Which Radio songs do you hate?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 10:03 AM PST

In Fallout 4, I think the radio is pretty solid, except every time I hear "Uranium Rock" I'm disappointed that I could be listening to the vastly superior "Uranium Fever," which out of all the songs on Diamond City Radio, absolutely hits the hardest

On the other hand, New Vegas has some songs that I genuinely hate. For example, the last two stanzas of "Ain't that a kick in the Head" inexplicably fill me with monkey baboon rage after hearing it for the 5th time in an hour. And at the risk of being put on a cross, "It's a Sin to tell a Lie" has two tropes I hate in old songs, one is a spoken interlude, and two is throwing a massive high note on a seemingly random word. Maybe I'm just picky. Maybe not. I'd like to see if anyone else has gripes with some of the songs in the Fallouts over the years.

Small update; Johnny Guitar is overwhelmingly the most hated song. Dishonorable mention to Butcher Pete

    Explanation for pipe weapons

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 08:13 PM PST

magazine In FO4 while exploring gunners plaza, you can find a guns and bullets magazine titled "street guns of Detroit" and its cover shows what clearly is a pipe revolver( at least a version of it )

It got me thinking because I know some people say that it breaks the immersion to find pipe weapons in pre war containers but this magazine obviously shows that pipe weapons were used in the US before the bombs dropped. Can I assume then that the majority of citizens before the war made pipe weapons and now the sole survivor is just discovering everyone's secret home made gun ?

Idk just food for thought while I was exploring the commonwealth.

    Is this sub-reddit a Vault-Tec experiment?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 02:09 AM PST

The description of this sub-reddit says that it's a "state-of-the-art subreddit from Vault-Tec." Are we being experimented on by the mods? What would the experiment be?

As a newbie can I please just rave about Fallout NV for a bit?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 01:06 AM PST

It's 4AM and I can't sleep. I think I've been playing too much fallout, haha I have dreams where I reload saves and try different dialogues IRL.

My god, it's phenomenal. As my first RPG/real game, it's made me appreciate gaming as a form of interactive storytelling. I'm completely pulled into a haunting post-apocalypse. I'm blown away by the storyline and the thought that went into every piece of this game.

I love jamming to 50's tunes while running around the Mojave like some swashbuckling rabble-rouser. I love meeting new NPCs. I love the extra worlds the DLCs introduced.

Zion felt like a complete other universe. Running through the canyons under a night sky filled with stars was honestly breathtaking. Big Mountain, with its senile, pervy robots was quirky and hilarious. I really liked the McCarthy Toaster. Sierra Madre was tense for me, an atmosphere of old riches and regrets. I just started Lonesome Road and I've been told to get good at shooting deathstalkers from afar!

I tend to save (low-key hoard) things in RL so I sometimes spend a lot of time on inventory management... but hey, it makes me happy & keeps me prepared! Honestly FNV has really helped my mental health during this pandemic.

This is going to sound dumb, but I see a lot of real life analogies in it. Life is kinda like a game where you try to max out the stats you care about. As you level up, you choose and gain different perks that fit your build/playing style. Melee or ranged, you can be a badass in so many different ways! You can decide what factions to work with, choosing your inner circle of influences and impact those around you. NPCs and companions get their own side quests and resolutions. You're the NPC in someone else's storyline.

But enough of this blathering. I just wanted to say thanks guys. I love that fallout games are 10+ years old and I still see posts trending on r/popular. I love that is has such an active community. You guys rock! My bf gifted me Fallout 3 & 4 for my birthday, and I can't wait to play those too!

The ONLY reason to destroy Enclave in F2

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 06:13 AM PST

    Hey guys!

I've just finished F2 for the first time. That game made me feel A LOT of emotions, F2 is really good. But, here's the deal:

I found that there is no "good" faction in the game. Maybe we can consider some groups like NCR rangers good, but still. Vault City, New-Reno, NCR, etc - all of them have something that doesn't let me say "I choose these guys, I like them" (narcotics, corruption, schemes, that "citizenship" stuff, racism, unnecessary cruelty). I would even destroy all of them.

I mean, really, Fallout 2 is kidding me: there actually were kind and smart people, perfect boiz, but they were DEATHCLAWS and KILLED BY BILLY HERRINGTON. Just why??? I feel sorry for those folks, maybe only for them.

And about the topic: your family is kindapped by the Enclave. You reach them, speak with their President and staff, learn their ideals and the story leads you to the point when you must destroy them. May we say that the Enclave is a villian or threatening The World more than others? Are Vault City guys really better (spoiler: yes, they don't kill wastelanders, they turn them into slaves)? Maybe psychopaths and junkies of Reno are (thanks fot the jet, kid)?

Well, comparing to other factions and people, the only real reason to destroy the Enclave is to save your tribe. You're just rescuing your people, not saving The World "for the greater good". Moreover, in that case I believe that you can replace the Enclave with Vault City or Hubologists or mostly whatever you like - it doesn't really matter which faction crosses your path, it's only about the hornet-like metal armor.

What do you think about it? I felt nothing similar playing other Fallout games, to be honest.

Kellogg seemed afraid of you in Fo4

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 05:08 AM PST

He seemed like he wanted to be intimidating, but given the fact that he seemed to be hiding, I get the feeling the implication was he knew how dangerous you were and didn't want to fight.

Or I'm overthinking the entire thing, I'm not sure.

What’s the saddest thing that you’ve seen in a Fallout game?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 02:38 PM PST

Finally finished Fallout 4 after many years of putting it off.

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 04:45 PM PST

Fallout 4 was one of the first games I picked up when I got my Xbox One back in early 2018. Had been looking forward to it for so long (mind you this was before I paid too much attention to Bethesda's reputation, I was just happy to have more Fallout). Anyway my wife had thrown me a Fallout themed Christmas and everything that year and I thought picking up Fallout 4 with my new Xbox would be perfect. I ended up not enjoying the game at all and quit after just a few hours. Long story short I came back to it a few days ago and have beaten it.

Now I want advice. What are some great side quests to start working on?? I loved the Silver Shroud quest line, so much fun haha. And for context I sided with the institute so any Raildoad or BoS missions are off the table for me as are other things I would assume. I also have all DLC installed as well.

    Save problem in Fallout 3

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 07:13 AM PST

Hey, can anybody help me? I'm having a serious problem with saving in fallout 3. I bought the regular Fallout 3 version on Steam and since I've started playing I've already lost 3 saves, one of them with 8 hours and I don't know what I can do because there is nothing about this on youtube and etc. The problem is that when I click to save the game all the other saves ( the auto, manuals, and quick) are erased, and if I die or close the game I lost my save, just like that. I don't know what to do, I want to continue playing but with this problem, it's getting difficult. Please if you know something that may help me I would be so glad.

    Where my legendaries at?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 12:58 AM PST

Currently a low level 25 scrub in Fallout 4 trying to get some good gear. I can't seem to get any legendaries to spawn though even at the usual locations. My luck is all the way up to 10 so I don't know what else to do. How can i get more legendary enemies?

Why do I have to steal stuff lying out in the open?

    Posted: 02 Dec 2020 06:41 AM PST

One thing that really annoys me about a lot of Bethesda games, is why on earth if I go into an Inn/bar, shop or location, and you see various different knick-knacks lying about, but the moment you to interact with one the only option is to steal it?

It just doesn't make sense. Something tucked in a safe, or behind the counter, yeah I can understand. But 5 beer bottles lying on a table with no owner and the entire town starts shooting at me the moment I take one? This is worse then hitting a chicken in Skyrim.

If your gonna go through the trouble of setting up and placing different objects in a shop or location, rather then having them be stolen, why not do something similar with RDR 2? Where you can look at the ledger or walk up to a shelf and when interacting with it, you simply buy it?

Yes, there are mods that fix this issue, but the fact that it's not in the base game is really annoying. while I have nothing against nabbing a few items here or there that were...misplaced, at the same time, if I go into a bar, and see a bottle of whiskey out on a table and no one around I see no reason why I can't take it and pour myself a shot. I also don't think a bar, or an owner is gonna be too picky about empty bottles or junk laying around so again if were not allowed to have it, why is it there in the first place?

Me being a cashier IRL, I can understand some parts of it, but how Bethesda games treat items in a locale would be like me seeing a customer walk up to an item, take it off the shelf then I dart over and shout "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!" Or suddenly everyone in the store starts attacking the customer, before they even have the chance to pay for it.

Technically speaking you aren't stealing until the merchandise leaves the store without having payed for it.

If your gonna put stuff in a location, and have it be interactable, at least have some kind of logic behind it. Don't put some Sugar bombs, Cram, or Nuka-Cola's out on a table and while I'm dying of starvation and dehydration and not expect me to take them and don't chastise me for taking them when no one is clearly interacting with them.

What's your favorite Fallout "content creator"?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 10:50 AM PST

Just like the title says / asks.

My entry into the Fallout fandom was Gopher's "Jack" playthrough of New Vegas. Later on I watched his "Frank" in Fallout 4. I also watched a lot from MittenSquad and MATN...and Juicehead. Lately, I began watching some cool FO76 people. What about you? Where do you get your "Fallout kick"?

    Fallout-Inspired Spotify Playlist

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 04:57 PM PST

Hello everyone, I've been working on a Fallout inspired playlist and decided to share it.

    https://open.spotify.com/playlist/037TxQCcx4JNjNTcd7475P?si=fHCzLyDcSFGpQT7Nly0dKQ

The playlist includes songs I've chosen personally as well as songs from Fallout 3, NV, and 4. It also includes songs heard from the Old World Tunes Radio mod which definitely deserves a shout out for the amazing work they did. You can find them on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/OldWorldRadio2

I usually use my playlist while playing Fallout so thought I would share it with everyone here. It's still a growing playlist and I plan to continue adding to it. Right now it is almost 13 hours long. Hope you like it and also please check out others who have posted their playlists here as well. Thanks everyone!

Which fallout is more accessible and easy for a new player? New Vegas or Fallout 3?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 05:31 PM PST

Since both of these games are around $5 on the 360 marketplace I'm interested in buying one.. I just don't know which one would be more welcoming and easier for a new player like myself. I'm more into linear gameplay but I'm okay with open world stuff also.. For example I played Skyrim and liked it very much I found the side quests very easy to follow. I've also played the Witcher 2 and did not know wtf I was doing and found it very hard to follow the quests and what was going on... idk if that makes sense but yeah I guess I just want to know which one is easier to follow.

Why is this Fandom at war with each other

    Posted: 01 Dec 2020 10:00 AM PST

I see it everywhere, someone shares their opinion on something and other people just tear it apart and call them stupid for having one, if someone says that Fallout 76 isn't the worst thing ever people call them a moron(just for the record I don't like fallout 76, but I don't hate people who like it ,like some people do.), its almost as bad as the Star Wars fandom.
