Mainly things like the sponsorship program and starting to recruit again from the wastelanders as well as things like defending caravans in exchange for food and products and stuff like letting the wastelanders keep the more widespread or harmless tech like a laser rifle and focusing more on larger tech like Synths, Fatmans...etc.

It should be noted that once upon a time the BoS did actually actively aid the NCR and other wastelanders and used to have a pretty positive (if standoff-ish) relations with them until (afaik) one of the Maxsons got killed by the vipers when his cheek was nicked by a poison arrow and his son implemented their isolationist ideology.

Is there a lore reason why the Institute didn't just approach the Sole Survivor after leaving Vault 111?

I know if that happened, there wouldn't be much of a game, but is there an actual reason Father just let his Parents wander around the Wasteland to look for him? It seems like getting into the Institute just happened out of luck, with Virgil's departure having a big impact on it, which brings me to my next question. If Virgil never escaped the Institute, or died before the Sole Survivor could talk to him, how would they get into the Institute, never knowing they needed a Courser Chip nor not knowing how to build the machine that hijacks Institute Signals?

How is forging going in the Caesar's Legion? Do they have decent blacksmiths back in their home and what about their weapon craftsmanship?

    Posted: 28 May 2020 05:30 AM PDT

Caesar said that his legion forged a helmet for Lanius, so I would assume there are decent blacksmiths, because not really easy to shape an old god face on mask plus forge a helmet for it. Do they forge any kind of weapons except maybe spears, machetes, gladius and etc? There is only a piece of whole legion in Mojave so it is obvious that their equipment is not the same what they have in their homeland Arizona. Edit: I forgot, they also massively mint golden coins with Caesar's face and Latin phrases, so their craftsmen and blacksmiths must be somewhat educated and really competent.

Are there any references to the Eastern Brotherhood and Arthur Maxson in New Vegas, given that it is set between Fallout 3 and 4?
