I find it weird if they were able to just walk into the Citadel without any of the many security features activating especially with the nukes going off would've especially put the base into some sort of lockdown.

Is there any sort of map out there about the factions of the American Wasteland thats lore friendly or official? Was in need of one. The western chunk of the continent to be more specific.

If the Los Angeles vault was intended to be a demonstration vault, why was it hidden in the basement of the cathedral?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 05:03 AM PST

As far as I'm aware the LA vault had no experiment, and it wasn't actually intended to be a fallout shelter for the war. (I'm aware people used the vault, but it's implied that they fled there, and they were not registered by vault-tec.) The vaults main purpose was as a demonstration vault, but for who? If it was for investors or politicians, I don't understand why it would have been hidden in this manner. To my understanding, the way you get into the vault is by descending into the basement of The Cathedral, and quite literally using the door hidden behind a fake bookcase. Had it just been for investors or politicians, I don't understand why it couldn't have just been in a highly secured area, this seems like a bit much.

I realize this is an odd question, but I'm trying to do a lore analysis on the LA vault, and I feel like I'm missing something here. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Edit: I just found a source saying that the LA vault was built before the start of the "Vault Project". I couldn't find anything with the exact name "Vault Project", but I didn't do very much digging this time, so it's probably mentioned somewhere. I'm assuming the "Vault Project" was just the widespread construction of vaults across the USA, but this still raises some questions. If the LA vault was built as a test, or a proof of concept, why the hell was it built under a cathedral. IMO, the hypothesis that it was just a test of Vault-Tec's ability to construct a vault makes less sense than the hypothesis that it was demonstration for investors and politicians.

What does the Elite Riot Gear having a water system woven into its duster mean?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 08:45 AM PST

I was reading through the Elite Riot Gear's article on the Fallout wiki and it mentioned that it had a water system woven into its duster. I looked up what it could mean, but I couldn't find anything on the matter? Does it mean that water was filtered through the fabric to help keep the user cool? That's the only logical explanation I can think of for it.
