    Big Iron 8-Bit

I was today years old when I found out Victor has unique dialogue if you don't talk to him in Goodsprings, and take the northern shortcut to New Vegas (meaning you don't see him at all up until this point.) The level of detail in this game never fails to astound me.

    I love this game

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 08:17 AM PST

I've played this game for years. And at first, I hated it. I thought it was "too hard" and some aspects of it are but I love this fucking game. I'm doing my first replay in a year rn and I love it so much.

Deathclaws are so badass that the Blind Deathclaw actually has higher perception than normal Deathclaws.

I wanted to share this epiphany I had today, working on my location project in Nipton. I think the unique rocks in front of the in-game hotel are intentional, matching the rock garden in front of the real world equivalent. Maybe I'm reaching? Excited none-the-less!

Been having problems with frequent crashes on steam version

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 10:02 AM PST

I'm trying to finally complete a play through of new Vegas, but I can't get more then 5 minutes into it without immediately crashing. My computer should be up to the task of running it, and I haven't experienced problems like this before. Can anyone give me a fix? I'm midway through honest hearts of it helps, right around the point where you have to kill white legs who are planting traps in the river.

Who’s your favourite character from the game?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 09:15 PM PST

And for that matter which major character do you feel is written the poorest? I love Ulysses myself, fascinating the way the world has shifted his mind and world view. But I take great issue with the way the write salt upon wounds and other characters to one quest line. They often get black and white endings and sometimes try and justify their actions with others judging you for it when they almost always disagree with it and just say what they say to create an illusion of moral complexity. Salt upon wounds however, just doesn't make sense. Why doesn't he attack Joshua while he is talking with the courier with his hidden white legs. And no way he doesn't have any tactical knowhow in battle but knows some decent tactics to attack the sorrows and dead horses. Other characters like Benny were nearly ruined but the content was cut (him betraying the courier after they saved his life).

Roleplay build: There's a New Sheriff in Town...

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 02:56 AM PST

Just a dumb idea that occurred to me, given other folks posting their more-or-less serious ideas for roleplay builds.

    The features of this build:

    • Male, mustached Courier.
    • SPECIAL stats: High Strength, Endurance, and Intelligence. Middling Perception and Luck. Low Charisma and Agility.
    • Must always wear a cowboy hat, preferably black.
    • Tagged skills are Barter, Guns, and Survival.
    • Only weapons allowed are: basic knives, war sticks, revolvers (excluding the hunting revolver), lever-action rifles, caravan and hunting shotguns, dynamite, and miniguns. .45 SMGs are optional.
    • Required perks are Cowboy, and all perks pertaining to skill books and magazines. Friend of the Night and Broad Daylight are not allowed.
    • Must be an alcoholic.
    • Cannot have companions.

And if you get it, 10 awesome points to you.

    Somethings gotta give

Want to play FNV, need mods, and suggestions.

    Posted: 30 Jan 2020 06:10 AM PST

Hello, I played Fallout a lot, and did everything. I played it modded already many times. Now it's been like a year since last time I played it, so maybe there are new mods, that will give a new feel.

I'm already sure that I will use Solid Project, Alternative Start, QuickLoot. Maybe Fallout New Vegas Redesigned, (I used FCO before).

    I want some mods for:

    Female body and hair.

My own Casino, with clients. (There was a mod that let's you run the Primm hotel&casino, Run Lucky 38 I saw pictures but I'm not sure, need your opinions on this ones please.)

I think I don't need AWOP, In my feel it adds too much places that don't fit in game, like for example only the goodsprings has already a lot of new places and I don't think that they fit right, atleast not all of them. I know there is Fallout Interiors (I think it's called like that, what's your opinion on it?)

Want some weapon mod, but not the Weapons Of Millenia, I know it's good quality but it doesn't quite fit into the game, I would prefer only some 5-6 weapons in fallout style

Some new monsters, not monster mod, because monster mod adds monsters from STALKER, METRO, I would prefer some fallout style diversity.

New Quests, NPCs... I never used any mod in this category.

More NPCs to make feel the mojave more alive, more raiders, NPCs in towns.

And if possible add some new towns or overhaul ones in the game.

Graphical mods not needed, Thanks ALL

Sierra Madre: Point of no return?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 10:01 PM PST

This is my second playthrough, and I just finished the clock tower part and it says I "may not be able to" return to the Villa when I try to enter the casino.

Obviously, I plan to collect all the Sierra Madre cards, Dean's stashes and dispenser holotapes, and I distinctly remember from my previous character that I was able to return to the Villa after I "negotiated" with old man Elijah in the casino.

Does this warning mean some parts of the Villa will be closed to me after I complete the final quest in the DLC?

Is there a mod that adds subtitles for radio stations?

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 05:07 PM PST

In my case i need it cuz i have the game voices in English ,that is not my native lenguage, but i think that a mod like this would be excelent for deaf couriers. Someone has found something like that?

I spent 9 years in the Mojave... Now I'm considering going back one last time

    Posted: 29 Jan 2020 10:55 PM PST

(This post is related to a post I made as u/JaySeraphon)

Let me add some backstory/context/whatever. I have a big fascination with history, particularly about Ancient Rome and Greece right now. I've been watching a lot of documentaries and tv shows About Rome, and that intersected with lore about Caesar's Legion. Now I feel the Mojave "pulling at me". I want to do the one playthrough I never really thought about as I plowed through it.

I only ever completed one Caesar's Legion playthrough, which was probably my second playthrough ever, right after NCR. (I think) I don't remember what I thought or felt at the conclusion about what I had done. This was around 2011, I was an ignorant, angry teenager and as they say, "I've slept since then." I am understandably reluctant about a Legion playthrough because they are "the evil faction", and I feel like at the end I'd be like "What have I become?"

Should I Render Unto Caesar? What are the Pros of a Caesar's Legion playthrough?
