Bethesda: STOP UPDATING FO4 IF YOU'RE NOT ADDING ANYTHING OF VALUE!!!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 11:58 AM PST

Every time Bethesda adds bullshit to the Creation Club, I need to update my mods list. I've had to do this often enough that it's actually gotten me to stop playing for stretches of time.

Which sucks, as Fo4 is where I've gone to get my Fallout fix since...y'know. Fo76.

If Bethesda wants to keep getting played, I hope they'll focus on their dedicated cash grab game and leave Fo4 the fuck alone.

Is New Vegas as good as people say?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 11:43 PM PST

So I started the series with fallout 4 (late to the series I know), and I genuinely loved it and had an amazing time with it. It's the game that got me invested. Of course I wanted to try the other games. So I picked up fallout 3 and my experience was meh to say the least. I'm not trying to anger any fans because I'm sure there's people who like it but I genuinely couldn't play the game. With fallout 4 it was easy to pick up and understand especially for a first time player like me. Fallout 3 on the other hand has a clunky shooting mechanic, like my shots only seem to hit half the time when I'm aiming directly at an enemy. And the environment is just so grading. I get that it's an apocalypse but having to look at what is essentially just a canvas of browns and greys just turns me off. The story I just couldn't get into, movement felt off.

Again I'm really not trying to bash the game, I'm just trying to give my perspective on it. That said I've seen some video of fallout NV and personally I don't see much of a difference except instead of greys and browns I see sand. The story didn't seem interesting off the bat. I guess my question is is it actually a good game? At least compared to fallout 3 and 4? It is added to game pass so I downloaded it just to maybe give it a shot, but to be honest it barely looks different from fallout 3. Is it any better? Or am I in for a similar experience?

I just noticed the genius of MacCready's quest enemies and backstory. Snipers suck against feral ghouls!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 04:02 PM PST

Yes yes an overlevelled player with the right perks can effortlessly kill waves of anything using anything. But MacCready isn't the player. He's just a character that specializes as a Sniper. His default weapon is a sniper, and his perk is themed around it. Yes you can equip him with whatever the hell you want, but it's pretty clear he's a sniper at the end of the day.

So...how did he lose his wife? To feral ghouls he couldn't take out quickly enough with a sniper. Why can't he enter MedTek alone to get the cure for his son? Because it's filled with Feral Ghouls.

If I Remove All Mods From A Fallout 4 Save Will It Re-Enable Trophies Or Am I Going To Have To Start The Game All Over Again?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 03:42 AM PST

Hi everyone, so I had to initialize my ps4 the other day and doing that meant I lost my progress on FO4. Luckily I was able to download a save from online storage but it has mods installed. I'm trying to platinum Fallout 4 while on school break and I really only have the annoying ones left, not that it matters. Back to the main point. Because I can remove mods from that save, am I able to earn trophies again or am I going to have to go through the painfully slow intro all over again? Thanks!

(Just learnt) You can play Fallout 4 on a 144hz monitor if u cap to 120.

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 05:19 AM PST

Set your Present Interval to 2 and cap your HZ to 120 via Nvidia Control Panel.

And the game doesn't speed up.

    Just completed Fallout 1.

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 09:59 AM PST

I just completed Fallout 1. It was hard, but i almost completed completed it before and i had power armor and a plasma rifle so it was easy to explode the cathedral. I got a normal ending i guess, i didnt repair the pump in necropolis and just took the chip. I helped Killian take out Gizmo, i didnt do anything to the raiders so they got a normal ending. I didnt help out Shady Sands in anything so it was normal again. I didnt kill Rhombus so the brotherhood lived on, The followers got the normal ending and thats all. + Killed the overseer

Can we have a level cap back, please?

    Posted: 07 Dec 2019 12:10 AM PST

The scaling enemies are so horrendous in 4. When I find a raider in a beginning area and I'm wielding an assault rifle and power armor, I expect to be able to laugh at his pitiful attempts to harm me before one-shotting him.

The "infinite playtime" bit also doesn't work, because it's just meaningless radiant quests of shit. "Help this settlement, bitch." Fallout should be like a nice big pizza, delicious to eat but there's a satisfying end. Fallout 4 is more like an infinite buffet of unflavored oatmeal.

Having each "perk" be disguised skills is boring, too. Perks should majorly impact play style or just be fun additions. Hell, you could pull some cool cool shit with the level up system like this. Have three different settings chosen at the beginning of a new character: ultraclassic, classic, and normal.

    • Ultraclassic would severely limit your skill points and give you a perk every 3 levels.

    • Classic would allow you to get more skill points, but not allow you to max all of them by level cap. You would also get a perk point every 2 levels.

    • Normal would allow you to max all skills and give you a perk every level.

Or you could mix and match. Limited skills but perks every level? Cool. Maxed skills but limited perks? Also cool. This would allow for more build types.

Taking the time to customize both spouses in FO4 made me REALLY wish the protagonist was actually a married couple instead of the Spoke Survivor. Just imagine the potential!

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 10:33 AM PST

Fallout isn't the kind of game I can stomach to play twice, so I almost always stick to just a single build. Yes eventually if you level up enough you can be anything, but by then you best the game. I played a VATS gunslinger with some Sniper, and I find out about flamethrowers, laser gatlings, torch swords, etc. and wonder what other builds play out.

But imagine if instead your protagonist was both Nate and Nora, and you could switch between them while the other is AI controlled. Think about the story potential. How often do you play an RPG as a mom and dad? Imagine three-way conversations with companions. How combat changes if you control two characters, etc.

    I'm trying something

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 07:26 AM PST

I'm trying to eliminate every fallout 4 faction including the minutemen and see what would happen, first I'll go into the prydwen and slaughter them all especially maxon that egotistical shitwad then ill side with the railroad to enter the institute. And after that I'll build up institute reputation until I get to the meeting, then ill evaporate them all with an institute pistol. Next is the railroad, it's easy enough just lob a few plasma grenades in their little hq or if you're feeling spicy use a mirv fat man. What remains is the minutemen. I've made sure not to go to concord until I get allied with the raiders, I want to see if dipshit garvey will still make me general if not I'll kill them in the most painful way possible. fucking garvey...
After dealing with the minutemen I'll kill the raiders of nuka world and then eliminate all the factions of far harbor using the nuclear codes and turning off the fog dispensers. Do you think this would work? If you have any suggestions let me know

    A little Fallout Fun

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 02:07 PM PST

I am playing on survival with zero mods. Aside from the legendary weapons and armor I carry (two shot 10mm, two shot plasma), I have not sold or given away any legendary weapons or armor. Additionally, I am collecting every suit of power armor and leaving it, as collected.

I have set up the drive-in as my main base. So far I have twelve shelves of legendary armor and weapons, and dozens of FCs, thousands of all types of ammo. But the main thing is the legendary items. Level 52 now, all I have done is the top part of the map, just getting to Kellogg on the main quest, haven't touched anything south except Oberland Station and Hangman's Alley. Haven't even been to V 81, although I just got the Castle b/c that wimp Garvey was crying about it.

If I knew how to video in game I would share this. Its almost funny how much stuff the game throws at you.

Can I make the varmint rifle work?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 01:03 PM PST

I've been streaming my first official playthrough of Fallout New Vegas and i've been frustrating some friends with my preferred weapon, the varmint rifle. I have no idea why I love this thing. I just got an extended clip mod for it but viewers are telling me it's a terrible gun. Is there any way I can make this gun work? Really want to use two handed rifles and right now because I have a crapton of 5.56 ammo.

My guns skill is at 60 if that makes a difference.

My biggest complaint about the new Virtual Workshop and the Creation Club in general.

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 08:26 AM PST

The Virtual Workshop is 1000 CC Credits, they sell credits in the form 750 right to 1500, there is no 1000 purchase option. I'd probably buy this content if I could buy it directly. Money is tight right now and 10 bucks feels a lot better than 15 especially considering I only want a 10 dollar product, that leaves me with 5 bucks to waste on stuff I never intended to buy. It's complete BS but standard practice from too many scummy companies.

While this content sounds great, I'll never know unless it goes on sale, and sadly this price structure was a glimpse at where Bethesda was headed with Fallout 76 and Fallout 1st etc.

It's like "Hey, if you want this ten dollar product you have to give us fifteen bucks to get it, sucker." It's why the lower tier costs and mid pricing adds up to odd numbers that more than often have you buying credits beyond what you intend to use.

Pretty sleazy, pretty f'n' sleazy, if you ask me. It's friggin' bollocks.

First time playing New Vegas/Fallout in general, what are some must have mods for a first playthrough

    Posted: 06 Dec 2019 12:49 PM PST

Doesn't necessarily need to be anything crazy but even something to help with bug fixing would be neat. Also I really enjoy playing games in third person but I know NV's 3rd person camera isn't great so what's the best mod if I wanted to play in third person?
