    Should I play new vegas?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:30 PM PST

I have played every fallout game and have over 300 hours on new vegas so I was just wondering, should I play it?

Or should I go to another place to ask this stupid fucking question instead of a subreddit dedicated entirely to the fucking subject, seriously why the fuck are there so many people asking if they should play fallout in here, like, what do they expect? "no bro dont play new vegas" why do they even take the time to ask it? They already know the answer, those type of posts should get banned or something

playing FO3 was the best choice I had made

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:42 PM PST

unsure how much attention this will get, or if it even really belongs here, but I do wanna spill my guts for a moment among fans who love or at least like the franchise as much as I do.

I was around 12 when I picked up my brother's copy of Fallout 3 & decided to play it. Prior to this, I hardly played anything. In fact, I hadn't played anything in /years/ leading up to fallout 3. I remember struggling in the very beginning, getting lost in Vault 101, but eventually getting the hang of it. I wound up dropping it without ever finishing it, & picking it up again several months later. I restarted, & this time, I was all in. I was so wrapped up in the story & the universe that I started creating fan content. I wrote fanfiction set in Fallout 3, fleshed out my characters to the extreme, & even met two of my best friends through this game over on DeviantART (where I shared all my fan content).

Fallout 3 helped me discover my love for story telling, for writing, for drawing, for worldbuilding, & for video games. I'm 20 & soon to be 21 & I'm still not over my love for this game. If it wasn't for fallout getting me into gaming, I wouldn't of played all of the other masterpieces I have today, & I most likely wouldn't have a career path already figured out (spoiler alert: it's in the gaming industry).

Bethesda has done some pretty questionable things as of late, but I will always thank them for Fallout 3.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:48 AM PST

I have and played 76, 4, and new Vegas. I know the plot of 3 and just saw the GOTY edition of it for $10. I don't know if I should get it. What say you?

What are some of the best locations to get junk in fallout 4?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 04:22 PM PST

I'm not talking about a specific type of junk just an inside location you can go to get massive amounts of materials by picking up junk. I'm aware of gunners plaza, but I was curious if there was another area like this, or just areas in general that have immense amounts of junk.

Does any of the creation club DLC for Fallout 4 have companion affinity points?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 08:24 PM PST

Generally I'm just wondering if any of the Fallout 4 companions have affinity likes or dislikes in the creation club content.

Specifically, I'm running out of quests to get mcready up to loving me.

I know I'll get this CC stuff at some point, but I have some bonus money burning a hole in my pocket, so I might get it early if I can take mcready to the capital wasteland and get some bonus points with him.

My Survival no save play through - Fallout 4

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 03:00 AM PST

I've been playing on the same unmodded character in fallout 4 and doing a no save play through so I don't save except for exit saves, I sided with the brotherhood as the vertibirds were huge assets. On the final mission once I got teleported to the top of the building I decided "I'm gunna get out of my power armor and get a cinematic shot if this" and I decided I wanted curie to get out of her power armor also, so I hit the button and before I leave to go back to the Prydwen and complete fallout 4 with no saves I decided to try and get curie back into her power armor, little did I know I was standing to close to the armor and my character is now stuck in an infinite loop of walking into the corner between the railing and the power armor trying to put a fusion core into the back of it with no way to stop it. I can't open my pip-boy or anything. The play through that took me upwards of 29 hours is down the drain for nothing. I feel so hopeless and upset at fallout 4 right now, honestly might just uninstall it.

    FO4 FO1-Inspired Playthrough

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 08:31 PM PST

Hey all, thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Just doing a very hard FO4 playthrough where I only use vault jumpsuits, leather armor, and T-51 power armor. Couple questions.

    1. My character was supposed to be in the Enclave, given that he is a war hero. Basically just another power armored goon. That being said, should I use Outpost Zimonja as my home base? Because of the natural position and power tower?

    2. What weapons should I use? I'm thinking automatic & pistols. Use automatic plasma rifles and a laser or plasma pistol. Also thinking about an automatic combat rifle, automatic assault rifle or incendiary minigun.

Please share your thoughts below. Looking forward to the help! And thank you again!

Which faction in Fallout is the best hope for humanity?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 03:03 PM PST

Would Fallout 5 be in the West Coast?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 01:12 PM PST

I mean, considering they hint the next game's locations in the previous game, San Francisco would be a good shot, seen that Kellogg talks about it. And I don't think the "Broken Banks" would be a comercially appealing locale, assuming it is North Carolina.
But there's something else: Bethesda does not like to define canonical endings and I presume they would have to do it with the New Vegas factions, mainly the NCR.
    So, your thoughts?

[FO2] Is there some kind of condition for Salvatore to not know you are lying?

    Posted: 25 Nov 2019 12:18 AM PST

I am trying to play a niceguy in Fallout 2 and... it's hard. *sweat* *understatement* Especially in New Reno. At the quest Track down Pretty Boy Lloyd, recover the stolen money, and make an... example of him, I am naturally trying to not kill Lloyd. It is supposed to be feasible, but each time I report to Salvatore, he knows I am lying and trigger the alarm.

    According to https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Track_down_Pretty_Boy_Lloyd,_recover_the_stolen_money,_and_make_an..._example_of_him

    > If Lloyd had been spared, he may state he knows he has not been dealt with and he will then hit an alarm, turning everyone hostile.

I tried talking to him like twenty times but each time he trigger the alarm. Is there some kind of condition that made me fail at this? Like not having INT 6 prevented me to have Lloyd escort me to his stash? I have very low speech (28) and charisma (5).

Was there any supernatural/Lovecraftian things in Fallout New Vegas?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 02:38 PM PST

Fallout 3 has Ug-Qualtoth and the Dunwich Building. Fallout 76 has The Interloper, First Born of the Wood. In addition, 76 has the Cult of Mothman if one feels like they count.

I think Fallout 4 had a return of the people that own the Dunwich Building in 3 but I don't know since I haven't played it yet.

Did anything like this occur in New Vegas? Also, while we are at it, was there anything like that in Fallout 1 and 2?

What is your favorite Fallout series faction, and why?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:48 AM PST

Through the years we have met quite the assortment of heroes and villains in the Fallout universe. We've met folks like House and Cabot who have been alive for centuries, heroes like Sarah Lyons, and villains like the Master. But what drives each individual hero/villain in the Wasteland is typically a mantra or belief backed by a community who feels the same way. So what faction did you find yourself most in tune with? Which faction is your favorite, and why?

For me, my favorite is the Minutemen. An organization genuinely dedicated to the welfare of others, and like the protagonist, rise from the ashes of yesterday - a phoenix led by a phoenix. But it was hard for me to come to this conclusion, because there's so many fantastic factions out there.

    Look at Lexington

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:09 PM PST

Honestly in all the hours of straight exploration in Fallout 4, I've never really explored Lexington (or Cambridge) until now; when I'm doing an ultra hardcore survival playthrough!! Any building of interest? Somewhere that would make sense to look in from a survivor's perspective.

How does Dead Sea have Science 66?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 03:39 PM PST

    Alright, here's the thing.

Most if not all of Ceasar's soldiers are supposed to be from random ass tribes in Arizona.

They shouldn't know shit about stuff like.. science.. anything technology related.

Yet this Decanus in Nelson, Dead Sea has these as his tag stats:

Guns: 66. Which is reasonable, I mean even Caesar's Legion needs to learn how to use a gun so that they can actually have more ranged capability than some shitty spears.

Unarmed: 64. Again, expected. Caesar's Legion loves Melee and Unarmed weapons.

    Science: 66.

    66.

    Sixty fucking six.

    WHAT?

WHAT TRIBE DID HE COME FROM TO WARRANT THAT HIGH OF A SCIENCE SKILL?

DID HE COME FROM A TRIBE THAT USED FUCKING ENERGY WEAPONS?

I really want to know Dead Sea's backstory and tribe now. I'm quite interested! How did he get a science skill of 66?

I'll pay 500 caps for anyone who can tell me how to run Fallout 4 with 144HZ WITHOUT breaking the engine

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 12:18 PM PST

IT'S POSSIBLE, I'm sure of it! I've managed to do it before, I've seen people write at forums that they've done it before, but i've recently downloaded it again and i just can't figure out how the hell to run the game on 144 Hz without completely speeding up the universe!

Please! Help me experience Fallout 4 again!

Now that I think about it, the game WAS rigged from start

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 12:54 PM PST

Mr House was onto Benny from the word "Go." He just didn't know it and thought he was being a player when he was the one who was getting played.

The game was rigged from the start! Mr House wins (by getting the Platinum Chip in his possession or Benny taken out of the picture) and Benny loses no matter what (he's either dead, crucified or sent packing out of the region)

request help getting FO4 doc to work

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 08:06 PM PST

So I did the full "delete everything" to try and fix the 0kb save error bug. As I was reloading all the stuff I got a problem. The PS store says all the docs are installed, but my game says 2 of the workshops arent.

So I deleted everything again. Twice. It keeps dragging up the same damn problem in the same two dlc (automatons and wastelands)

Anyone know how to fix this? I can't even send an error report, because it doesn't register anywhere as an error. F#cking Bethesda, same damn engine and system for almost a decade, and they still can't get the stupid thing to work right.
