Is the Mysterious Broadcast from Old World Blues a focusing signal for the Transportalponder?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 09:48 AM PST

At the end of Fallout 4 we learn that the Classical Radio station is actually a signal that the Institute's teleportation technology, the Molecular Relay, needs to function.

At the end of Old World Blues, the Courier is granted a similar teleportation device, the Big Mountain Transportalponder, which can teleport the Courier to the Sink from anywhere in the Mojave, then take them back to the crashed satellite. The Courier is also initially teleported to Big MT by unknown means (though it's probably safe to say it's the same tech as the Transportalponder).

Throughout this time, the Mysterious Broadcast can always be heard. It plays music no matter where you go, and is one of only two radio stations that can be found in Big MT. Does the Mysterious Broadcast act as a homing signal for the Transportalponder just as Classical Radio does for the Molecular Relay?

How do tourists get to New Vegas?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 06:27 PM PST

the Area is filled with raiders, gangsters and Legion plus the rail line to the city isn't finished and the other one that goes to boulder city has it's track swarmed with deathclaws. So how on earth do tourists get to New Vegas?

    What's Shady Sands like?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 06:18 PM PST

from what I gather Cars are for the 0.1%, with things like fancy carts/buggys for the 1% normal carts pulled by brahmin for the well off and pack animals for anyone else who can afford an animal.

It sounds like they have multi story buildings 2-4 stories tall but nothing like what we have today, and it also looks like its an Adobe architecture, if it isn't restored.

With trains, trucks and veribirds being more Military owned though in places like the mojave they also seem more than willing to use pack animals.

I have sort of gathered this from reddit and in-game, is this sort of correct?

Do we know what Caesars legion thinks of Ghouls (both sane and feral) and Super Mutants? (both sane and... far less sane)

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 02:53 AM PST

Unless my memory is slipping I can't recall any examples relating to ghouls or mutants in regards to how the Legion looks upon them, and treats them

Only example I can think of is of course Raul the Mexican ghoul, who seems to have no issues with Caesars Legion, in fact he speaks positively about them, and never has anything negative to say about them, and seems to be the only companion who does so, and the only one who has no problems with the Courier taking arms and working for Caesar.

Except it doesn't seem like it's explained why he has no problems with them, all I can think is that seeing as he has traveled a lot, and comes from Mexico (which from what he says seems to be an even bigger shithole and hellhole than the Capital Wasteland and the Pitt combined) and perhaps he, after all the horrors he saw in Mexico, passed through Legion Territory at some point about compared to Mexico the Legion seems not so bad in comparison.

What flaws do you find when investigating the several Fallout New Vegas factions? And do their flaws undermine the efforts of those factions?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 01:18 PM PST

Here are the flaws I see with the factions, starting with the Legion:

Caesar's Legion -- Relies too heavily on antiquated concepts and believes that the NCR will collapse under it's own weight, when the Legion is capable of the same due to it's heavy Roman influences.

NCR -- They follow the Pre-War government concept, a concept which failed and is on the cusp of failure by 2281. They want to expand to larger areas, but spread themselves thin and resort to forcing ownership of towns to keep going.

House -- Believes too much in his own ideology and business practice and forfeits his human nature in the process, speaking to those he deems worthy in a business-like fashion rather than as a person. Considers the Courier based on how it profits himself and not the Courier.

Yes Man -- Sides with the Courier no matter what, while also seemingly having a secretive agenda of his own.

Brotherhood of Steel -- Are too possessive of technology and hold themselves higher than others based on their ownership of advanced tech. They have the power to improve the wasteland with their tech, but stagnate and keep to themselves instead. Would rather keep and improve the tech they find than to share it with others in exchange for other resources they need. (This is also true of some non-Mojave Brotherhood chapters)

As for if these flaws undermine their efforts:

    Caesar's Legion -- Yes

    NCR -- Yes

    House -- No

    Yes Man -- No

    Brotherhood -- Yes

(Spoiler) Does nuking Legion in Lonesome road have any effect on second battle for Hoover dam?

What do settlers craft or do with goods found by scavengers?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 11:53 AM PST

I'm writing a fallout themed DnD and I'm trying to introduce scavangenging and crafting, but looking at the games it seems like scavengers mostly just sell what they find, I'm assuming that settlers craft with it but what sort of things i(n cannon) do you think would be crafted out of scavenged materials, as opposed to crafted from raw materials like you use in the settlement builder in Fo4

Tldr. What sort of things are built from scavenged parts and what else are they used for?

Is there a lore reason as to why the Legion can fight the NCR one on one?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 01:34 PM PST

It's explained that the Legion are able to keep a fight going with the NCR through Vulpes's cunning terrorism and Lanius's raw brutality, but from what I can tell the Legion was winning the first battle of Hoover Dam, and the traps set by Hanlon were apprently necessary but aren't the Legion still just cunning terrorists wearing hockey pads and using machetes against people with armour and guns?

    Where are the slave owners?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 05:15 AM PST

I'm playing Fallout 3 again and I noticed there are slavers and slaves, but I can't find or remember any slave owner besides Ashur in The Pitt. Eulogy Jones and his gang capture people and sell them as slaves but who buys them?

How is Codsworth aware of the Great war.

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 02:30 PM PST

I dont get it. Why does he know about the great war while the ones at the General Atomics Galleria are completely unaware?

Is there lore reason why recivers in Fallout 4 are on left side?

    Posted: 22 Nov 2019 11:47 AM PST

I New Vegas weapons look natrually as they do in reality. Why weapons in Fallout 4+ have recivers on wrong side?
