For my yearly New Vegas playthrough I decided to play Dead Money in Very Hard + Hardcore

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 08:02 AM PST

Call me crazy, delusional or even sadistic, I'm confident I'll make it through . I'm not at my first playthrough after all and I got quite some experience with dead money. But for you guy's enjoyment I'll try to give this post a daily update to let you know how it's going.

19/12/2020 : starting the Dead Money DLC Edit : 19/12/20 : well first of all thank you all for the upvotes, to be fair I never had so much upvotes so I'm really happy that you took interest in this little adventure of mine. For the people interested in my progress : I freed Dean, God and Christine and I'm going for the meeting. It's not nearly as difficult as I imagined and for people planning on doing it it's totally doable Edit (19/12/20 again) : it's starting to be really more challenging, as I explore the outskirts of the villa ghost peoples start to literally 1v5 me and with the scarce resources I have it's becoming more challenging, story wise I'm just before the gala opening

Hello everyone this is the last update at 20/12/20 So what happened ? Shit happened! After my last update things got really difficult and let's say I might have insulted my controller a bit. Nonetheless I finally entered the casino, did the mission (killed Dean cause he's a bitch, gave a new personality to God/Dog and well been nice to Christine. Finally I pulled an extra sneaky on Elijah by stealing the 37 gold bars and locking him in the vault. In conclusion I wanted to say thanks to all of you because without this post motivation I might have just given up a few times. If you want a review of my experience: it's difficult by moment, extremely annoying for the most of it but I'm still alive (even if I lost 80% of my sanity). For peoples interested in stats I Died 11 times in a total of 9 hours (took some pause)! So that's about it for my experience. Have a good one everybody!

Bethesda could learn from cyberpunk first person animations

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 05:15 PM PST

I know it's popular to bash on cyberpunk right now but something I hope Bethesda works on in their next titles is first person animations. Cyberpunk has all sorts of animations that make it feel really immersive when interacting with stuff. Fallout 4 had a tiny little hint of that with stuff like opening a vault door, but it would be awesome to see that expanded on. Like smoking, drinking bottles/cans, dialogue interactions, etc

10 years later, I finally completed all the achievements in Fallout New Vegas

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 06:10 PM PST

A couple months ago I was looking for a new game to play and decided to revisit New Vegas (I had previously played ~35 hours on PC and maybe 20 on Xbox 360). After 100+ hours I realized that I wasn't that far off of every achievement so I decided to commit to getting them all. New Vegas is truly a great game and I was really amazed by how much content I hadn't discovered. With a couple mods the game ran great(for the most part) and I really think it holds up for a game that came out a decade ago. I think Fallout 3 will always remain my favorite game in the Fallout series, likely due to the fact that it was my first rpg and Fallout game, but I can definitely see why New Vegas is regarded by so many as the best in the series.

I still have faith in bethesda for fallout 5

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 01:18 AM PST

4 and 76 lacked in places but they were still a necessary step in experimenting with the franchise. Even then fallout 76 is arguably a good if not decent game and the dialogue choices show bethesda is more than capable at making actual dialogue beyond yes, no, sarcastic and maybe. Also as a lot of people agree the far harbor dlc shows that bethesda can make good fallout game as the story, characters, dialogue options, factions and choices were actually more in depth and heavy than the ones in base fo4.

Fallout New Vegas: Suggestions for a new play style on Hardcore with Very Hard difficulty.

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 03:59 AM PST

I played through New Vegas a couple times throughout the years. Vanilla, modded but always stuck to a sniper build.

I'm up for a different play style and choices for SPECIAL and perks.

    Playing vanilla this time around.

You guys have any fun suggestions that's also a challenge?

I'm having an issue with FO4 and increased load times on PC

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 03:12 AM PST

So, i've noticed that either after i added a few mods (just a few guns) or just coincidentally soon after my load times began to take longer than they used to. Used to be that it'd take maybe 20s to 60s on estimate depending on if i was loading an interior or an exterior or whatever.

I tried searching on google, saw a steam post about disabling VSync for the game in the graphics cards own control panel, but all that did was make the loading screen move faster, not decrease the load times themselves. What i mean is the loading icon in the bottom right was animating quite rapidly, the loading screen tips changed fast...

Any help? Or am i just stuck waiting three to five minutes for my game to load almost anything?

So what else should I add to my Kingsport Lighthouse build?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 08:56 PM PST

So far I have 2 bars (7 technically) called the Skyhigh Saloon (because it's built on that house) and the Thirsty Brahmin.

Then I have 2 diners called Wasteland Eats and Kingsport Diner.I also have a Hydro-Farm filled with plants like Mutfruit and Grouds, etc, etc.

For trading your wares I have a trading warehouse called the Trade Joint. The Trade Joint has a weapons booth, a general (junk) booth, an armor booth, and a clothing booth.

For getting your sexual organs stimulated or to enjoy pretty girls or men, I have a Vault-Tec themed Strip Club/Casino/Bar that has a Nuka-Girl stripper, a Grognak stripper, a Vault-Suit stripper, and a ghoul cowboy stripper.

A 5-story apartment building that houses my settlers. It has a bar (the Thirsty Brahmin) and a cafeteria as well as 3 floors strictly for housing.

A hospital that treats everything from getting shot in your adductor muscle to Radiation burns and Plastic Surgery, it treats it all, for free!

I'm currently building a school and a Children of Atom church and considering building both a Minutemen outpost and a store strictly for Power Armor and Power Armor accessories.

What else should I add to the (my) capital of humanity?

Wtf is up with Vegas being so small?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 12:07 AM PST

How is it that the New Vegas Strip only has 4 cassinos a few small buildings, a vault and a factory?! Mr. House said that no bombs hit it, there seems ro be no sign that any other large buildings even existed. Sure freeside has the two, but that's still not enough. Even if there were other cassinos and they were destroyed post war, there would be something left, right? It's almost like Vegas is just a lie! Maybe Mr. House made up the great city of wonder when in this universe Vegas was just a few cassinos and some residential areas. Of course, it is brobably just because the game was rushed and they couldn't make a full city in that time, but I want a lore answer!

Got fallout 1st back in June on steam and it worked then with no issues. I put the game down in Aug due to computer issues, when I go back in today fallout 1st shows I don't have it in the game but Steam still shows I have it (as I paid for a year in June). I reinstalled the game and steam but the game still shows I don't have it.

How are Mr. Handy's still running?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 07:28 PM PST

You come across Mr. Handy fuel which contains steel and oil, implying they run off of liquid fuel. Do they know to go out and search for some to keep themselves going? Do they know how to make more? How is it that there's still Mr. Handy fuel? They most certainly don't run forever. How do they still continue functioning?

The story of a girl in a wheelchair. (Fallout 76)

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 07:03 AM PST

So this might seem like a strange idea, but ever since I've seen the datamine of the new wheelchair in Fallout 76 I've had this idea for a girl, gifted in intelligence and computers but forever crippled and forced to spend most of her time in her shelter/camp simply living her life, trading with passers by and avoiding raiders by taking shelter in her shelter.

The basic idea is to have a few wheelchairs spread around the camp for her to rest, and generally relying on her Scavenger robot and trading with others to get what she needs to survive. Occasionally getting in a suit of power armor to travel a distance and do the odd mission here or their. As well as occasionally playing music of the "Radio" aka playing music with voice chat. This would mainly be for Roleplay purposes and honestly I think it would be fun to RP this kind of character in the Fallout universe.

My First Settlement Build- Egret Tour's Marina (FO4)

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 03:07 PM PST

I wanted to share my first ever settlement build in Fallout 4. I had never really done much settlement wise until I started survival and I wanted a place where I could stash my (sometimes) ill-gotten goods in a central location. As soon as I finished Nukaworld, I really felt I wanted some of that same fun-time feel that came with being in the park and tried to build that feel in.

    https://youtu.be/ESGVkBCW7xM

    A few comments:

This build was on Survival and all materials were self found. Some highlights- rooftop market, a self-made song on loop, the start of a museum featuring your favorite heroes.

I just finished Nuka World and I wanted something in a similar happy vein and really liked the idea of trying to make a safe, fun place where the people of the Commonwealth could put up their feet and grab a drink.

I really liked the idea of there being a rough top night market and trying to build up, rather than out.

I spent far too long figuring out delay on/off switches, but I learned a lot about switches and logic gates, and it gave me a lot of ideas for my next build that I think people might find interesting (and can share a preview of).

If there is interest I can record a video with voice walking through some of the highlights of the settlement and, particularly, how the music box works.

Which ending should I choose in Fallout 4?

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 08:45 AM PST

I don't know who to ask for help when it comes to building the teleporter and i feel like every ending includes blowing up people i don't want to blow up.

It looks like there's no ending where peace is a thing

    Mod recommendations for Fallout 2

    Posted: 19 Dec 2020 05:58 PM PST

Hey y'all. Just finished Fallout 1. Had a good time. I'm moving on to fallout 2. Is there any QoL, expansion, followers, cut content restoration, or bug fix mods I should download.

Please don't say 'play it vanilla first.' I'm playing through the entire series. If I can have a better experience with mods then I welcome them.

What was the hardest decision you had to make in any Fallout game?

Mine was in the Fallout 3: The Pitt, Where you had to choose either save the slaves and kidnap the baby or let the family be a family and let the slaves be slaves.
