FO3 and FNV on PC but played FO4 on PS4. Kind of got a feel for jamming out on a console remote and I have an Xbox remote to play games on PC.

Is there controller support for FNV or am I wasting my time trying to attempt such a thing?

    Thanks in advance!

Question: how do you run Fallout 3 on Windows 10? (2021)

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 07:55 PM PDT

So I got the game, and as I tried to start it up it gives me the menu, seems to start running, and then crashes the moment I see a hint of the title screen.

I really want to play the game, and am wondering if there are multiple ways to get it to work on a more modern OS? I use Windows 10 (if the title didn't already give it away).

I tried fiddling with the compatibility options when you right click and choose properties, but it still crashes.

If anyone has some tips or any good alternatives, please let me know, lol. I'd really love to play the game.

    Is Fallout Tactics any good?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 10:59 PM PDT

I was gonna get into classic Fallout after playing New Vegas, and it was free in a steam bundle with 1 and 2. Is it worth playing?
