Fallout 4 theory : Billy the kid is actually lying. Posted: 07 Mar 2020 03:29 PM PST This theory I've came up with recently so it's probably not that good but I'll try my best to explain what's on my mind. There are some spoilers if you didn't play the "Kid in a fridge" quest. Billy the kid claims that he survived in a fridge for 200 or so years. That means he ran out of food and water pretty early. From what I've found and heard ghouls need food and water to survive.
However this kid says he survived in the fridge for 200 years without it. What if he is lying? As we can see the fridge is rather close to his parents house. We can also notice that Bullet is wandering around and willing to buy the kid. Coincidence? I think not. After some time thinking how could Billy survive 200 years without food or water I've realised one thing. What if he is lying? What if Billy hid in the fridge to hide from someone, for example Bullet or a slaver working for Bullet? That would explain why Bullet is wandering around. Billy hides in the fridge and realises he is stuck. After some time he gets either thirsty or hungry and begs anyone for help. Of course going into a risk. Seeing the sole survivor Billy says the lie that he was there for 200 years and needs help to find his parents house. Why lying? The reason is simple, armored escort. Even if the Sole Survivor sends Billy off, he can possibly later visit his parents /go back. When the Sole Survivor escorts Billy back home his parents are surprised that he is alive, and explain to him that they are ghouls. My explanation is that they probably prepared this conversation before. If Billy gets lost or something similar and stumbles upon someone friendly or so, just play the role of the 200 years old kid that survived, in this case in a fridge. As we can see people aren't really informed about ghouls (If you sell Billy to Bullet and try to negotiate a better price(I'm not 100% sure) , Bullet will say that ghouls don't need water or food to survive. My explanation is that he is just not well informed about ghouls.). In the end of the quest Bullet will say he wants the kid. After passing a difficult speech check the Sole Survivor says that the kid isn't there, that they left in a hurry. This can mean that Bullet probably wanted the kid already before the Sole survivor appeared and his parents probably hid him in that fridge / send him to hide somewhere (and in panic he could hide in the fridge). Of course with prepared dialogue if he finds someone that could help him. But the other option is that Bullet just followed them. The fact that Billy isn't surprised that he is a ghoul (even if he claims that he didn't saw the sunlight for a long time) add to my theory that Billy can be lying. Of course this is just a theory.. A game theory. It can be wrong. If you have any questions feel free to ask! Edit : For anyone wondering yes I'm aware that it's just Bethesdas bad writing. But I still tried to find a logical explanation. Edit 2 : After some reading of your comments (thank you for your ideas!) I've came up with more stuff. Billy indicates that he was locked there for a long time saying for example
This can be explained that Billy was with his parents when the bombs fell. That would explain how they recognise each other as ghouls (Thanks u/Bubzthetroll for the idea) and how Billy knew how the world ended. u/Heliolord has a prefect theory that could explain how Billy could survive in a fridge (assuming he had access to air) but still other things we have to accept (u/Skillbolt mentioned) is that for example no one stumbled upon Billy for 200 years or that his parents were living in the same place. And after reading all of the comments and thinking of different scenarios I have to agree with u/Fedoraslayer101.
This makes a lot of sense, at least for me. [link] [comments] |

Raul doesn't start the final conversation Posted: 07 Mar 2020 08:25 AM PST Raul's unmarked quest Old School Ghoul seems to be glitched. I've talked to Loyal, Corp. Sterling, and Ranger Andy (in that order) with Raul as my companion and gotten all three conversations, but the final one doesn't start for some reason. Any tips? [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 Survival Mode - Can't Access the Institute Posted: 07 Mar 2020 02:12 PM PST I finished the main story in Fallout 4 on hard mode and I decided to turn it up to Survival mode. I sided with the Institute, but I can't access the Institute because fast travel isn't allowed. How do I get past this? [link] [comments] |

My cool 70's, 80's radio-station Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:39 PM PST In the next game they make, wherever it is, they should add some underground punk radio-station run by Ghoulified teenagers. The music could be super 80's and 70's and feature tons of punk rock like The Clash and similar bands. It could be sourced to music made by and glorified by the young Americans and teens of the '80s and '70s who were generally looked down upon. Indicating why the music sorta whisped away in Fallouts universe. There could even be comments by the NPC's when you play the station like the younger individuals would cheer you on and the older folk would get annoyed and complain. You could expand on it by having the owners of the station live underground, and basically exist hiding away from people, and most could be ghouls as stated prior. They could find some enjoyment in the music since it was disliked by most, similar to how a lot of people dislike them and are racist towards their race as a whole. Small list of songs I'd use: - Baba O'Riley (The Who) - Who are you (The Who) - Know your rights (The Clash) - Atom Tan (The Clash) *Ghouls have a bad case of this *wink* *wink* - Inoculated City (The Clash) - This is radio clash (The Clash) - Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash) *The lead ghoul could mention the song was requested by a deserted powder ganger from the Mojave - Material Girl (Madonna) *Good for when you're clearing out a band of raiders - It's the end of the world as we know it (R.E.M) *Obviously - Walking on the Moon (The Police) *For those late-night wasteland strolls - Superstition (Stevie Wonder) - Wanted Dead or Alive (Bon Jovi) *For when you accidentally steal the Sweet Roll from that one ladies house - American Woman - I'm Still Standing (Elton John) - Rocketman (Elton John) - Rock the Casbah (The Clash) - Doom and Gloom (The Rolling Stones) *Could also work as trailer music - Rock me Amadeus (Falco) - Out of touch (Daryl Hall & John Oates) Now for songs they could parody to fit Fallout... - Jet Blues (Cocaine Blues - Johnny Cash) - Karma's right-hand (Devils right hand - Johnny Cash) - Kickstart my Psycho (Kickstart my heart - Motley Crue) - Over-encumbered (Outta Space - Van Halen) - Enclave Pigs (War Pigs - Black Sabbath) - Der Shi (Der Kommissar - After the fire) These would all be really good additions imo, and we could even have certain quests with these teens and ghouls to help them expand or rot. Things to keep the world alive and feeling a little bit different for the sake of the same things getting dull if done over and over. But all this is my opinion and I'd enjoy hearing all of your thoughts on this and if you think it's good or not :) [link] [comments] |
Lack of super mutant behemoth habitats/homes Posted: 07 Mar 2020 06:38 PM PST Supermutants have forts and bases and, well, I sought out to create a solution to the glaring lack of affordable housing for the big uns and I got a bit carried away. Can I get a quick rundown of the NCR? Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:18 PM PST I just need to know a few things, first one is what state are they in in terms of stability, power, etc...by the end of New Vegas assuming that you sided with them at the end? What if you could replace people with synths, when/if you become the director of the Institute Posted: 07 Mar 2020 11:01 AM PST I always thought that it would be cool if you were able to replace any npc, which you have met, with a synth replacement. I would definitely replace crazy Myrna with a synth, actually... all of Diamond City. Or Elder Maxson and the BoS. What are your thoughts with this? [link] [comments] |

FO4: How do you save as many factions after a certain point? Posted: 08 Mar 2020 01:42 AM PST I have completed both the BOS and institute quest lines up to their respective missions that will make the other faction hostile if you start it, as well as the Railroad quest line up to the point where you have to "work with Father" to continue (which in turn will make BOS hostile), and the Minutemen up to and including Old Guns. From this point, I want to save/not destroy as many factions as possible, how do I do this? [link] [comments] |
Should I redownload Fallout76? Posted: 08 Mar 2020 01:07 AM PST Title pretty much says it all; I played literally about 3 hours total and just backed away, what's the current situation with the game?
