Fallout | The fallout community is so nice. I purposely created a new character because everyone online was doing everything for me and it ruined the game for me so I made a new character and first 10 minutes I join the game this guy gives me two fully upgraded guns for my level and 1000 ammo.

Turns out, when the apocalypse happens, the new currency will be squares of toilet paper. Craps, if you will.

Turns out, it was rigged to the wall beside the toilet from the start.

Why hasn't Bethesda invested in Fallout novels or comics?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 04:24 PM PDT

I think the setting of Fallout would be perfect for a Grimbright novel series that focuses on survival in the wastes from the perspective of wastelanders. Hell, they already have some good lore to cover in books that can cover trilogies like the NCR-Brotherhood War or the formation of the NCR and Elder Lysons in the Capital Wasteland and their war with the super mutants.

So imma talk about fallout 4 redesigns real fast.

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 09:03 PM PDT

Fallout 4 had a TON of redesigns and I would like to share my opinion on them and I would also enjoy your views.

First of all Im gonna start out small with the molerats. I personally love this redesign and I think it is better than the original.

Power armor, what can I say about power armor that has not been said before, its huge, strong, clunky, and awesome. I just personally hate how we dont need training. (Although we could iust write it off with the sole survivors military experience)

Deathsclaws, Although I prefer the yellow-ish colors to them I do like the actual model and the way they attack.

Mirelurks, I would say that they are improved especially the mirelurk kings. Eugh.

Ghouls, I personally do not mind the non feral ghoul design but I can see why some like it and other dislike it but I cannot say the same for ferals. I personally hate the feral ghouls model but LOVE the animation.

Robots, They seem more realized versions of the older models.

Guns, I like a few of them such as the hunting rifle and the minigun but I hate the way the 10mm looks.

Centaurs (Concept art), JESUS FUCKING CHRIST KILL IT.

Anyways let me know what you all think and If I missed any you would like to hear about just let me know.

Can somone who has fallout 76 tell me if its worth playing it now?

    Posted: 16 Mar 2020 01:33 AM PDT

My brother bought me fallout 76 a while back but I never got around to playing it cause it was at my dads and I only just remembered I had it and when I looked all of the reviews from 2018 to early 2019 all day about how disappointing and bad it is so I was wondering if it was still worth me playing it ?

[Fallout 4] I want to betray the institute without hurting any of the synths, so which character (more like scientist) should I kill?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 08:02 PM PDT

I am trying to get the good ending with both of the Boss and RR intact. So, now I'm trying to betray without causing all synths to go after my ass.

Bethesda being surprised about PVP: how preconceptions led to this

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 09:02 PM PDT

Alright guys, Bethesda's gone on record saying that they're surprised not more people engaged in PVP. Aside from janky mechanics, there's a very good reason for this: the game's tone.

Fallout has always been a sort of "glass half-full" kinda franchise. People die and get hurt, but good people still exist despite the devastation and will always try (and often succeed!) at creating a better world. Look at how saving one girl in Fallout 1 started a mighty nation, a misguided one, but ultimately one that tries to do good by its citizens. Look at how one man stopped a second apocalypse aboard the Enclave Oil Rig and reunited two wayward peoples in the process. Look at how another man stopped the Enclave a second time and helped give clean water to the Wastes. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

This atmosphere attracts people that don't necessarily want to engage in nonconsensual PVP despite it being a major feature of the game. After all, if you participate in this mechanic, you're nothing better than a Raider. And who wants to be a Raider? People that like the sight of their own blood, that's who.

So yeah. Essentially, engaging in PVP is essentially going against the "hero fantasy" and the overall tone of Fallout, so the people who play 76 because of its nature as a Fallout game don't generally want to engage in it. They want to build shit and engage in jolly cooperation.

New Vegas Lore Question About The Courier

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 03:15 PM PDT

So, I'm doing the quest where you have to hire talent for the tops casino, and Bruce Isaac from Novac is apparently a very popular entertainer from New Reno. HOWEVER , the courier says "Aren't you that singer from New Reno? I think I saw you play the clubs there." So where was the courier before he made it to new Vegas?

Does anyone knows how to reach max affinity with X6-88? I've seen videos but the method seems to be out of date

    Did someone posted porn?

    Posted: 16 Mar 2020 03:49 AM PDT

I can't understand why the fallout subreddit doesn't allow people to post videos and gifs. I don't know what happened that they didn't allow it, but it must have been so bad that even Vault-tec looks cute to it.

Choose Anyone To Become A Companion

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 09:51 AM PDT

If you could chose any ONE NPC from 3,NV, and 4, to become a fully fledged and developed companion, who would you choose from each game, and why?

    For me:

3: Herbert Daring Dashwood - because he seems like such a cool guy, and honestly, I would love to hear his thoughts on various locations when we go pass them (like Cass from NV)

NV: Follows Chalk - I feel like it would of been a great option where, if you convinced Follows Chalk to leave Zion, that he would offer to travel with you. Could be cool how he would react/feel about The Strip, or The Great Khans.

4: Honest Dan - Like Herbert Daring Dashwood, this guy seems really cool. I feel like Bethesda missed a big one here, as I feel like Honest Dan could be a really cool companion.

What do you do with junk you found?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 11:40 PM PDT

I'm new to Fallout 4 and I take everything that I found. At first I thought they can be use as an accessory for example a fan and some toys you find can be put on a shelf or something but it turns out it can't. So i'm struggling with carrying to much stuff and sometimes I have to drop some weapons and armor just to so that I can run hahaha. How the hell do I get rid of the junk and what are it's purpose in the game??

Fallout 4 - No weightless mods working ?

    Posted: 16 Mar 2020 03:12 AM PDT

I've tried about a dozen I think. Alone and combined as well. Some items become weightless, and some don't. Last time I had this issue was with another mod that was renaming items so the weightless mod couldn't do it's job properly but I have installed no new mods, it feels like it just stopped working overnight.

Things from Fallout 1-2 that should return in Fallout 5

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 11:26 PM PDT

Damage eyes and groin: very deadly, but to have a good chance you need a high skills in weapons.

Floater: scary worm, i see no reason why it shouldn't return.

Other currency than caps: Caps are become too boring over years, how about new main currency? (In F2 there was NCR coins)

Boxing: Cool event for unarmed characters

Sex rating: [(CH×50+EN×25+AG×13+ST×12)/100]+KamaSutraMaster×2+SexAppeal+SexGod×2 - this is how its calculated in FO2, high or low sex rating will unlock new dialogue options.

Critical misses: Weapon jams, deal damage to you or even explodes in your arms, magazine breaks amazing.

Traits: Helps create an unique character with bad and good sides.

Highwayman: Car can be used to more immersive fast travel and trunk can be used as a stash.

Digging up graves: Evil way to get resources

But probably nothing of this will be in new game because bethesda and most fans doesn't know the fallout origins.

Any way to change institute ending?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 06:24 PM PDT

Hey y'all, I can see the disappointment with the story is well known, though I was wondering if there is a mod maybe

I wanted to be able to take over the institute and actually change policy and have different outcomes for the end, especially with respect to far harbour's presence

I'd like to be able to send Li to BoS and then alert her before taking down the BoS (considering you essentially send her to her death)

You should be able to free synths, broker peace with the commonwealth , use institute technology to heal the land, use your settlements and status as general to keep commerce up and keep the calm, help settlers understand that synths are no more dangerous than humans on average and that their common enemy was folks that steal and murder or use aggression as a paradigm (mutants, raiders, ghouls, beasts, gunners, brotherhood, old institute)

Open the old access to the institute and bring citizens in for medical testing, new jobs etc

Shoutout to my lost companion, Rex

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 01:58 PM PDT

Played through New Vegas for the first time recently, hit 35 hours in three days thanks to Coronavirus related self isolation. Had the pleasure of meeting Rex, took him on many adventures. Lost him (I think I asked him to wait somewhere and forgot to get him to follow me again). After a few in game days, I get a pop up saying he's returned to Freeside. Go and find him and the game won't let me join up with him again, he just barks alone in the Kings HQ. Miss you Rex :(

    Institute problems

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 06:55 PM PDT

If been wondering how come I can't bring up any of the institutes atrocities to shaun or anyone else there, like the FEV research, University Point massacre, and the GCP massacre. You can never mention this to anyone to at least justify it and I'm wondering how they even would justifying it.

A fan-made map of the Core Region in 2290, following a NCR victory at the Second Battle of Hoover Dam.

A warm salute to u/TacticalStrategy for taking inspiration of one of my worse maps, making a really good one out of it and motivating me for doing this one.
