Did anybody survive the apocalypse due to House's intervention?

House stopped several warheads from hitting Vegas; is there any evidence of people surviving the bombs and subsequent fallout within the Strip itself, or otherwise the surrounding area, due to his intervention? I'm excluding Vault 21 inhabitants and people who were ghoulified; the inhabitants of Vault 21 would have survived regardless, and ghouls cannot have children - I'm more interested in the descendants of these individuals.

Is there a reason why so many cabinets/desks have ammo in them? Was there paranoia/violence leading up to the war that led people to have weapons on them?

Why are people on the east coast more racist toward ghouls than the west coast?

Diamond city flat out bans ghouls, and ghouls have to band together to stay safe in Fo3, yet in New Vegas ghouls are treated just fine and even have high paying jobs in casinos. So what's the difference?

How does the pip-boy map screen work?

So, on the map screen on most if not all of the games, you can zoom in, zoom out, go left and right whatever, but how would that be controlled? I'm thinking maybe on the pip-boys in 3 and NV, maybe the black selector knob would be controlled like joystick specifically on the map screens, but I don't know

Are there any legends of the wasteland? Beings or creatures that are rarely if even seen or exist as campfire stories to the avarage wastelander?

What did Mama Murphy refer to when she said "Something is coming. And it's angry."

Did she mean the brotherhood of steel? Why would she foretell their coming with such ominous words? Or did she the big showdown that would determine the fate of the commonwealth?
