Fallout 4 is one of the best in the franchise.

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 03:21 PM PDT

I'm a fallout veteran. Own all of them, bought most of them twice or three times for different platforms. Spent 200 hours in 76 even.

I platinum trophied fallout 4 on PS4, before there was dlc. Had a good time. Never really came back to it after that. Played far harbor enough to finish the story, never touched nukaworld.

So I'm just starting FO4 on PC again and HOLY HELL. This game is incredible. The level of attention to making every nook and cranny matter is amazing. There's story and immersion everywhere.

A few hours in, I've already forgotten about Shaun. I'm now committed to restoring the Minutemen to their former glory and leading the Commonwealth into a prosperous future.

This game lost some things that FO3 nailed and FONV perfected, but it makes up for it, imo, with all the things it does right. I know we all lost a little bit of hope with 76, and I'm still waiting to see what Wastelanders has to offer, but for now, Fallout 4 tells an amazing story, and it tells it really well.

I'm sure this probably violates a sub rule and it'll get taken down, but I just had to gush. I can't replay 3 or NV anymore, as someone who doesn't know how to mod, there's no reason. 1, 2 and tactics are awesome, but not 'lose sixteen consecutive hours' awesome.

Fallout 4 is an amazing game, totally worth playing, and it just now reignited my fan-boy-ism in a way I haven't felt in years. I think I just figured out how I'm spending my quarantine time lol.

Hot damn this was a conversation starter wasn't it?

[F2] Full pacifist run in Fallout 2?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2020 01:32 AM PDT

So a couple months ago I installed F2 one more time and tried to do pacifist run (not killing anybody). So I invested in Speech, Steal, Sneak and so on. It was really hard at the beginning, there were some quests that forced me to kill people, so my companions took care of it.

But when I arrived in Den i began to having massive lag spikes and needed to reinstall the game. Thus, the pacifist playthrough ended.

Have you guys ever tried to complete the game in such a way? And do i lose much game content doing so? Any experience in pacifist runs will be appreciated ( :

You ever wonder what The King from New Vegas was like before he discovered Elvis?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 05:36 PM PDT

I just think it's interesting to think that we know at one point he had an actual name and appearance that he changed to be like a person from hundreds of years ago that he didn't even fully understand.

    Remasters of this previous games?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2020 03:54 AM PDT

I know it's unlikely for NV as other companies were in charge of that but is it likely there'll ever be a fallout 3 remaster in the fallout 4 engine? I made the mistake of playing 4 first and I really struggle to enjoy the older games due to the massive difference in gameplay quality. I'd love to see three remastered, and in a dream world, new Vegas as well. Anyone think this is a possibility?

[Fallout 76] They should really limit how many times a player can attack your base.

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 04:10 PM PDT

I'm new to the game and I've been trying to grind to get stims and food/water. I read online that taking over a resource base is a good way to get supplies so I did that and a few minutes later a level 150 came and started killing me and destroying it. I was able to kill him 3 times with the help of my turrets but he just kept coming back and 1 shotting me. I ended up losing a bunch of caps and the base. I dont see how this is fair. A level 150 vs a level 15 is a horrible matchup.

The Biggest Fallout 4 Settlement Ever Built 17.5 Million Triangles!!!!!!!

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 02:14 PM PDT

Hey there fellow Fallout Builders...don't know if someone still cares but here's a small repost of The biggest Settlement ever built on Fallout 4 in case you missed it a while back.

Long time Lurker, minor leagues Commenter. Number one Fan of Fallout series...Wanted to give you guys something new, yesterday i posted on FO4 about how i didn't get how people didn't like the building part of fallout 4 and i literally thought i was gonna be downvoted to oblivion, but it turns out i am not alone...people like the building...it's fun to see how hours disappear when creating...I've worked on this settlement on and off for 2 years...and based on how cool people were i decided to share...had never posted this anywhere else, but today it comes out...please be gentle :/

I love looking at other people's builds and i looked around and this seems to be the biggest ever built, thinking of dimensions and also triangles and draw calls...if I'm wrong correct me...it's not a competition for me...I'd love to see other builds like this :)

I Built in on Spectacle island for sheer space and named my settlement "The Concrete" and it's an abandoned Special X-Projects Army Base that the sole survivor discovers and turns into a settlement but that hides many interesting secrets... ;)

Big Youtubers only usually build something to demonstrate the concept...Will Usually build a large building but have nothing on it...make non functional Buildings etc. If you're like me, you spent more time building than in the actual game...building is in my blood. After this i will be released and free to play the DLC's which i haven't yet.

Please let me know if you like it...its the gem of my settlements. Will Post more settlements if you do.

    Posted: 19 Mar 2020 03:12 AM PDT

So yesterday i decided to start playing fallout again, i had deleted it because i needed space so when i put in again it started installing and then updating, the game installed correctly and can be started but it doesnt update (1.34 version) it starts dowloading and on the last 200 megabytes it stops and gives an error, it says that data is corrupted and i dont know how to solve this, so now i cant play with mods or any of the patches, just the plain vanilla version, i tried deleting all the save files and still nothing

It should be noted that: 1) I have mods installed 2) I have bought all dlc's

If someone can help i'll be very thankfull

Did any one else not touch the reloading benches in New Vegas?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 12:18 PM PDT

I played Fallout 3 before New Vegas came out, so it took me some time to learn the newer mechanics that were added in NV (It wasn't until maybe my third playthrough before I used any alternate ammunition). However, I have never used the reloading benches. I mean, I knew about them and how they were used to make ammunition, I just feel like I never really want to disassemble my ammunition (even in hardcore mode). Am I the only one, or is this some critical gameplay feature I have missed out on?

A idea I’ve had for the contraptions dlc

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 11:35 PM PDT

Ok so you know how they added machines to make stuff automatically if it has the right ingredients? And how they added the pitching machine aswell? And the junk mortar? What if you made it so that the food machine makes food (of course) and somehow make it so it can be put into the pitching machine then if it's at the right angle the food will be launched into a junk mortar and then you can activate the mortar and get food! U guys all awesome btw

    Character advice for Far Harbour

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:57 PM PDT

I managed to get the far harbour dlc recently and I don't have any idea what kind of quests I'm going to face, so I want an advice of what kinds of characters I could play as to make my Far Harbour experience an interesting one, I ask both in terms of gameplay and roleplay and I know I'm late but please no spoilers

Am I the only one who likes the music in fallout 3 and new Vegas more than in fallout 4?

Should I play NV or FO3 first?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2020 12:46 AM PDT

So just got into the Fallout franchise with FO4 the M rating was hard no from either of my parents so I modded out the blood and gore and was able to play it (Despite the fact I have been hunting and I've gutted animals apparently a little blood and gore is gonna make me a psychopath later in life) anyways I'd like to branch into other FO games but I need some assistance

From what I understand FO4 is a tad controversial in this community whereas New Vegas is the generally excepted king. Are mods available in NV? And if not how bad is the blood and gore? Is it realistic? Or should I just go to FO3?

I really fell in love with the franchise after FO4, It's definitely in my top 5 favorite games so if NV is better I would love to play it more than anything. I'd definitely like to play FO76 (WV native here) I know it's had a rough time but from what I can tell it's much better now and seems to be reasonably playable. Is the gore excessive on the new NPCs and how bad is it on animals and scorched?

Am I the only one that's saved up caps for the impending apocalypse?

    Posted: 19 Mar 2020 04:25 AM PDT

I've been saving beer bottle caps for a few years and maybe I'll have a reason to have them soon! Horrible shit to joke about, but people still make Nazi jokes, so I think I'm good.

The oil situation is reminding me a lot of Fallout. More than just that. I wrote an essay in college about how our world is paralleling the events leading up to 2077 in Fallout.

What happens to the wasteland after broken steel? SPOILERS FALLOUT 3

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:14 PM PDT

I'm wondering what happens to the wasteland after you finish the game and play broken steel? Like are there less ghouls and mutants around if you installed the modified Fev? That sort of thing. What differences to the world can the player actually experience based on the endings chosen? I haven't played f3 in years and was just wondering

Fallout 3 on steam keeps crashing?

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 08:35 PM PDT

I have Fallout 3 on steam, and yes it was hell just to get it to work, let alone be stable, and the game is continually crashing over and over again, sometimes I can play for 10 minutes without a crash and sometimes barely 10 seconds, and I haven't even gotten out of Vault 101 yet. Is there anything like NVAC I can use? Or any fix in the vanilla game? I am using mods but mainly just graphical stuff. I'm running FOSE through Vortex.

Edit-I launched the game without FOSE and everything worked perfectly. Does that mean it could be one of my mods?

    Trouble getting back into FONV

    Posted: 18 Mar 2020 10:52 PM PDT

Growing up my brother played a lot of FO3 which even to this day I don't care for and refuse to play again. But then he picked of FONV and at first I wasnt allowed to play it (my brother was worried about me seeing strippers and stuff) but regardless it became one of my favorite games as a kid. I played it a lot and loved it despite never finishing the last quest for either side. But it's been years since I've played it and I've gone through FO4 (and FO76 sadly) but now on this break we have, I tried getting back into it but I just can't seem to enjoy it. I don't have PC so mods are out of the question and just overall bad graphics and bad mechanics keep me from having fun with it. I really enjoy FO4 and I would say it's on the same level as FONV but I've completed it so many times that I'm tired of it too.

Any suggestions to make it fun again? (Not doing genocide runs cause they dont amuse me anymore)

    Game-Within-A-Game Mechanics

New Vegas had Caravan. Fallout 4 had a number of collectible Pip-Boy minigames.

Should the next Single-Player Fallout game have something similar? If so, what would you like to see?
