Fallout 5's world better be well built in the sense that civilization is finally building itself back up

I dont want people living in run down shacks. I want more communities, so civilized buildings, more rebuilding after the War, if it's all still broken mainly then what's the point of even wanting to be a normal person in the Wasteland? It's all going to stay like shit anyways.

I want old landmarks refurbished and built up to be cities or settlements. Diamond City is an OK example, Shady Sands is a great example, River City could had been made better, hell if the Settlers can make Foundation the way it is, why can't people 200 years from F76 do the same?

I want an old school to be a new settlement, old stadium, rebuilding churches, and destroyed neighborhoods brought back to some sort of civilized resemblance.

If you want the main city to still be run down and destroyed, sure but at least give us small pockets of civilization with clean water.

Fallout 4 - Diamond City was a huge disappointment

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 07:37 PM PDT

Diamonds City had a lot of anticipation and that was built upon for a while until we discovered it, from Trash can Carla, Preston Garvey, basically all the factions.

"The Great Green Jewel of The Commonwealth" I'm so sick of hearing this. It's a couple of rusty shacks and stalls, and what?

This is supposed to be a huge glamorous bastion of mankind where people can have a sense of security and to prosper.

It feels underwhelming, half-baked and as if Bethesda just couldn't be bothered to finish it.

It's not a "City" or a large group of people, it's barely a faction. It's just some shacks, they were so weak they even had to rely on the Minutemen for protections against a gang of supermutants.

And let's talk about the traders and missions there, like the one with Cook in the bar and collecting plants for Solomon.

Wow! Thanks Bethesda you really made Diamond City an attractive and interesting place to explore.

Fallout 4 gets Way too much hate

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 04:51 PM PDT

Fallout 4 gets way too much look I love the previous fallout games like new Vegas and fallout 2 and I'm not saying fallout 4 is better then those games but it highly underrated fallout 4 is soooo fun to play gameplay wise it's the best in the serious and while fallout 4s story may not be as compelling as fallout 2 or new Vegas it's still a damn good story and it might lack rpg elements but it still doesn't mean there not there ur choices still have consequences in the world.Anyway fallout 4 is one of my favorite games ever and if u still don't like that's totally fine I just think it gets way too much hate

"After a while, I found myself in the presence of the most hideous sight yet. I still cannot bring myself to write of this discovery, but let it be known that when I left, the Beast was dead and the Master of the mutant army was no more." - Vault Dweller's Memoirs

Was reading the Vault Dweller's Memoirs and the thing that stuck out to me was the VD recording what he saw back under the Cathedral.

Imagine him, who's already experienced a lot since he left the vault. Now he's found a vault that's an absolute nightmare and puts his previous experiences to shame. Mutants everywhere, floaters and centaurs around every corner, human screams echoing throughout the walls. As he descends, he sees more human flesh lining the walls and it almost seems like its aware the VD is there. And the shit is ramping up as he gets closer to the leader of the mutants. He finally gets to the corridor heading to the Overseer Office and that's where the worst stuff happens. At the end, that's when he finds him.

The VD doesn't wanna say what he saw. But we all know what he witnessed. Richard Grey, the Master. Turned into the monstrosity lining the Overseer chair and the entire vault, speaking to the VD in a horrifying way. Did the VD engage him in combat and put him down? Did the VD manage to convince him his plan was doomed? No one knows as only the VD himself knows and he won't say why because the vault and its leader was such a traumatizing experience that it still impacted him even on his final days on Earth. All he would say is that at the end of tne day, the Master was no more.

That right there, is why the Master is one of my favorite video game antagonists. And even with the future fallout games, he still has some impact.

    Would Australia still be livable?

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 09:23 PM PDT

Now IRL we all tend to joke that Australia is dangerous as hell with the sheer amount of deadly animals that live there.

But with how animals in Fallout are mutated beyond belief (ie. Deathclaws) how different would things go there? If it's dangerous enough to live there IRL, how the hell would anyone try and rebuild society when you got AUSTRALIAN wildlife on radioactive steroids?

I'm of the opinion that maybe only scarce patches of it is inhabitable but for the most part Australia became no man's land after the bombs dropped. What do you guys think?

Did I permanently screw up the minutemen peaceful ending?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 03:54 AM PDT

I finished the Blind Betrayal quest, the next quest Tactical Thinking automatically started ant it told me to talk to Captain Kells, but as soon as I speak with him, the Railroad becomes hostile, so that's a no go.

On the Institute side, I just started Mass Fusion and I'm at the point where I can inform the brotherhood and betray the Institute. The quest told me to speak to Ingram, but she refuses to talk to me before I talk to Kells first.

It feels like I'm at a dead end here. Did I permanently screw up the ending by finishing Blind Betrayal? I really don't want to reload the save pre Blind Betrayal, that's like at least 15 hours ago.

(Fallout 4) Does the Piper bug have any longer lasting effects?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 03:28 AM PDT

I've started doing a modded survival run on Fallout 4 (mainly quality of life mods, some new guns etc) and was enjoying it until Diamond City.

Piper just could not be interacted with, no matter what, my character just says Hey and nothing happens, it also locked out Diamond City fully, I even went and got Nick from the Vault and let him return, and he just stood outside Diamond City running into a wall.

Now I've got around the problem with Piper not moving, downloaded another mod that allows me to bypass skill checks on doors and open doors in general even if they aren't meant to be opened by us (such as the shutter at Diamond City) however now Piper and the Mayor are just stood still outside.

This hasn't effected me much yet, even though Geneva said I need to talk to the mayor, I just hacked the terminal and unlocked the safe for the key, so I got through to what is considered the final actual storyline mission of Act 1.

However this gives me a bit of concern. I don't remember Piper being that important in the main story if you don't make her, however I do remember there's a scene that Nick and Piper are talking to each other when you return with the brain implant. Is this going to lock me fully out of the game if Piper is still stood looking at the intercom?

It took me a long time to find out how to get the door open with this bug/glitch, the ways to do it commonly is console commands, but apparently those aren't available in Survival Mode? I'm not sure, but using the buttons on the keyboard didn't bring any menu to input stuff anyway.

My first time ever playing a fallout game, my experience is so far.

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 08:44 PM PDT

I'm what you would call an extinguished gamer but I have never played a fallout game but I've recently gotten into fallout 4 and am currently level 11 with 8 hours in the game total, here's what I learned so far.

    1. Ammo. I don't know what it is but Ammo is extremely expensive, does barely any damage at all. weapons that do any good are hard to come by as well.

    2. Power armor. I learned very quickly that I'm the weakest bitch in the wasteland without my power armor, they run on these cores that from what I've learned in Canon, can produce power for centuries but in game they last like 20 minutes. Seems legit.

    3. Factions. I ran into the brotherhood of steel first and after one mission, immediately joined them. My friends have been very cryptic about their advice but this has led me to assume that this maybe wasn't the best decision.

    4. Red HP? My health bar has slowly been turning red over the last few hours and I have no idea why, Its nearly a third through my health. If I could be given an explanation on this, that would be much appreciated.

Overall the game has been very fun and the stories very interesting. P.S. where are the deathclaws? They're the only enemy I knew before I started playing fallout and nearly 9 hours into the game I haven't found a single one. why is that? Are they locked to a certain player level?

So TIL your followers in Fallout 3 can die lol

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 07:01 AM PDT

Playing for the first time. Met Charon and finally had my first companion. I fought the family and he charged into a battle and promptly died. His head got shot off and was on fire. I thought I would be able to revive him and I can't. Oh my. Poor bugger, I didn't know or I would have defended him more or told him to wait. Rip Charon.

My childhood fear of the Fallout 3 Metros - need to relive it

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 08:09 AM PDT

I have been hooked on fallout since my first (and only!) play through of Fallout 3. Back then (~11years old), I was deathly afraid of the metros (too many ghouls for this young kid) so I would only sneak my way through the ruins of DC, dying constantly from super mutants rather than going underground.

Took me literally a day to get to Rivet City. Not a good way of travel.

Now that I'm a fallout veteran and have tamed (mostly) my fear of ghouls, I want to go back and play fallout 3 again. I only have a PlayStation 4, how can I play it again??

Can you Translate the Audio of A Tale Of Two Wasteland ?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2021 02:59 AM PDT

Hello, as i wrote in the title, i was wondering if you guys know a way to translate A Tale Of Two Wasteland to a different leanguage ( Italian ). I have read that on the currently version of TTW you cant use different AUDIO leanguage. I tried installing it on both game in italian but the TTW installer just stops for an error ( wich i think is releated to the different leanguage used ).

Then i try to install TTW with both fallout 3 and NV in english and it works.

I followed a guide to change the text and subs to italian and the games works, but i would really like to play A Tale of Two Wasteland with also the audio in my leanguage. Do you Guys know a Way to actually change the voices in game to a different leanguage ? Hope the answer is yes :D . Thanks

[FO4] Why is there no Centaurs?

    Posted: 29 Jul 2021 11:40 PM PDT

I know the Institute made the Super Mutants, Behemoths and hounds, but why no Centaurs, did the hounds replace them? Even if the Institute didn't make them, wouldn't they migrate to the Commonwealth at least in small numbers?
