Big MT and their lack of Power Arnor Posted: 20 Mar 2021 10:18 AM PDT While I know the Big MT had the Stealth suit, I find it odd that they didn't have any kind of power armor considering it was considered by many to be one of the most advanced pieces of military technology of the time. I guess my question is, why didn't they have any sort of power armor? [link] [comments] |
NCR's Artillery and Vertibirds during the NCR-Legion War Posted: 20 Mar 2021 11:31 PM PDT Is there literally no In-game Justification/ lore, Handwave or Lampshade Hanging why aren't the NCR using Vertibirds or Artillery?. Because all of the justification. I've read are about are the manufacturing, maintenance and logistics problems of such materiel. But no in-game references to dialogues or notes about Artillery or Vertibirds problems or anything about them. Follow-up Question. All this reasoning why the NCR should have artillery got me thinking. Why doesn't legion use artillery as well?. Legion-Made, Makeshift or Stolen from the NCR?
Is it literally a plot hole why NCR and Legion aren't using artillery? or is literally just possible the writers just weren't able to write in NCR and Legion artillery aspect and usage in FNV's story? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2021 08:46 PM PDT Or should they given supplies are low mostly use pack animals for transport and patrols? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2021 06:54 PM PDT I believe the remnants, the brotherhood and don't forget the others remnants of the enclave scattered across California after what happened at fallout 2 have the technology to locate the satellite [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Mar 2021 12:33 AM PDT So let's skip the pretense of "we don't know who fired the first shot"; almost all evidence points to China. PAM's intel, and the sighting of bombers(they actually just say planes, but bombers make the most sense) off of Alaska in the early hours of October 23 all but confirm this. So China shot first, I think we can all agree that is a relatively uncontentious point. But the question is, why? The power-armor troops were doing quite well on mainland China, and seemed to be capable of taking some major cities very soon. While that is not a great situation for China, it would be far from a resounding defeat. Chinese leaders were likely far from any of the action, while they might not quite have an Oil Rig, I am sure they had headquarters far from the Eastern campaigns. As well, the PLA seemed to have an extremely good handle on insurgency tactics. I mean, they had low-level insurgencies in America, nevermind what they could pull off in their heartland. A regiment of power-armored soldiers have almost no hope of any actual proper occupation of these cities, let alone deploying any great counter-insurgency tactics. COIN is usually best handled by light infantry, not heavy infantry. The PLA, and PRC in general, seemed to still be fairly Maoist in many regards. People's war won't be crushed by the taking of two cities in the east. China is huge. The IJA conquered Shanghai in 1937, and 8 years later that was still their greatest accomplishment. And that was against the poorly-led, but ferocious NRA troops who never quite understood insurgency tactics. I just don't see the possibility of these cities being captured as a existential threat to the PRC. It wouldn't be good, and a large portion of their industrial base would likely be razed, but it is not unwinnable. So what made them so desperate to attack first? I do believe China did strike first, but I see no compelling reason for mutual-assured destruction. I also think the PRC understood what launching those nukes would result in, I don't believe they had any notions that it would be anything but nuclear annihilation for all involved. They might be fanatical Maoists, but they aren't stupid. I think there was something further, going on behind the scenes, that caused the Great War. I don't know if this is related, but there was always one tidbit of lore that makes me think something else was amok, something everyone knew would be the final match. On October 20, 2077, Captain Roger Maxson issued to the military command that he was now in control of a vitally important military base and that his detachment of soldiers was in secession from the US governement. They received absolutely no reply. Something about this has always felt off to me. Yes, the Great War was only three days away, but no one really should have known that. A flew blown secession by an US Army unit is a big deal, and it would have been relatively easy to steamroll Maxson's soldiers, even on a short schedule. But they didn't even bother, because they knew it wouldn't matter in a week. The proto-Enclave knew the war was going to start very, very soon. The how of the matter is the question. Something both the proto-Enclave and PLA knew that would demand nuclear strikes, but yet unknown to the public at large. The most likely candidate for such an issue does actually go back to those Power Armored troops. I think it is very possible that they had instructions to plant a nuclear package in a city once they captured it, and either detonate immediately or hold the city hostage. What are your thoughts on this matter? Am I overstating China's strategic position? Is there something I missed? Is the Maxson incident actually fishy, or am I reading too much into that terminal entry? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2021 03:12 PM PDT I remember Bonnie and Clyde exist despite there being Vikki and Vance, what other examples of this are there? [link] [comments] |
How do super mutants get enough food? Posted: 20 Mar 2021 06:56 PM PDT Super mutants are incredibly big, each one should need 10x the amount of food a human needs, so how are they able to be in groups as large as Trinity Tower or Jacobstown? [link] [comments] |
