I know I'm far from the first on this sub to post about going to Goodsprings, but it was so great to have breakfast and a Nuka-Cola at the saloon! We also drove by Primm but unfortunately our tour bus didn't stop there.

[TTW] Going into point lookout with AP ammo is a god damn miracle.

Seriously, the rednecks were easy pickings for an AMR or even an assault carbine but the tribals man...those fucking tribals somehow have enclave level DT which is nothing when you have AP ammo loaded.

Bless those who worked on this project

How long does it take for the game to really pick up?

    Posted: 23 Oct 2019 10:24 AM PDT

I say this coming from Fo4, my first Fallout game. So far my experience with FNV has been saving goodsprings, disguising myself as every faction I could steal a uniform from (lol), fighting the aiming controls, murdering the entire population of the NCRCF, and slowly walking across a massive f-off desert.

That said I heard about some of the quests and they look really, really fun. I'm liking the dialogue and writing a lot more that Fo4, but I'm 7 hours in, just reached Novac, and still getting boat loads of exposition from everyone who talks at me. I'm gonna keep playing, but it seems like everyone is having a lot more fun with it than me and I'm curious when it picks up.

Do the bonuses against power armor really matter beyond the BoS bunker, the possible fight with Moreno, and the possible fight with Veronica? There seem to be so many weapons designed to fight power armor, but not many enemies with power armor.

What causes this issue? A texture conflict? Any insight helps! I'm new to the modding scene.

I have a texture issue. Could the problem lie here? Here is my list of mods. Is the order problematic? Perhaps I have overwritten incorrectly? See previous post for details. Thank you!

Is there a combo of console commands to retroactive un-fail "Don't Tread on the Bear!"?

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 08:58 PM PDT

I hate to ask this, because the past half hour of looking stuff up shows that this kind of question has been asked a lot. However, I want to exhaust any possibilities before giving up.

I completed "The House Always Win IV" a long time ago. In doing so I failed the NCR route, which at the time I didn't care because I was fine doing the House route. Once House requested I eradicate the BoS though, I took some time with my character to decide what to do. With the character I'm playing, I refuse to do something like that, but I also am unwilling to take the reins of New Vegas myself with Yes Man. So, after hours and hours of playtime, I decided I'll side with the NCR.

Only then did I re-discover I cannot do this (side note: I think it's real dumb that completing the Omerta quest for House is the tipping point for NCR, when I feel plenty of people would tap out of the House route at killing the BoS like I did), and now I'm stuck with either Yes Man or House. I'm upset enough that I don't care about cheating, and am willing to use console commands to reopen the NCR route.

I've tried resetting a combination of quests with the console commands, but nothing I've tried fixes it--Don't Tread will auto-fail each time I reset it. I've tried resetting House 4, House 3, For the Republic 2, and Oh My Papa. Is there a flag I'm missing that isn't a quest completion?

The Legendary Bloatfly fight was really disappointing.

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 06:15 PM PDT

I've literally been preparing for it for like, 2 weeks now. I played through all of Lonesome road and Dead money to prepare for it. I knew this was going to be the end of this play through, I'm level 40. This is my strongest character yet. Maxed out Medicine, survival, guns, energy weapons, explosives, melee weapons, sneak, speech, repair, and almost max Barter. I thought this would be the fight of the ages, the conclusion to the man who got shot in the head and lived. The man who rained nuclear hell on the Legion, by conquering The Divide. But I just launched a few mini nukes and it died.

It was literally my first try. I launched 3 big kids, and it died. I remember reading that it had ten thousand health and 30dt. Maybe I read it wrong, but does ten thousand health sound like 3 mini nukes? I had more trouble getting the cazador eggs for Red Lucy. I had to use a stealth boy and a mini-nuke to do it. And that was back when I didn't have the DLCs yet, having more than 2 mini nukes made you feel like a god. That fight with maybe 10 cazadors was more challenging than ten thousand health and 30dt, with an attack that deals 300 damage. I wanted to go into this fight and die multiple times, I wanted to feel like I really fought the strongest enemy in the game. But all I got was some buff out and psycho.
