Posted: 04 Dec 2019 01:17 AM PST Concord alone is a good example... on your way through the city you see plenty of boarded up buildings that show no structural damage on the outside. Same for about every place on the map... yet the survivors you meet are building makeshift settlements with holes in the roofs and using scrap lumber for walls... I never understood why they just don't take a crowbar to a couple of the houses... rip the wood off the doors/windows and live inside those buildings where it's probably warmer and safer than a flimsy little makeshift camp. So was the reason the Minutemen disbanded ever explained? Posted: 03 Dec 2019 07:05 AM PST I get that Preston tells you how Clint turned to the Gunners and slaughtered most of the minutemen in Quincy, but he also states that his group was the only one that showed up, and I don't think it's ever explained. It doesn't help that Ronnie Shaw is literally the only minutemen survivor you find, and everyone talks as if they were wiped off the face of the planet, despite Preston saying that him and the survivors have been constantly on the run since the Quincy Massacre, which implies that the massacre couldn't have been long ago. Is this a plot hole, or am I missing something? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Dec 2019 09:03 PM PST And it still works! Taking suggestions on character builds beyond the standard if-it-moves-shoot-it or sneaky-picky-stabby. It's been so long I barely remember all the things. [link] [comments] |
Why do people in the Boston Wastes suck at life. Posted: 03 Dec 2019 09:30 PM PST Seriously, after 200 years the best they can do is build a "city" in a baseball stadium. The Lone Survivor can single-handedly build a freaking network of settlements in a matter of weeks. Is literally everyone so incompetent they can't get they acts together in 200 years. I mean in 200 years the United States went from a series of small colonies on the East Coast to being a world super power; fighting a civil war and two world wars, and landing a man on the moon in the mean time. People in the Boston Wastes are still wondering around like savages. [link] [comments] |
Should the Sole Survivor already have "known" locations? Posted: 04 Dec 2019 04:05 AM PST The SS is the only prewar protagonist. They lived in Boston, it was their home. Even after the bombs drop, in terms of layout, not a lot has changed. Streets, paths, and main roads still exist. Would they know how to get to Diamond City? No, never heard of it, no idea where to go or what that even is. But Fenway Park? Considering that it's only a hop, skip and a jump away from Sanctuary Hills, they should know where that is. Places like Lexington and Concord and maybe even Quincy should be known. If all it takes is some eavesdropping on a passing conversation to immediately know where the Museum of Witchcraft, I think they should already know famous landmarks seeing as this was the city they were raised in (or moved to, however you want to head canon it) [link] [comments] |
Why I loved the position of the Enclave in the story of Fallout 2 and 3 Posted: 03 Dec 2019 03:23 PM PST https://i.redd.it/s3tqrae2yh241.jpg One thing that I loved about Fallout 3 is how Heroic you felt fighting with the Brotherhood against the Enclave, I truly felt like I was saving innocent people from fascist tyrants, as America is not a bureaucratic staple, or a flag, America is a people, and the Enclave forgot that. I even liked the Brotherhood significantly more evil approach in Fallout 4, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and it's a natural progression from liberator to tyrants, because in Fallout 3, there are signs of it happening from the start. Never liked the idea of joining the Enclave, they were crazy fascist villians, even their power-armor reminded me of Storm Troopers from Star Wars, except the Enclave were even more incompetent. I would love for someone to prove me wrong that the Enclave were not the perfect villians, given the setting of the game. "Out with the old, in with the new" The old being the Enclave, and the new being the Brotherhood. Sure, I found it kinda silly on how they would gun down Vault-dwellers in 2, but these people are crazy fanatics, when did "Suffer not the mutant to live" have an acception? [link] [comments] |
Favorite quote from the Fallout series? Posted: 03 Dec 2019 08:38 AM PST I'm sure this has been posted dozens of times, but what's your favorite quote? It can be funny, deep, or anything in between. The last thread I found was before Fallout 4 came out, so I wanna hear what people think now. Two I can think of from the recent games are: "Damn you Weatherby Savings & Loan! I spit at you."-Captain Ironsides and "Once upon a time there was a brain in a jar, and he lived happily ever after."-Biv E. Ridge Edit: Just thought of a new one "I'm here to pick up an order. Two large pepperoni pizzas and a calzone. Name is Fuck you."- Sole Survivor [link] [comments] |
I just discovered something really sad about New Vegas (spoilers) Posted: 03 Dec 2019 11:10 AM PST I found out today that Mr. New Vegas was an AI and now I can't convince myself that it isn't true. I'm sad. [link] [comments] |
FALLOUT 4 giving anyone else problems? Posted: 03 Dec 2019 08:46 PM PST Game is crashing an awful lot recently. After playing for 3hrs and thinking all was good I noticed the game was not saving..it said it was, auto, quick, and manual but no file was created. I quit and it said saving exit file...nope...3hrs of building was gone. Also...I've owned this game since release...I recently got gamepass and fo4 is included. I noticed it saying I needed to be online to play...which I know I dont need...I checked...xbox shows me owning every DLC but the game...so I dropped the 18$, this after I bought over 8000 Todd Bucks. It's getting frustrating. I'm loving the security cameras and having a blast setting them up...but crashing 3 times in 30min...something must be wrong, I refuse to chalk this up "Its A Bethesda Game, oh well". I grabbed Fallout 3 GOTY edition on Steam and damn it's good Posted: 03 Dec 2019 12:25 PM PST I'm no stranger to the fallout series, (I have 100+ hrs on New Vegas), but I feel like this is an entirely new experience, no NCR vs Legion, no Hoover Dam and no civilization (except Rivet City) My experience with Fallout 3: Roleplaying as my Courier before The Divide and getting shot in the head by Benny. 10 C,I,L 5 A 3 P I know how to play the game from New Vegas, so learning controls wasn't a problem, went to Megaton, did some of Moira's quests, died a few times at GNR and went to Rivet City. Edit: also considering TTW [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Dec 2019 03:03 AM PST I'm only asking because I've got Curie all kitted out and she's doing way awesome. But she really dislikes everything I'm doing in Far Harbor. If I piss her off enough (after I've gained Max affinity and her perk) will she leave me? I can deal with her talking trash to me, but she's the best companion! [link] [comments] |
How is Fallout 4 New Vegas going? Posted: 03 Dec 2019 04:35 PM PST Are there any news on it? i haven't seen anything in their facebook page. [link] [comments] |
You think we’ll ever get the Enclave as a playable faction? Posted: 03 Dec 2019 08:59 PM PST I recently discovered the America Rising patch for Fallout 4, and it made me realize that the Enclave can be written as a playable faction in Fallout, without being overtly evil. In fact, I'd argue Col. Autumn's vision for the Enclave is grey enough to have made them a playable side in 3. I'm just fascinated with the Enclave's lore, and truly feel there are a lot of possibilities for stories and arcs with them. They can engineer bioweapons (and thus cure diseases), command space satellites, and are even on orbital stations. You could make any kind of story possible with them. I really just kinda want there to be one game where they are playable and have an ending. I think they are too important of an organization to not give some primary story to. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Dec 2019 04:10 AM PST Just curious because in FO3 and FNV, I'm pretty sure there were quite a handful of people who didn't have the privilege to be inside a vault during the war and just grew up in the outside world before it became a wasteland. Did they just happen to luckily survive because they were too far from the vicinity of the bomb drops or were other settlements made to counter the risk of nuclear bombs? [link] [comments] |
FO4: Pc format needed, don't wanna lose my modded client Posted: 04 Dec 2019 03:53 AM PST Format needed Hello everyone, I need to format my pc, but I have a modded fallout 4 client I've spent hours tweaking, and I really don't wanna lose that, is there a way to "save" the client so that then I can just copy it back in my formatted SSD? Thanks [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Dec 2019 10:22 AM PST i have just recently played fallout NV and i am in awe with how great it is,i love how every 2 levels you pick a perk and how you keep upgrading your skills (barter, guns etc etc) throughout the game, honestly i would love the next fallout to be just like NV but without the old graphics and shitty iron sights. Posted: 03 Dec 2019 10:50 PM PST In the BoS bunker, when I return the mission statement holotapes to Paladin Hardin, my character freezes in place, I can't move, attack, open the pop oh or do anything other than crouch and open the menu. Does anyone have any solutions for this? [link] [comments] |
