Getting back into Fallout 4 and it’s much better than I remember. Posted: 26 Jun 2020 07:44 PM PDT So initially I picked up FO4 early in 2016 for Xbox One. At the time I was working stupid long hours and my wife and I would play it on the little time I'd have off, making suggestions, commenting on the exploration and world, coming up with ideas of where to go next and criticizing each other's prize settlements. It was a co-op game for us, even though only one of us could play it at a time, mostly her because I liked the hanging out and talking. Don't get me wrong it's a great game in and of itself but given the choice of a game or talking to my wife I'd always choose her. 4 years later those long hours lead down a road neither of us saw or planned for. We're working on divorce because of stress related issues on my part and...hurtful things on hers. I'm back home with my parents (yep I'm that guy...). To add to the situation, we have three sons (6 years, 3 years and 15 months). After you've geared your life to revolve around kids and your spouse, to have all that suddenly fall out from under you leaves a lot of free time. Even between work, attorneys and fighting for time with my kids there is a lot of free time left. So as of yesterday I saw FO4 GOTY on sale. I figured why not, my laptop, while 4 years old should have the chops to handle the game on acceptable graphics so I made the purchase. On hearing Inon Zur's opening soundtrack (goosebumps) I remember the hours spent exploring and building. And while Fallout 4 may lack the ambiguity and gray morals of 1, 2, 3 and NV, the mindless exploration, salvage and building of settlements very much appeals to me in that it will help absorb that free time I find myself an unwilling participant in. The first time I played this game I just put it down and never finished it. I'm looking forward to correcting that this time. [link] [comments] |
[META] Why don’t “is ______ worth it?” posts count as low effort content? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 07:40 AM PDT Everyday there's like several threads of "is insert Fallout game here worth playing?" and I have to ask why is this not considered low effort content? A quick skim of this sub, littered with content from all of the Fallout games, or a google/youtube search, would answer that question for you and then some. [link] [comments] |
Why does diamond city’s jail exist? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:01 AM PDT You see, in the big dig quest, you have to break a guy out of the jail behind the clothes shop in Diamond. This was the first I'd ever heard of it. And it irritated me a lot. Because whenever I accidentally steal a cup of noodles from Takahashi, the collective population of the city comes together and GANGBANGS me. Why do they have a jail if they just execute you for the smallest shit? Seems like either cut content, or a wasted opportunity. [link] [comments] |
Some Fallout/ Fallout-esque postcards I printed out and weathered! Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:35 PM PDT I used some acrylic paints and satin clear coat to make it look more post apocalyptic! The original ones also show the back of the cards as well. This was part of a care package for my girlfriend with the covid going on right now! [link] [comments] |
People who live in a city/place that a fallout game took place Posted: 27 Jun 2020 03:14 AM PDT How does it feel to explore a place you know well and to see it destroyed, does it evoke personal emotion, is the fallout interpretation of the city accurate to they layout of the place in real life? (streets and buildings) just something I have wondered because I live in bumfuck nowhere :/ [link] [comments] |
I sold over 2000+ copies of Fallout 3,NV,and 4 over the span of 2 years. Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:52 PM PDT I used to work at a gamestop during 2017/2018 in a busy area so we would get alot of foot traffic.About a week after my hiring a mom with her kid walked in and asked me what I would suggest for a video game for her son.It was pretty obvious that she was new to video games so I used that to my advantage and told her that if her son wanted a shoot'em up game with a good story plot then he would like either the Fallout games or Elder Scrolls. She ended up buying the NV and 3 bundle because they were cheaper than ES.About a day later she came back into the store and thanked me for my suggestion and said that her son REALLY liked the games. Proud of my success I convinced my boss to give me another shift at the desk and he said yes so I continued preying on mom's and their that are new to games and convinced them to buy Fallout games and sometimes a couple days later they would come back and buy another game and as I was scanning it they would tell me that their kids loved the games. And repeat. My boss saw that the games were selling like hotcakes and later my boss told me that I needed to stop convincing parents to buy their kids Fallout as he was losing money continually ordering Fallout games. And no before you ask no I was not fired for this but I was fired for having a scuffle with a employee over something else. I decided to share this because I thought you guys and gals would get a laugh out of this because I sure did. [link] [comments] |
Sharpie'd Nuka Quantum mousepad Posted: 26 Jun 2020 07:21 PM PDT |
Posted: 26 Jun 2020 05:18 PM PDT I never really questioned it when I played fallout 3 for the first time way back when it was released. I figured it was just for game strategy against a mob of opponents. So I always thought that and decided to leave it at that. While also never thinking about it again because it's trivial. I understand not everything needs lore, but is there lore behind vehicles being powered by something special? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2020 09:12 PM PDT How the heck does the mysterious stranger follow me in the glowing sea doesnt he get radiation damage? When he popped up he casually stood between three feral ghouls like they're homies. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Jun 2020 02:00 PM PDT So after you get the 10mm in Fallout 4 you can use VATS on the cockroaches even though at that point the Vault Dweller didn't have a Pip-Boy? Is there an explanation? [link] [comments] |
Idea for a potential companion Posted: 26 Jun 2020 06:58 AM PDT Just completed the Kid in a Fridge quest from FO4 again and had an interesting idea. What if, instead of something silly like finding a kid stuck in a fridge for 2 centuries, you came across a buried APC with the door melted shut that contained a pre-war US soldier turned ghoul. And in the same fashion you either have the choice of escorting him back to his ruined base, where upon arriving and realizing there's nothing left he can travel with you as a companion, or you can sell him to slavery and rid yourself of him. However, doing this would result in him eventually overcoming his slave owners and becoming something of a boss character with a new faction. Too far out there or am I onto something? Will Fallout and Fallout 2 run fine on a regular laptop? Posted: 27 Jun 2020 02:35 AM PDT I've played every Fallout game except 1, 2, Tactics, and BoS. I'm not sure if Tactics is good, but I know for a fact that BoS is a joke. So the only old Fallout games I'll play are the first two. Can they run on any laptop? [link] [comments] |
Caesar's Legion are one of the most interesting, yet underdeveloped factions in Fallout. Posted: 26 Jun 2020 02:40 PM PDT 1: Their culture and backstory is only touched upon, you never truly learn what Legion society is like out in Arizona, you never learn their numbers(87 tribes is pretty vague in terms of population, a lot of people use this number to assume the Legion only has 87,000 people in it which is super low considering the NCR has 1 million+), you never learn about their production capabilities or how they run cities, etc. 2: The Legion are extremely competent, much more so than the NCR. Frumentarii are everywhere in Fallout NV and have the NCR 100% infiltrated, Searchlight was completely destroyed without losing a single soldier, the Legion has raiding party's attacking NCR caravans all the time. 3: Caesar is sort of poorly written/underdeveloped(controversial opinion, I know). All he does is repeat tropes and basically say " dictatorship good, democracy bad, Rome was cool ". He never really acknowledges how he expects his Dictatorship to continue without him, the way he says " fuck " - " piss ant " and other swear words commonly also just comes off as sort of childish. The real Caesar was a populist, the real Rome had a senate. I think Caesar should have been a more charismatic and considerate guy(by dictator standards) and there should have been mention of the Legion having a more complex political system. 4: The quests for Caesars legion are very boring in NV, it's all just the reverse of a couple NCR quests, very few that are complex or involved. I know this was done for time but I wish they made an equal amount of NCR and Legion quests. [link] [comments] |
Do you think the west coast will get a new game? Posted: 27 Jun 2020 01:38 AM PDT Fallout is now devided into two seperate areas of lore, the west and east coasts respectively are both massive centers of activity. The west coast has 3 games and thanks to Fallout 76 the east coast does too. Do you think that the west coast might get a third game? And if so where do you think the setting will be? I'm totally up to talking about cool areas in the comments. [link] [comments] |
Ultimate money guide Fallout New Vegas Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:22 PM PDT So starting out you have to pick your special stats. This guide does not require you any specific build but i do suggest putting points into intelligence due to extra skill points and atleast 7 in luck if you intend to gamble, but that's not important to this guide. Put points into repair and atleast have 65 repair by level 14 so you can get jury rigging. Jury rigging lets you repair any armor in the same category (light, medium, heavy) which means you can repair high lvl power armor with the shittiest heavy armor you can find. So starting the game off plan to side with the NCR, its very important to do so. Play everything normally up until you are sent to hoover dam for further NCR tasks. When you get at the damn go into the visitor center and there will be a few easy target NCR soldiers with expensive weapons. Including NCR faction power armor. Using melee sneak attacks you can kill a few without being detected. I was able to pick up a 2 sniper rifles, 2 super sledges and a pair of NCR power armor. By this point you should've picked up a companion. Not only do they help you in combat, they can also carry your heavy gear. Now that you have all this good shit go back to the boomers. They should have a weapons shop listed on the map. I don't exactly remember the name of it. Go inside and this is where the real money starts to be made. The sniper rifles should be worth anything around 500-1000 caps and the super sledges should be worth around 3000 each. Talk to the vendor and buy his weapon repair kits. Each is about 30 caps which is very cheap for the profit you make from each. He is the only vendor you can buy weapon repair kits off of in the base game and the most easily accessible. Every 3-4 days in game time (just use the wait feature) he will restock 2 or 3 repair kits. Using the repair kits you can make your sniper rifles worth 6000 caps each and the super sledges around 6000 caps each. Now depending on your character build i would keep one and sell the rest. Always buy extra repair kits for any valuable weapons you come across and your personal weapons. After selling these ncr weapons you can either decide to kill more ncr soldiers using stealth kills so you don't get vilified or go to the great khan armory. There they sell low durability weapons which is very good for our purposes. You can buy a fire axe for 600, repair it with repair kits, then turn around and sell it for 2600. There is only one real flaw with this money guide. The vendors who give you the most money for your weapons (like the great khan armory) have very little caps so you'll either need to take less total caps or you'll need to take items off them to break even, which isn't all bad since you can buy stimpacks which are always helpful. And the vendors with the most money usually give you very little money. The gun running robot only gives you around half of the worth of your weapons. Please make sure to leave any comments for any needed help or clarification or criticisms of my method [link] [comments] |
Why do securitrons not appear in any of the other games? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 02:15 PM PDT They seemed like such a big part of new Vegas that I wonder why they don't appear in any other games except being able to be built in fallout 4 with the robot dlc. [link] [comments] |
Where can I download that sound, what do they do when changing the Vaultec presentation slides? Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:18 PM PDT I am working on a project for a YouTube channel, and I would like to put that sound in the image transactions [link] [comments] |
How do I get the Minuteman ending after initiating Ad Victoriam? Posted: 27 Jun 2020 04:03 AM PDT I had 'Form the Ranks' in my quest log after I became enemies with the institute. I continued down the BOS path, followed Liberty Prime to the CIT Ruins (Ad Victoriam) but didn't jump down the hole into the institute. While Liberty Prime was taking out enemies, 'Form the Ranks' got marked completed. I have heard that completing Ad Victoriam also completes 'Defend the Castle' but I never got this quest to begin with. I fast travelled to Sanctuary to talk to Preston instead of entering the tunnel and he didn't say anything. Is there a way for me to get the minuteman ending here? [link] [comments] |

How can I get Fallout 3 to work? Posted: 27 Jun 2020 03:27 AM PDT I have been playing New Vegas a lot and am loving it. I like older rpgs like mass effect 2, oblivion and New Vegas so I'm not particularly interested in Fallout 4. Someone on this sub recommend Fallout 3 and it looks really good (apparently no ironsights?). But, when I got it (steam version) and tried to launch it the game crashed before even getting to the menu? How can I fix this? Anything helps!. [link] [comments] |
