Survivalist rifle is the best gun in the game. Posted: 18 Mar 2020 05:41 AM PDT Yes, I understand that the menu for dispatching death is varied and there are many better options, but I feel the Survivalist Rifle offers consistency. It is repairable with service rifle parts and with the grunt perk, it destroys everything in its path. I have taken down deathclaws with this baby and it almost never fails to clear a room. I always look for it in Zion near the Red Gate because its practically a "cheat" weapon at this point for me. Once I have it, I am unstoppable, unless you hit me with a mini nuke or missle..then maybe you can stop me. Plus the design looks so badass on my courier and taking it to the Divide is just "Yes, hello..did you call for a Mutant Cleaning Service?" [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Mar 2020 04:44 AM PDT Earlier parts: Lil recap: On my way to Novac I showed a bunch of Legion Assassins what does it mean to face a PEAK HUMAN. They were crushed extra brutally because they were appropriately geared for the area for a change with both weapons and armor. From what happened back then with my guns character I'm guessing that after you piss off the Legion the first attack is scripted to be one with a Centurion, then the equipment of the ambushes will depend on the location they occur. The area between Vault 19 and Red Rock Canyon is mid to lategame, hence the Centurions there while the southeast area where I'll be running around a lot is early game, and the Assassins will have lower tier gear in that area, and I ran into several during the upcoming story parts. So in Novac, which is guarded by the statue of a PEAK DINO I met various people. Going to REPCONN again I encountered the ferals. They went down quickly and painlessly to my PEAK HUMAN FISTS and the glowing ones even splattered spectacularly. Near the building I found some clearly non-feral ghoul corpses wearing robes. The bodies of these guys seems to litter all of the Mojave, or at least these parts. I found one in the Goodsprings Cave, under the bridge between Jean Sky Diving and Sloan, and on the side of the road to Novac from Nipton... Wielding energy weapons they might be ones who built the fortifications. Entering the building a ghoul-sounding voice pointed me to a metal staircase on the East side of the building. There was a couple of Nightkin bodies laying around and many robed ghouls. There were also several ferals inside. Reaching the destination I was greeted with the sexiest looking ghoul ever. Bruh... must be a real lady killer among his kind. He lamented the tragedy of me euthanizing the ferals but being attacked on sight does not leave me room for civil discussion. Why can't we just have some "Dude... chill." spell like in Skyrim? Everyone was so friendly after getting hit by it. Wait what am I even talking about? Why do i have vague flashbacks of waking up in a cart tied up, greeted by some guy who looks like Thor hundreds of times? WHO IS EVEN THOR?! Recovering from the Holy Handgun's almighty shot takes longer than I thought it seems. The Nightkin unsurprisingly attacked on sight and unsurprisingly met my UNSTOPPABLE DEATHCLAW-SLAYING FISTS!!! Their supermutant might clashed with my PEAK HUMAN STRENGTH epicly but they stood no chance. Ran into a greatsword-wielding one too that rambled something incomprehensible without context. Back to the Transcended One I was thanked for my help and they got back to their preparations for their grand journey. He also revealed that he holds a terrible secret. Sexy Ghoul was actually not the sexiest ghoul to ever live, but an average looking human!!! He apparently is just so convinced he is a ghoul he doesn't listen to reason. Jason is immensely grateful to him, seeing him as the saint of his people and he cannot let him die from radiation poisoning hence he refuses to let him near the radioactive launch bay and to bring him along to the journey, for the Great Beyond is extremely high in radiation. Even I, a PEAK HUMAN can't take too much fistfighting in the middle of a nuclear waste-dump, imagine how bad Space is with all it's solar storms and stuff. Moving on to the task at hand I got one of the needed parts from the Gibson scrapyard ran by the nice old lady who people just named after the scrapyard, the other part turned out to be the extremely rare rocket souvenirs from the PEAK DINO gift shop. I bought out the whole stock just in case. Can't remember the price. Being a professional Caravan player and a highly skilled repairman money stopped being an issue. The launch went well as far as I can tell. Even adjusted the calculations with my 10INT PEAK HUMAN PROCESSING POWER to increase the accuracy of their arrival to destination. And so concludes the story of the Great Journey. Saint Chris moved in to Novac, Manny giving him a place to stay and I got the information that The Wielder of the Holy Handgun headed towards Boulder City. So there I go off to the No- then I bumped into the sniper from the other shift... [link] [comments]

Two player home mods I'd like to shoutout: Freeside Studio Apartment & Afterschool Special Posted: 17 Mar 2020 08:53 PM PDT After searching, installing, and comparing tons of player home mods for New Vegas I can safely say that Freeside Studio Apartment and Afterschool Special home are the best (imo of course). -- Freeside Studio Apartment is cozy, conveniently located, not overly-decadent (very important to me), comes with its own storage sorting system, AND has a unique (vanilla) weapon display. The home has lots of objects that give fun quips when interacted with and an easter egg for those who have played Fallout 2. This one is my favorite right now. --The home you end up with in Afterschool Special is also great, but there's a lot of unused space. Lighting also isn't that great (imo). The home does have a garden, a healing station, and a detox station though. Overall, a very solid choice and would be the home I use if I weren't playing an Independent playthrough and wanted to be more in the Vegas area. Anyway, there are my two cents. I wanted to shout these out because I see too many people suggesting home mods like Underwater Home/Hideout and Survivalist's Bunker. [link] [comments]
