When did Navarro finally fall to the NCR and Brotherhood?

You would think that would be "after the Rig blew up" but I was talking to Arcade and he said he was born at Navarro. In 2246. 4 years after the Rig blew up. Later he mentions during the battle when the Remnants and him were fleeing he looked at Moreno and he said something. Meaning he would have been older to remember some of the events at the time. Meaning Navarro could have fallen in 2250 or higher. Do we know a more concrete time when it fell?

What would the state of the Capital Wasteland and its long-term progress realistically be, following the events of FO3?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 03:07 PM PDT

As far as I'm aware, the latest point the canon Fallout timeline reaches is 2287, so I wasn't sure if there was any official facts on this topic. (Please correct me if I'm wrong though, it's been quite a while since I've played so I easily could have overlooked something!)

In 2277, the Capital Wasteland is pretty far behind developmentally in comparison to many other places in the US. However, given the significant events of FO3 (particularly Project Purity) as well as natural progression over time, I'm curious how things would likely *realistically* look 30-50 years later, based on what we know as being true from already-established lore and real life science?

    • What would the most significant changes to the Capital Wasteland have been as a result of the actions of James/the Lone Wanderer?
    • How would farming, trading, etc. have been affected?
      • How far would the farming advancements have come by this point?
      • Would settlements (e.g. Megaton, Canterbury Commons, etc. - not including Rivet City since IIRC they already had a hydroponics lab) be able to grow their own crops as a more viable way to indefinitely sustain themselves, as opposed to hunting Mirelurks and scavenging tins of Pork n' Beans?
      • Would trading be improved much and, if so, how quickly would it likely allow the civilised settlements to grow population-wise or economically in this time-frame?
    • As a result of settlements potentially being able to establish themselves better, would there be a gradual decline in raider activity, or would this not be massively affected?
    • Given that the super mutants in the Capital Wasteland were already kind of heading towards being on their last legs by FO3 (due to lack of FEV to create new super mutants), would there still be a hugely troublesome number of super mutants left by this point? Or, conversely, would a bunch of the regular super mutants have become behemoths and be even more of a blight on the wasteland, and the D.C. area in particular?

I figured this would be a good sub to get lore-friendly, serious, and logical answers (and avoid trolls/memeing), but apologies to the moderators if this post encourages discussion that's too heavily opinion-based, since I acknowledge it's in regards to something we don't have much objective information about. Please feel free to remove the post if you feel it's not appropriate!

Did China still go through “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics” via Deng Xiaoping’s state capitalist reforms in the Fallout timeline, or did China stay under Maoist ideology?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 06:27 PM PDT

Considering China's secret relationship with some American companies like L.O.B. Enterprises and their controlling of Mama Dolce's Food Processing, it would seem Deng's reforms or at least Fallout China's equivalent to Deng's reforms occurred, as a Maoist China doesn't seem like the kind of nation to do dealings, even secretly, with companies like L.O.B., but the Pre-War world of Fallout is meant to be a caricature of the 1950's with a retro-futurist kick; meaning China should still be under Maoist ideology, and indeed the uniforms we see on Chinese Remnants and the Chinese soldiers simulated in Operation: Anchorage are reminiscent more of Maoist China's army that they are of the modern PRC's army. On top of that, the fact China is still using AK's and C96's as the standard weaponry for their infantry is another telling sign that this is a Maoist China. What do you think?

    How powerful is Lorenzo Cabot?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 10:20 PM PDT

Lore wise, how much power did his little magic cap fill him up with?

I'm interested in any mentions of both his psychic powers and physical augmentations. I'm assuming he isn't strong like Frank Horrigan because well... he's Frank Horrigan but is there any mention that would imply he's stronger than somebody like Lanius. For psychic powers is he like the Master or way weaker?

How intelligent are the Mister Handy bots?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 07:25 AM PDT

Throughout all the Fallout games we meet a lot of Mr Handy bots, but they all seem to be different from each other. And not only in personality, but also intelligence. For example take Whitechapel Charlie (FO4), who seems to be fully sentient and he's even running his own business. There's also Codsworth, who can be your companion in FO4, that has his own opinions and at some points it almost looks like he might have actual emotions. On the other hand, in factories and other businesses throughout all games you can see Mr Handy robots that seem to be just glorified janitors with only the most basic functions.

Are there super mutant behemoths on the west coast?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 09:28 AM PDT

Are eyebots very limited or can they be more intelligent?

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 04:48 AM PDT

Eyebots have the AI as a regular protectron except they're smaller and obviously hover, withthe intent of a radio broadcaster. But what else of a function could they serve?
