A brief list for you some of the cut content from Fallout New Vegas

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 04:55 PM PST

It sucks there isn't a particular place to find what could've been for New Vegas so I bring you a post featuring the things we could've seen in the game. I'll mention why they were cut if possible but most related to the time constraint of the game.

    • Benny, Victor, Yes Man, Sunny Smiles, Vulpes, and Muggy were intended to be full fledge companions.
    • There is a companion that was cut named Betsy the Brahmin, which still exists in the games files. Mods exist to restore the character.
    • At Ranger station Foxtrot, players were suppose to encounter a super mutant NCR ranger named Chauncey who would have been wearing a cowboy hat too small for his head.
    • There was originally going to be an option for female Couriers to seduce Mr. House. There was going to be an area where you would go to be scanned so Mr. House would be able to interact with a digital version of the Courier for, well, you know.
    • Ulysses was intended for the original game and had many lines of dialogue regarding every location and event. He was scrapped largely due to the difficulty of editing all those lines, translating them for international versions of the game, and the short amount of time the game had to be created in general. The DLC, Lonesome Road, only has a fraction of the original dialogue which also appears on Ulysses card in the collectible card set for the game.
    • At The Thorn, players were originally going to be able to release the creatures housed there which would've had long-term effects on Westside and the surrounding area. Removed in the end due to the difficult scripting and short development time.
    • The NCR would've had sentry bots among their ranks at Camp McCarren. Furthermore, the NCR would've had mercenaries.
    • There were three ghoul variants that were removed. The first was a glowing ghoul that worn a Robco jumpsuit. The second, a ghoul called the Overseer which was a special ghoul reaver that was orange that would've been encountered in the overseer's office of Vault 34. Finally, in the game files there is a recruit legionary model classified under feral ghouls which is incomplete, but implies we would've seen legionaries as special feral ghouls.
    • Radioactive tumbleweeds were going to be encountered that would've function similarly to a Glowing One that would attack the player. Still within the game files. In addition, there were going to be a variant of this enemy called Wind Brahmin, which is what a nightkin refers to tumbleweeds at Brooks tumbleweed ranch, that would've attacked.
    • Floaters, an enemy encountered in Fallout 1 and 2, were originally intended to make an appearance but were cut due to there not being enough time to create a unique animation rig to fit with their bizarre anatomy. Three variants were planned which were the normal kind, ones that were budding, and an evolved version. The appearances of the two variants were going to be unique such as multiple heads and tentacles which would've resulted in more unique animations that would've been more expensive.
    • At Vault 22, players were intended to find a disabled sentry bot named Koch who would've had a small quest to repair them and likely serve as a companion for the game. The character is within the files along with the quest though it has incomplete scripting so it is unplayable. Furthermore, Vault 22 had another robot we were suppose to encounter named Bohr, a protectron. Dialogue were recorded and all but at the last second they were cut.
    • Emily Ortal, a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse that help create Yes Man, has cut dialogue that revealed Benny got her to sleep with him in order to access the securitron that would later be Yes Man. There was going to be a dialogue check where the Courier would receive karma for flattering her by saying how someone like Benny could only get a girl as intelligent as her through deception and pretty much say he is a scumbag.
    • Players were suppose to find a sentry bot toy that would've followed you around when you dropped it from your inventory.
    • Rotface from Freeside had multiple planned occurrences. The first is that after giving him lots of caps for his tips, he would take you into an alleyway and rob you of every cap you have. The second is that he would've join the Followers of the Apocalypse after convincing him to do something that makes a difference after he became inspired by your charity.
    • At Gomorrah, a super mutant named Angel would've been encountered. It is speculated they would've been a guard or an escort.
    • There was going to be an option to poison Caesar's Legion at the Fort with infected brahmin meat. You were going to be able to put it into the dog kennels or in the stew the soldiers ate. This would've resulted in less legionaries to fight at Hoover Dam.
    • Gas grenades were going to be a weapon for the player to acquire but were scrapped.
    • If you destroy the securitrons at the fort and return to the Lucky 38, Mr. House and Victor would've had dialogue regarding your betrayal and attempt to kill you. Jane, a female securitron, also has dialogue in regards to the Courier's actions. As you proceed to go to kill Mr. House, he would have further dialogue taunting you before he begs for his life when you reach his chamber.
    • It was planned that you were going to be able to spare Mr. House instead of killing him when you sided with other factions in the game. This is evident by several clues that hinted Mr. House would've surrender to the NCR in a cut note, and by scrapped recorded dialogue of New Vegas citizens and securitrons.
    • You were going to be able to convince Mr. House and the Brotherhood of Steel to join forces.
    • At Forlorn Hope, if you assist Caesar's Legion, a mass grave of NCR soldiers would've spawned.
    • It was planned that one was going to be able to continue playing after the battle of Hoover Dam to see the effect of their choices.
    • Players were originally going to encounter the last survivor of Vault 11.
    • The crashed vertibird site was originally going to have it's pilot near the wreckage, alive and well. What role they would've played is unknown but likely explain the circumstances of the crash.
    • When you turn off the broadcasting at Black Mountain, one of the radio dishes were suppose to explode. Mods restore this.
    • If players saved Benny from Caesar's Legion, players would be able to encounter him at Novac where he would try to kill you.

I think there is more interesting stuff. The game had so much planned content.

To this day, Mr. House's 90-second description of the Brotherhood of Steel remains the most brutal takedown in the entire Fallout franchise

I remember wanting to help conserve the Brotherhood in my first [House] playthrough. And then I'm talking to him and I get this savage expose dropped on me.

The best thing about it was that after seeing what the BoS is like Fallout 4, I hated the fact that I couldn't say he was wrong.

Update: running as administrator fixes it. Really simple solution I didn't think of.

[Fallout 4] How to maximize xp gain

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 05:22 PM PST

My character currently has an insane amount of 33 intelligence due to the inquisitor's cowl, and unyielding armor on all body parts except for the right leg, a fancy suit and tie, and some DRUGS (1 berry mentats). If i had the proper equipment, i could make him have an extra 3 with an unyielding right leg, an extra 3 with daddy-o, 1 with a perk point in intelligence, and lastly 1 more for night person rank 2, adding up to a total of 38 intelligence, granting an extra 114% more xp from any source. With the lover's embrace perk and some squirrel stew, i can bump the extra xp gain to a whopping 131% extra xp form any source.

I need help with For the Republic part 2

    Posted: 05 Jan 2020 02:15 AM PST

I managed to convince all of Papa Khan's advisors to side against the Legion, told Colonel Moore I don't want to kill Papa Khan and made Karl attack the Khans (who then killed him). After that, Papa agreed to break the alliance with the Legion but refused to support the NCR, which completed the quest "Oh my Papa" but not for the republic. I thought i could convince him to support the NCR but i wanted to do some side quests first. When i returned, i only had the option to ask him some generic questions. I tried to talk with Regis but i only had the option to ask him about Papa Khan. I even tried to return to Colonel Moore to turn in the quest but i only had the option to ask her some generic questions. I decided to use a stealth boy and kill Papa Khan but that didn't change anything and i can only say "Goodbye" to Regis now. The quest marker leads to the Great Khan Longhouse but when i go in there it leads outside. What should i do? Is there any way to complete the quest without killing the Khans? I can load to an earlier save where Papa Khan was still alive if needed.

Would an electric shocker be effective against power-armor?

I mean the whole armor is made of metal and metal carries electricity, so wouldn't it be an easy way to fight enemies wearing power-armor?

Beat main story missions for fo4 and have some questions

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 11:39 PM PST

I beat the main story siding with the institute and taking down the BOS at the end. Few questions: 1. are there any big rewards? and if so where do I go to get them. 2. what are benifits to playing again and siding with other factions? 3. Did I make the right deciscion siding with the institute/ which faction is the best and how does the story end if you went through with the BOS or railroad. and 4. What do the minute men do? they seem really boring compared to the others. Can you "Side" with them or are they merely just there to get you into the institute.

What tweaks am I missing to get Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas running properly on PC?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 05:23 PM PST

I'm sure these questions get asked a lot but I've done quite a bit of searching and have yet to find that final tweak that gets the games working and was hoping someone more technically proficient would be able to help.

For those wondering I'm running windows 10 on an AMD ryzen 5 3600 with a Radeon 5700 xt and am playing the steam version of each games. I've applied the following fixes/mods to each respective game

Fallout 3 Goty changes: -played with the INI file by changing the one value and adding a second line under it that everyone suggests. -I disabled games for windows live -installed fallout 3 script extender -using vortex, I added casm, and fallout 3 stutter remover and set the max FPS to 60 using the INI file -lastly I installed the unofficial patch by benwah

Results: The game only runs at the specified parameters using the fose launcher in the local files. Launching via steam or vortex the game runs too fast. More importantly even running at the proper FPS, the game still crashes every 10-20 minutes.

Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition changes: -fallout new Vegas script extended installed using vortex -following the pinned discussion on the steam page I used vortex to download and install new Vegas anti crash, 4gb executable, CASM, stutter remover (set the FPS to 60 in the INI file), and YUP

Results: the game runs at the proper FPS when launched via steam or fose launcher. Launching in vortex has the game running too fast. Casm works and YUP works properly as I can hear "stars on the midnight range" on radio new Vegas. Unfortunately the game still experiences crashes admittedly not as bad as fallout 3 though. Game goes 30-45 minutes without a crash and crashes usually occur in loading but that's not always the case.

Is there anything else I should be trying? I understand fallout 3 is just a lousy port and will always likely be a headache but I'm more perplexed as to why fallout new Vegas isn't working with the applied mods and patches. Any help would be appreciated!

Help! My brother managed to disable Dr. Mobius' Infinate stash mod spawning?

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 04:31 PM PST

My 12yr old brother got Fallout 4 for Christmas, so I got him a few "essential" mods so he can play without issues (his focus is shit). So I downloaded Dr. Mobius' Inifnate Stash. We got it installed, the cellar appeared it Sanctuary, he can still access it. He was able to grab a whole bunch of stuff. I stopped by the next week (don't live there) and he's saying he really needs my help. He's done a TON of building, and is out of building supplies, but the stash isn't regenerating. The button you push to respawn it says it's disabled. Turns out he took the fusion power core powering the lab. He has some in his inventory, but can't seem to replace this. I don't know if he did anything else to fuck it up. I tried googling it, but couldn't find anything.

Is there a secret to fix this, or can you refer me to a way to fix it? You would make the coolest big sister if I could.

First playthrough in FNV, just finished OWB and I reached the max level 50.. Am I leveling too fast?

    Posted: 05 Jan 2020 01:06 AM PST

I do play with a little bit of OCD though by opening every locked chest, door or container and terminal.. also I invested in high speech so every speech check adds to the equation.

And I'm up to the point where I have to choose between NCR, Legion, House or Yes Man.. and have done enough quests for each faction until they gave me a warning to not help others..

I even have the Skilled Trait to slow down exp but still maxed out way too early I think..

    Pre-War Memory Den

    Posted: 04 Jan 2020 06:55 PM PST

I think it would have been cool if you could go to the memory den after destroying the institute and you could pay to use the memory loungers to relive moments before the war where there could be some extra scenes of Nate, Nora, and Shaun doing things like shopping, going to the park, etc. Would be a good way to learn more backstory and would be fun to see more pre-war things then just the starting scene.
