Would the courier live as long or longer than Kellogg?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 01:27 PM PDT

I just recently finished fallout nv with all 4 dlcs (again) and I noticed my character has more body augmentations than kellogg. The main perks that stick out being: big brained, endurance implant, heartless, implant y-3, monocyte breeder implant, spineless, and finally the sub-dermal armor implant. And on top of that the courier has unlimited access to big Mt. And the think tank should the courier need any medical assistance. When you kill kellogg he's 108 and has 3 augmentations that I know of. He is also noted to be more machine then man. So all that being said, wouldn't the courier live as long or if not longer than Kellogg?

Does the Lone Wanderer have the highest potential body count

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 09:40 AM PDT

    Lets see.

    Can obliterate Megaton. One survivor.

Can commit eventual genocide against the entire wasteland with modified FEV.

Can wipe out a region of Canada.

I don't think the other player characters from the other games can top that.

EDIT: I'm referring to personal body count. If the player character launched or activated the weapon that did the killing, that counts. Commanding an army of soldiers doesn't count. Each of the soldiers is racking up their own kill count.

If you haven’t already, please play fallout 1 and 2

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 11:40 PM PDT

During this corona season we are having a lot of downtime and I decided to finally start playing the original games and oh my goodness.

The amount of every little detail in almost every area is insane. There are so many ways you can do things, meet people, it's somehow even made fallout new Vegas a bit weak for me.

It's definitely quite a struggle to get used to the turn based system and way actions are used, but it is so worth it in the end.

Fallout 2 in my eyes just added onto and fix most of the things in fallout . Much cooler areas, trading with companions, and even more ways to do each quest. (Plus you can become a pornstar, which seems so out of character for almost any game, but it was developed in quite a different time period, where more was allowed)

Hey, no one will probably see this, but give both games a chance. It's worth it

    But not tactics. No.

Ok so can we address the pure insanity of the quest “The Battle of Bunker Hill”

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 09:10 PM PDT

So I'm playing a railroad/institute play through, haven't really decided which to stick with yet and holy shit is that quest insane. I mean during the middle of it a bunch of Brotherhood of Steel knights showed up and joined the fight. Then a pair of two Yauo Gaui (must have been a random encounter) showed up and ripped a knight into pieces. The railroad came in with a bunch of heavies with guass guns, and by the time I got to the basement group of Paladins showed up. So I mean yeah, who ever came up with the quest clearly figured you know fuck it, let's have some fun with this.

Mick and Ralph ruined my life (New Vegas)

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 03:25 PM PDT

A few moments ago I was entering their store in new Vegas free side, looking for a holotape required in a tango mission of some sort. Proceeded to talk to Mick, when I asked if he sold anything special, and after using my charisma habilites, he led me to a secret vault... I crouched and hid behind him trying to steal a bunch of weapons, when he walked out and locked the door, leaving me trapped. I proceeded to shoot and throw grenades trying to suicide and respawn somewhere in the near past, just to find myself reappearing in the same vault. I tried googling a solution but none where viable as I'm playing on Xbox; then took a hard choice and decided to load a save file from 4 hours of play ago. Then, in an instant realized I saved the current game, in which I'm trapped, in the file which was the nearest, and I could've lost about 10 hours or more of progress. So I quickly ran and disconnected my Xbox wire so it tarn off, followed by my re connecting the wire and my Xbox not turning on. I'm currently waiting for my Xbox to revive, and if it does, to check if I didn't just throw away all of my process. If I succeeded by turning the Xbox off, the Hoover dam battle is the next main mission to follow as I just installed a chip in el dorado or something like that, but if I failed, my checkpoint is barely telling Caesar what I decided was going to be Benny's fate.

Has anyone else gotten the urge to go back and play these games when lockdown started?

Lone Wanderer really could have done more with Vault 112

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 05:57 PM PDT

They find this underground room full of virtual reality machines which can put you into various completely convincing simulations of safe, pleasant, comfortable situations, but afterwards they just wander off and never return. If I was the Lone Wanderer, I would've hauled the dead bodies out of the loungers within five minutes and stuck a sign up outside reading, "1 hour- 100 caps".

(Obviously this is in the event of ending Braun's torture porn cycle and taking his power away. If there was no way to remove him from the simulations I suppose you'd just have to ask customers to ignore the weird little girl talking with the voice of an old German man)

(Lonesome Road SPOILERS) Anyone else felt good about sparing Ulysses in the end instead of opposing him and seeing him stare at the Divide over the edge?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 01:36 AM PDT

Wish I could pat him in the back for letting go of the grudge about the Divide getting ruined..

I felt like I gained and saved a bro even after all the things he'd done.. Feels goosd to know Ulysses will be walking around the wasteland hoping to change for the better..

My ideal location/concept for the next game.

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 05:34 PM PDT

Been thinking about this for a while, and as I'm playing through New Vegas again through lockdown it reoccurs to me:

I would suggest the next location to be the Mississippi River. There could be gambling river boats, namely the 38 Special. Marshlurks and Swamplurks, that look frogs/toads and catfish.

The map would stretch through Mississippi and Louisiana, with New Orleans being one of the largest city. This would allow for some Creole and Voodoo/Hoodoo elements as well.

The largest new city in the area is called Delta. The main character/PC works as a hitman based out of Delta but they take on a sketchy contract that requires them to travel with Nawlins and the plot develops from there.

    Thanks for reading!

    Agree or disagree

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 10:54 AM PDT

In either the Contraptions Workshop or the Wasteland Workshop, there should be solar panels. Or at least something that works based around the idea of night and day.

What’s your favorite moment that captures that “Fallout charm”?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 07:56 PM PDT

I know we all love our "The first time I stepped outside of the vault..." moment, but let's pick something a little more unique.

Fallout 3 was my first Fallout experience, so I think one of my most stand-out memories was when I was still very new to the game, but had seen an IGN video along the lines of the top 3 guns you need to find in Fallout 3 video, so I went straight for Lincoln's Repeater.

The game so far had been very dreary and attempted to set the hopeless post-apocalyptic atmosphere. So when I waded through the museum and got my hands on that shiny golden lever-action and that little bit of quirkiness had a real charm to it.

What's your most charming Fallout moment?

    What's a mod you can't live without?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 02:12 AM PDT

Across any of the games. Mine is Fallout 4's 'New Character Creation - Starting Stats Husband'. It adds about 20 perks, and gives you 42 SPECIAL points to work with. The reasoning being that a teenager fresh out of the vault for the first time having the same experience and ability as a 30-odd year old 'war hero' either means the Lone Wanderer was an absurdly gifted hardass or the Sole Survivor was a lying chump. You still have to be about level 240 to get everything, it just gives you an early game boost and some perks you'd normally get to make the initial grind more bearable. There's also one for wives with lawyer-based perks, or if you're playing a female soldier you can just use the husband version.

    What's yours?

What is the worst group of raiders?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 08:34 PM PDT

So what group of raiders do you all hate? For me, it's The Forged. Because every single time I end up fighting them it's always them blasting me with flamethrowers and Molotov cocktails and it brings my frame rate down (on Xbox) and they're just annoying, I wish they would use regular weapons

i hope as they improve the engine the number of enemies gets higher

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 09:54 AM PDT

now i know its not very RPG but hear me out, yoy always hear a "horde of super mutants" "horde of ghouls" "the army on the prydwen" stuff like that but you dont see much. like fallout cant handle a defense mission the only good one is the castle. we need numbers large scale battles so factions can feel more real. when invading the institute. the BoS the MM and RR only send like 15 people the institue security is like 50 synths. thats insultingly low still had fun tho

    What is your characters story?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 11:14 PM PDT

Since we're all gonna be stuck inside for a while, I started playing nv again and remembered that I had a story written out for my character. I want to know your characters stories as well.

    A (possibly) interesting concept?

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 03:45 PM PDT

I came up with an idea of having a game set in the Fallout universe, but having it set wither before or during the war. You would be able to explore pre-war locations from previous fallout games, such as the commonwealth or the capital wasteland. You could tlk to people and get a real sense of the tension between countries, and, as the FO4 opening put it, the death of the american dream. Granted, the gameplay would have to be adjusted, since everything is built around exploring the wasteland, which is why I think if this happened, it wouldn't be "Fallout 5" or anything, you could just have it be a spinoff. Do you guys think this has any potential?

Fallout 4 everything out of sync!

    Posted: 30 Mar 2020 12:17 AM PDT

I installed Fallout 4 on my virtual machine and when I played, the audio was out of sync. My movement speed was so fast. I am getting well over 160+ fps most of the time. Then I remembered in Fallout 76 your walkspeed was based on fps? I don't know if it something like that. Any help appreciated.

Does Anyone like to Imagine their lone wanderer also as the courier.

    Posted: 29 Mar 2020 08:30 PM PDT

I have a head canon that the protagonist in 3 and new vegas is the same person. Maybe after 3 & it's dlc the LW wanted to do something else and became a courier. It could work because the courier's back story is whatever you want it to be. I think it's pretty epic because once you get to the battle of Hoover damn you been through a lot and when you get to the ending slide you truly are saying goodbye to a character who experienced both F3 and New Vegas . ( forgot to put ? At the end of title)
