- Bethesda in their infinite wisdom failed to secure the domain name for FalloutFirst.com
- Bethesda announces Fallout 1st, a premium membership for Fallout 76 | 1 month: $12.99 1 year: $99.99
- Bethesda, I really hope you look at this backlash today and see how wrong you all are. I had faith everything would get better, but it only got worse, and now I feel dumb.
- When Bethesda drops the price on this subscription service, do not budge.
- Boycott Bethesda!
- Hi bethesda, from my heart to all of yours, go fuck yourselves.
- Fallout 1st is awful but the timing is hilarious
- On the anniversary in universe of the bombs dropping, Bethesda has decided to also go nuclear against its own fans.
- as a diehard fallout fan who has bought every special edition, defended bethesda and even tried to justify fo76 launch condition, i now truely realise that bethesda doesn’t give a fuck about their fans.
- Please Sell the IP
- If you buy Fallout's subscription then you are a traitor
- Bethesda has become a company that Fallout would satirize
- Fallout 76 was designed to be a pay-to-win/microtransaction-riddled game from the beginning and the subscription service was just a matter of time
- I’ll defend Fallout 4 until the day I die but 76 is a train wreck that somehow keeps crashing, and catching fire
- This new fallout 1st subscription is just straight up insulting for fans. It’s such a shame to see Bethesda go this route but I’m kind of impressed with how bold they are to do this to fans after all we’ve been through. :/
- Fallout 4 was great
- Goodbye Bethesda and fallout
- It would have been better for Bethesda to not make Fallout 76 at all
- Honestly fuck you Bethesda!
- Lmao type falloutfirst.com into your browser
- Have to say, when IGN starts to dump on you
- Remember when you got upset about paying for mods? Well, now you have to pay to be able to pay for mods.
- Obsidian should send a thank you card to Bethesda
- When Bethesda becomes the very thing they depict
- We need to act, now!

Posted: 23 Oct 2019 11:43 AM PDT I usually don't make posts like this, but man Bethesda actually might have lost a great portion of their fan base today. I remember just a few months ago I was getting into arguments with people about the state of 76, and I was that person that was trying to give Bethesda the benefit of the doubt to be completely honest. I made the argument that Bethesda was doing some fucked up shit, but it was nowhere near as bad as what other gaming developers were doing. I constantly defended them even when I knew I was going to get attacked by people, and it was all because they didn't exceed a certain level of bullshit. But today? All of that went completely out the window, and I'm done with Bethesda. So sick and tired of these gaming publishers taking advantage of their player base even when the most die hard fans try so fucking hard to see the good in them. I'm honestly shocked and disgusted that it has even gotten to this point, and the fact that I tried so hard to defend Bethesda makes me even more infuriated. Bethesda, a quick reminder in case you thought this was a great idea. Players have already paid $60 for the base game, and countless other prices for the premium editions. Then on top of that, most of us have to pay an additional $10-15 a month just to be able to access online on our consoles. Did you really think it was a fucking great idea to add in a subscription based system into a game that WE ALREADY PAID FOR? Honestly, I don't wish any ill will on anyone or their lives. But I don't feel bad for anyone at this point at Bethesda. The higher ups sat there and let this decision go through, and the lower downs just sat there and didn't try to say anything (at least as far as we can see). [link] [comments] |
When Bethesda drops the price on this subscription service, do not budge. Posted: 23 Oct 2019 11:28 PM PDT Based on Bethesda abhorrent decisions within the past year, I fully predict they will announce a price drop on their subscription service. When they do, that is not a win. It is a strategy to have you say, "wow, $49.99 instead of $100.00? I guess we really showed them." It is them playing you. This game has had an atrocious history within the past year. With each decision they have made, it's to gain money from their fans. It has not been in a better interest towards the loyal players. They have lied and manipulated everyone who believed in them and will continue to do so -should this subscription gain them profit. This is my suggestion. Do. Not. Budge. Show them this is not acceptable for a company to do. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Oct 2019 11:56 AM PDT This new subscription is ridiculous! I've stuck by Fallout 76 through thick and thin, as I'm sure that many of you have. I played the BETA and bought a game that was broken from the start but I didn't mind obviously every online game has problems at the start. However, I didn't pay £50 for a game just to get stuck paying for a subscription to that same game! It's just despicable. Many dedicated fans who supported Bethesda from the start of the game requested Unlimited Stash Space, Private Worlds and other things that were in previous Fallout games, but now it's a subscription. Screw you, Bethesda. I'm done playing, until you fix this shameless cash grab! I'm out. EDIT: - Thank you for my first award kind stranger, too bad this is a alt account. [link] [comments] |

Fallout 1st is awful but the timing is hilarious Posted: 23 Oct 2019 03:28 PM PDT It's just so funny that they chose to announce this disastrous subscription service on the same day that the bombs fell in game. Like this has to be a joke right? They're dropping the bombs and destroying the fallout franchise as a joke, right? Right?? As a side note, so much of the Lore/subtext in fallout is about corporate greed leading to disaster. Talk about irony. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Oct 2019 08:40 AM PDT I'll probably never purchase anything from Bethesda again after this. At least I'll always have Fallout 1 and 2..... [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Oct 2019 09:41 AM PDT as a through and through fallout fan, this hurts to see my favourite franchise fall from grace oh so hard. this shit was promised before launch, for free. I didn't buy this game for $300 (power armour edition) just to get a "kanvas bag" and to pay more for shit that should of been included. private servers were promised for free and so was mod support. I don't think I can support bethesda anymore. perhaps i'll give disco elysium a go. sorry for the wacko formatting and grammar. it's 1 am and i'm tired and annoyed. edit: instead of spending the money on a shit subscription, donate it to charity. i'm not sure for outside australia, but for us aussies i reccomend lifeline, a depression and suicide hotline [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Oct 2019 03:34 PM PDT Nobody wanted micro transactions. Nobody wanted less role playing aspects (FO4). Nobody wanted a broken and empty pos game. Nobody wanted an always online game (at most we wanted just single player coop). Nobody wants radiant quest. Nobody wants shit writing and storytelling. Nobody wants to see this legendary franchises corpse be dragged around in MMO micro transaction infested bs. Nobody wanted fixes through micro transactions for problems you artificially created. Nobody wanted a yearly subscription service after already paying full price for said broken pos. Nobody wants to see their favorite franchise go from legendary and influential to complete laughing stock of the industry. For the love of Mr. House sell the IP to someone who gives af about putting out an amazing product. This franchise hasn't even reached its full potential. It's too early to be dragged through the mud like this. [link] [comments] |
If you buy Fallout's subscription then you are a traitor Posted: 23 Oct 2019 03:46 PM PDT It is only going to get worse. They promised this would not happen. Now, they have the ranger armor and possibly modding support for people that ONLY buys the subscription service. How many controversies and problems has Bethesda faced because of their mistakes in ONE year!? You have the plastic bottles, moldy helmets, repair kits, etc, etc, etc. The subscription service is by far the most insulting. These "convinces" are just convince fees that should not be in the game because we paid $60-$80 and now we have microtransactions, subscriptions, pay-to-win mechanics (repair kits). I would not be surprised if they come out with DLC like they did on fallout 4: pathetic, pricey and small (besides Nuka world). Unacceptable.... But luckily there are games coming out for the next 6 months that I can focus on other things. [link] [comments] |
Bethesda has become a company that Fallout would satirize Posted: 24 Oct 2019 01:15 AM PDT |
Posted: 24 Oct 2019 01:55 AM PDT The development on Fo76 probably started a few years back, when microtransactions weren't really frowned upon, before Battlefront II and all the FIFA controversy. Back then Bethesda sat down and discussed what you could take from the Fallout franchise and monetize in a way to piss the non-payer off as much as possible and what else they could monetize. A few examples: - Bottlecaps were probably designed to be bought with Atoms, as the Fast Travel cost suggests. There is no other reason to make Fast Travel cost caps but to get the player to buy them from the shop. If you wanted to discourage teleportation, a simple cooldown would work too. - Weapons and Armor breaks – One of my least favorite features in the early Fallout games. This is also a pretty obvious one. They even started selling repair kits in the Atom Shop that you can indirectly buy with IRL money. - Limited Stash – They told us that this was because of "engine limitations", yeah get a new fucking engine already. *Somehow* Fallout 1st can bypass these engine limitations for unlimited scrap stash. I can see why other things than scrap can only be stored to a finite amount as they have extra data attached like current ammo or modifications, but such modifiers don't exist for scrap. It's a numeric value that goes up when you have more of a material. Even if they only use a 16-bit number to store the scrap amount, you could have 65.535 items of any type without running into problems. - Basic Needs like food& water - These can also be monetized easily, for example selling food and drinks in the atom shop. Also food expires. - Mods are client-side limited - There is no way to make private servers to use mods, who would have thought. The advantage of a Live Service game is that Bethesda has full control over what content you get, serverside mods aren't possible unless Bethesda provides a server host tool and lets us install mods on it. - The Creation Club will most likely be the only source of serverside mods we'll get. - Data miners found loot boxes – These were supposed to contain bonus effects like higher carry capacity and maybe strong items. This shows that the game was also meant to be pay2win. As time progressed and the public perception of Loot Boxes and microtransactions got worse, they started cutting out a few of the pay2win mechanics to avoid a huge outcry. Now, they are slowly adding the ones back in, that aren't straight up pay2win , inside a premium subscription. This is not acceptable and just again shows how fucked up Bethesda's moneymaking schemes have become. Don't support this shit. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Oct 2019 11:07 PM PDT I'm probably gonna get quite a few downvotes but in my opinion fallout 4 was great. Maybe it's because it was my first introduction to the series and I'm starting to get mild nostalgia but I had a lot of fun with it. Now of course after putting countless hours into New Vegas And 3 I can say it was the worst out of those three but by no means was it a bad game. Fallout 76 on the other hand I could make a rage post on multiple times [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Oct 2019 12:50 PM PDT So with bethesdas latest announcement of "fallout 1st" i litteraly cant take it anymore. I love the fallout franchise New Vegas being one of my fav games. But seeing 76 go downhill time and time again is just baffling. So i decided to not buy another bethesda product untill they prove that they can be way better. [link] [comments] |
It would have been better for Bethesda to not make Fallout 76 at all Posted: 23 Oct 2019 11:36 PM PDT Think about what that timeline would look like had they not wasted resources and time on that game. Starfield might have come out already. TES6 could be releasing 2 years earlier than in our timeline. And most importantly, the reputation of the fallout series wouldn't have been destroyed before Fallout 5 had even entered development. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Oct 2019 11:56 PM PDT It's ironic that on the anniversary of the bombs dropping, Bethesda would bomb they're game. Honestly it just shows how they feel about they're fanbase. First they released a game that was half broken at launch. Ripped a lot of us off with the 'Great Bag Mishap' of 2018. The 'Break it Early Test Application' didn't go as planned because it was already broke. Seriously Bethesda, you don't deserve to get people to subscribe, we deserve everything you have to offer for free. It's bold doing this. I wouldn't be surprised if you already lost 25% of your players. [link] [comments] |

Have to say, when IGN starts to dump on you Posted: 23 Oct 2019 04:19 PM PDT |
Posted: 23 Oct 2019 10:36 AM PDT Oh and remember the "hardcoded" stash limit? The issue about that actually was you not paying enough. [link] [comments] |
Obsidian should send a thank you card to Bethesda Posted: 23 Oct 2019 03:45 PM PDT Today Bethesda reminded people the outer world's comes out in two days and does nearly everything that a fallout fan wants. Obsidians marketing team couldn't have gotten a bigger boost in exposure if they tried. [link] [comments] |
When Bethesda becomes the very thing they depict Posted: 24 Oct 2019 03:08 AM PDT Amid the big ol outrage , you gotta find a hit of irony in the fact that their games depict money hungry companies making choices that their consumers hate . Honestly , can't believe they don't see how bad it looks for them yet . [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Oct 2019 12:17 AM PDT I propose that we agree to stop playing the game until bBethesda make up for what they've done. They can't do this. With the announcement of Fallout 1st they have lost a chunk of they're fan base. The only thing that will make them see reason is lost profits. If we stop playing Fallout 76 for a week or two they will have to react. [link] [comments] |
