- why don't we see super mutant behemoths in FO:NV?
- Is the mysterious stranger a supernatural being?
- Is it ever actually stated that Christine was Veronica's girlfriend or is that just someones headcanon that the community accepted as fact because they both happen to be BOS and both happen to be lesbians?
- Can you use a pip boy to block melee attacks?
- Do synths have super strength?
- Is there a relation between the Hopewell town (NV) and the Hopewell cave (76)?
- Aside from the obvious game engine limitations, what exactly is the viable reason why there are no cars in the game?

Is the mysterious stranger a supernatural being? Posted: 16 Mar 2021 07:19 PM PDT We've all heard the theories of "is he a synth? Is he a ghoul?" Truth is, we don't know. But given the evidence, synth is out of the question for obvious reasons but ghoul could be a possibility. The only problem is his supernatural abilities such as his super weapon that can kill anyone and anything and his ability to appear and disappear at will. So what is he? Is he really a supernatural human? We don't know, but given the history of supernatural events in fallout, it's not completely out of the question. In fallout 1 we had the ghost woman, in fallout 2 we had the super natural abilities of Hakunin and Sulik, in fallout 3 we had the lovecraftian gods first hinted at, in fallout new Vegas we had the goodsprings ghosts and the forecaster, in fallout 4 we had the ghost of Lucy Grandchester, mama Murphy and a further exploration of the lovecraftian gods and in fallout 76 we had more lovecraftian lore added and the ghosts the raiders wrote of in the Haven church in the mire. I may have missed a few things from other games but those are the things I can think of the top of my head. So with all of these things in the games being canon, would it really be a stretch that the mysterious stranger is a supernatural human who chooses to occasionally protect the main character at anytime and anywhere when they chose the perk? It's on the table that's for sure. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Mar 2021 12:36 AM PDT Because I don't recall Christine ever naming Veronica in her dialogue, and I sure know Veronica never names Christine in hers (and I did a quick keyword search of their dialogue on the wiki just to check this and neither mentions the other). I don't recall anything that pointed towards Christine even being part of the Mojave Chapter either, I always got the impression she was from Lost Hills since she says ' which is an entirely different chapter so a cross chapter romance would seem extremely unlikely to begin with as cross chapter interactions are rare. The stories the two give about the breakup with their ex's also differ rather quite extensively and don't seem to have any crossover beyond both being BOS (given that they aren't open to outsiders that's not anything of note) and that they both broke up with their ex. Veronica saying that her ex left the Brotherhood to get away from her parents. Meanwhile in Christine's story, well first off she obviously never left the Brotherhood since she's straight up tasked with killing Elijah for them, and she says she was forced to break up with her ex by the Elders and never so much as mentioning her parents. Also in post Dead Money gameplay you have the chance to tell Veronica about Elijah and how you killed him, yet there's no option to tell her about Christine. Now this makes perfect sense if they never even knew eachother since why would you tell her about some random stranger who just happened to be in the same faction, however if Christine was Veronica's ex this decision makes zero sense since that'd make her at least as important to Veronica as Elijah was and if they went to the effort of including lines for him why wouldn't they for Christine too. So the whole 'Veronica and Christine' thing doesn't appear to have anything backing it up and just comes off sounding like someone came up with the idea themselves and everyone just accepted it as fact (be it immediately or overtime, idk how long that theory has been going around) because people like to ship characters. Have I missed some crucial single note that's hidden away somewhere in OWB somewhere that confirms it (and thus probably retconned this in after the fact since it came out after DM, which would explain why you can't mention it to Veronica since they'd already finished with DM and wouldn't add new stuff to the old dlc when working on the new dlc) or is it just exactly what it currently appears to be, someones headcanon that managed to catch on becoming accepted as fact but isn't actually backed up in game? Can you use a pip boy to block melee attacks? Posted: 17 Mar 2021 02:19 AM PDT Let's say a legionary is swinging his machete at me. Is it a bad idea to use that pipboy on my wrist to parry his attack? [link] [comments] |
Do synths have super strength? Posted: 16 Mar 2021 12:15 PM PDT Kellogg (who is a cyborg) states during the Memory quest that Coursers are "stronger, faster, and smarter than humans" and as we already know Coursers are simply repurposed Gen 3s. So by that logic, do all generations of Synths have some degree of superhuman strength and speed? In terms of gameplay attributes, all Gen 1, 2, and Coursers have a natural Damage and Energy resistance even when un-armored, and their unarmed attacks do more damage than a humans. This only piqued my curiosity as every fictional robot that inspired the Synth possessed superhuman abilities in one way or another. (Terminators, Replicants, NS-5s, etc.) [link] [comments] |
