| [Spoilers] First time FO3 playthrough thoughts and comments would love to discuss. Posted: 18 Mar 2021 06:19 PM PDT Hey guys first of all WOW what a game! 10/10...even so, some things aren't perfect but it's pretty damn close to perfect and one of my new favourite games ever as a result. I'll start with some of the not so perfect things about this game. I felt lost starting out and I get that its the point of the game to be harsh and intimidating and it does this well and all but I mean in terms of the quests. I spent most of my time wondering and looting which was a lot of fun btw but I felt like I could not progress. Particularly with the main story quest and the fact that a lot of the game's weapons and power armour become available depending on where you are in the main story. This meant I spent the majority of this game with hunting rifles and being run out of dungeons lol. I also think there weren't enough main quests and they weren't well spread across the map. So basically I would've preferred more main story quests that guided you around the map evenly and let you investigate all parts of the map while you did them. Apart from that and a few obvious bugs and glitches it is an incredible game. Now for the GREAT. VATS is an amazing and innovative gameplay mechanic added so much fun and slo-mo head explosions. The crafted weapons were amazing and hilariously designed and detailed making it the funniest and best part of the game for me. The Shishkebab is the best looking. The BOTTLECAP MINE is god. The Dart Gun also hilariously designed. The Railway Rifle sounds amazingly funny. And the rest were also pretty awesome. Favourite weapons to mention: Some will be mispelled BOTTLECAP MINE Nuka Grenades Fatman/Mirv Laser Rifle Hunting Rifle Lincoln's Repeater Xuolong Assault Rifle Sydney's SMG Terrible Shotgun Eugene Gatling Laser Frag Mines Plasma Rifle Alien Pistol Shishkebab I had so much fun with these weapons and using them all the time on thick stupid raiders and super mutants = endless laughter The depth of the detail, style, story and setting. The patriotic robots had me in bits laughing. The Oasis tree and worshippers lol. With all its humourous perfection it is also ingeniously blended with some really sad themes and mini stories of families trying to survive the apocalypse in sewer tunnels etc. All so very deep and thought provoking. The genius of this game is the creativity it not only shows but also what it allows you to create from literal junk. My favourite moment was when I stopped looking at junk as junk but as uselful parts. I quickly hoarded that shit like a madman. A dark and depressing world quickly turned into a hive of creativity and opportunity amazingly done. Anyway I am still on a high from finishing the game so excuse my rambling. Also feel free to discuss with me on anything! I know I missed mentioning some great stuff but there is so much great in this game. I also know I am over a decade too late but it still blew my mind to play a masterpiece. One last thing....DUKOV is MVP. [link] [comments] |
