I recently just started thinking about how bad Freeside actually is

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 09:42 AM PST

You know how sometimes the Omerta NPCs will say "freeside smells like shit". I never really thought about that deeply before and now I have. In Freeside there is no running water, beside that one pipe that is charged by the Kings. So think about that for a minute. That means there are no working restrooms so most likely public defecation is a thing. Since theres no sanitary water people also probably dont bathe. At the old Mormon Fort theres just sickness and disease everywhere. There are children hunting and eating street rats.

I imagine if Freeside were a place in real life you would be able to smell it well before entering the city walls. That's probably why even the people on the strip are able to comment on how it smells because the smell just wafts over the Vegas gate.

I applaud Obsidian for making such a detailed world to the best of their ability, but I dont think anything can do justice to what Freeside is actually like.

    Killing Legate Lanius

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 08:40 AM PST

Hi, so I'm doing an NCR ending and I fought my way up to the camp but every time I go to kill Legate Lanius, I always die. Any tips on how to kill him? (Btw I am lvl 20)

Any way to get Veronica to stay after I've been vilified by the BOS?

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 08:48 AM PST

So I forgot to do the BoS quests before destroying the bunker so I'm vilified instead of mixed. Now Veronica has left but I'm wondering if there's a console command to make her stay? I tried just setting my BoS rep to idolized but I assume it's too late for that. Any command that resets her so she'll talk again?

    Completing all the companions's quests

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 04:34 AM PST

Is it possible to complete every companion's story in a single game ? I remember that they have set dialogues when you discover a place for the first time required to advance they story,so for example if I take Boone to some place, unlock a special dialogue that make his story progress, but that Cass also has a dialogue about that same place ,will it work proprelly even if I already went there without her ?

    Any good modlists?

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 08:58 AM PST

I haven't palyed fnv for a while now BUT feel like playing again. Do you know any complete modlists or mods (mostly less popular ones since I tried out almost every one of the most downloaded ones)?

Trying to find NPC animation mods

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 02:25 AM PST

I've done some searching here and there, but I can't seem to find any mods that make NPCs behave less.... NPCish. You know, sitting in chairs staring dead ahead at nothing, standing totally still facing a wall, that sort of thing. I've been streaming a fully in-character playthrough of FNV, and for sake of immersion, I'd like something to make the world feel a little more alive, WITHOUT impacting gameplay too much. Besides the mod that adds more NPCs to casinos (So at least now that ambient background noise of people laughing isn't coming from a 90% empty building) I'm trying to keep this as vanilla as possible.

I came across a few mods that *might* have done the trick, but they've been set to private on nexus.

Birds of a Feather Alternate Legion Ending - It's a Trap!

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 08:14 AM PST

Would The Legions with shields able to 'even' the odds against The NCR?

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 11:14 PM PST

Let's say someone port The Elder Scroll's left/right hand system to New Vegas. would The Legion's hardened veterans carrying post-war shields fare much better against NCR conscripts armed with 5.56mm Service Rifle, both in-game and in real-life? Because in the current state, IMO The Legions would never win no matter how hard they conditioning themselves, the gap in the equipments are just too great.

Well, the real question would be, is there any modern days shield that can withstand the 5.56mm caliber yet?

I just saw a picture from Fallout: New California in which a character is seen wielding a manhole cover as a shield so I just want to ask.

Ps. Dual wielding revolvers would make for the most badass character build.

I have the... Old world blues...

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 06:50 PM PST

So I just beat Old World Blues. It wasn't my favorite, it felt really lonely, and they didn't hit the right mix of exploration, combat, and talking to people, but now my game feels empty. While playing it, I just wanted New Vegas back, and now that I have it, I've got the Old World Blues. Maybe I'll play the other DLCs, or see if I can get Fallout 4 to run. How did y'all feel about the DLC? Any of you have the Old World Blues?

Please Help - Issue with Pre-Order DLC

    Posted: 21 Jan 2020 06:01 PM PST

A little under 10 years ago (wow) I preordered this game from somewhere and got the preorder mercenary pack. I'm trying to get ahold of the other preorder bonus DLCs -- tribal, caravan, and classic. Steam says I own the "Courier's stash" DLC which supposedly contains all four, but whenever I download the game I only get my ten year old preorder bonus. Has anyone else run into this problem or know how to fix it?
