The story behind the Trauama Harness with the Cyberdog gun makes me laugh

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 09:05 AM PST

An employee in the X-12 research centre choked on a buffalo gourd seed and died while working late, his trauma harness malfunctioned and started attacking employees. They requested help to destroy the harness, so a team brought the Cyberdog gun to help take it down, but the guy carrying it slipped and fell, dropping the gun, so they all had to flee and seal the lab. That's the story of why the Y-12 Trauma Harness in X-12 is using that gun.

I love how absolutely absurd it is. A suit with a dead skeleton inside using a gun powered by a dog brain and it has a perfectly believable backstory.

    Ulysses, the self-righteous hypocrite.

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 08:53 AM PST

This is something that has always bothered me. Ulysses is an incredibly smart man, so smart he believes his own bull.

Ulysses, Caesar's scout and frumentarii, has a revenge hard on for The Courier because they unwillingly and inadvertedly destroyed The Divide.

Coming from anyone else this would be justified, but Ulysses, through his way of life has lost that right.

Ulysses, the man who discovered countless tribes and settlements for The Legion to pillage and destroy, the man who has brought the conflict over the Dam to existence and everything that it encompasses, the man responsible for New Caanan's debacle.

But none of this matters, he always has a beautifully worded way of saying "it's different", "those people were already dead", "They lived under a dying symbol".

The man claims to be dettached at first but his anger pours through his every word, ED-E reminds him of the device The Courier brought to The Divide, it's Old World Tech. And only an obssessed person would walk miles stalking and painting messages that may or may not be seen by his target.

Ulysses got a nice long look at the mirror when The Divide went to hell, what The Courier did is something The Legion does as well, albeit through different methods (Camp Searchlight).

He can't stand what he saw, he points the finger because it's easier than realizing he's not the logical mastermind he thinks of himself, and wants to erase everything because his guilt is overbearing.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, I still love Ulysses and Lonesome Road, but hearing him ramble like he's done no wrong and The Courier represents all the evil in the world rubs me the wrong way.

    Just finished Dead Money

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 04:01 AM PST

Still not quite sure if I loved it or hated it. One thing I do know is that it felt I was trapped in there for a hell of a long time.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere created in the villa, but felt maybe it dragged on a little too long.

Interested to see what other people made of it?

Why no Mike Rosson and Stephen Russell as voice actors?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2021 09:32 AM PST

Just started New Vegas after completing Fallout 3 last week and I'm loving it but it bothers my brain not to hear Mike Rosson (ghouls, various characters) and Stephen Russell (Mr. Handy, enemies) in the cast. Does anyone know why they weren't included in the cast? I mean, how expensive could they have been? Or was it just because Obsidian made the game and didn't have or want access to the same actors?
