    Fun fact: Ulysses was indirectly responsible for 3 of the 4 DLCs and the main story (actually why I think Ulysses is a good character)

    He was the one who told Elijah about the Sierra Madre in the first place and rescued Christine.

    He taught the White Legs (I think that's what they were called, haven't played Honest Hearts in a while) the ways of Caesar's Legion and told them where to find guns, which is why they're so brutal and have guns.

    He find out about the Divides nukes through the Think Tank.

    He passed the job to deliver the Platinum Chip to the Courier, setting off the events of the game. The rest is history...

    All of this makes Ulysses a good character, imo. He's not a Gary Stu and his logic has faults. He tried so hard to change history but he already did just that. He bashes the Courier for unknowingly setting off a disastrous chain of events but he did just that, multiple times. Simply put, he's a hypocrite. And that's okay. It's nice to have a game that's aware of itself.

    Most of the characters in this game are one dimensional. Even Arcade Gannon, a fan favorite character of this game, doesn't make you think much outside of the dialogue options and what he says. Ulysses is not so straightforward. Sure, you can listen to what he says and be like "he's a dick, time to die" but in order to fully understand him, you have to listen to every audio log, listen to every dialogue option from him, read every terminal in every DLC, and even then there's still probably stuff you missed about him. Then you have to piece everything together.

    He's just a fascinating character to me. I think he deserves a second chance. He's misguided and possibly a little insane. He wants revenge against you, but he also genuinely thinks Caesar's Legion and the NCR are bad for the wasteland, and is trying to get rid of them for good, no matter the cost. He doesn't need killing, he's not an evil person like Casaer. He needs guidance, just like Joshua Graham.

    I side with Mr. House every time

    Feel free to tell me if I'm off base here, but I think Mr. House is the best option out of the 4 factions that can end up controlling Vegas. I think he has the best chance to keep the power on, the area under control and the caps flowing. Yeah hes a bit of a authoritarian and isolationist, but noone's perfect.

    NCR is spread too thin, they wouldn't be able to exert enough force to keep things under control. One faction or another would rise up and cause havoc, fight another war for the dam or just raid, raid, raid.

    Ceaser's legion is awful for pretty obvious reasons (I ain't down to clown with slavery OR their dumb ass names)

    And I CERTAINLY don't trust the courier. As I played him, he drank and used chems excessively, murdered in cold blood for cool looking guns, broke promises, stole, massacred towns and generally is a reprobate who only cares about sick loot and ED-E. I have it on good authority that the courier is also a cannibal. Plus, once I die, then who takes my place? Mr. House ain't gonna die.
