Posted: 01 Dec 2019 05:27 AM PST Replaying New Vegas again after a long break and decided to try Dead Money at Level 9 with no helpful perks and using Melee weapons mostly. A big challenge but so fun and no matter how many times I do it getting and escaping with gold at the end in the vault is so satisfying. EDIT: People have been saying to store the gold bars in his head. Never tried that. Here is how I did it. Use the StealthBoy and hide behind the generator near the door he comes in. Move your way around staying hidden. Just before he gets to the terminal turn around stand up and walk out the door he came through. You have to time it just right but it is doable. EDIT 2: Thanks for the gold and silver! First time for both! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 04:28 PM PST Sorry if this is too shitposty, I just noticed this on my 1,000th playthrough of NV today. [link] [comments] |
What was THE moment when you fell in love with Fallout? Posted: 02 Dec 2019 01:02 AM PST I'm curious to know what everyone's experiences are. I have a few but if I had to pick one certain moment, it was my first play-through of New Vegas and I was with Boone and ED-E, who I also kept taking through the next 10 play-throughs after that because it's fucking Boone and ED-E. I was doing everything aside from the main quest, I wanted to just explore everything until I came to the point where I knew there was nothing that I haven't done. My parents got me it for Christmas when it first came out and I was a week in I kept getting attacked by the fucking Legion which was fine, it was fun and exciting but I wanted to get at them. Finally a few days later I found Cottonwood Cove. Boone stopped me before we got too deep to tell me he'd been there before and he would kill everything in it. Say no more. After killing everyone and freeing the slaves we eventually get to the god damn boat. I had no idea what was about to transpire. Still gives me chills thinking about it "If we take this boat, it's the last one we'll ever take." It wasn't. All while Mr. New Vegas was serenading us with himself, Marty Robbins, Dean Martin and who could forget ol' Hallo Mister X. The legion had heartaches by the number that day. Hearing "All mine" from Boone and ED-E's battle music, nothing since came even close. Though Fallout 3 had me loving and wanting to be in the Brotherhood of Steel, through living it in Broken Steel and Fallout 4. It doesn't even come close to the experience I had in New Vegas with the NCR, but it was the environment and the random circumstances that made it so memorable, not the story itself. I love every Fallout game, I just want to make it known that this is not a "Which game is better and why" question. I want to know what game and set of events, be it story related or just random exploration, that made your experience so good and made you love the series. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 09:58 PM PST So Fallout lore says that the Enclave created the X-01 Power armor (Advanced Power armor) but Fallout 4 Nuka world DLC suggestes to that it is pre-war by the Reward Quantum X-01 Power armor and a terminal entry about the Quantum X-01 Power armor, so who made it? New vegas spoilers! You have been warned! Posted: 02 Dec 2019 03:05 AM PST I was playing through New Vegas for the first time and entered Caesar's camp on peaceful terms. I entered the arena and killed all the combatants for fun and to boost my relations with Caesar. At this point I was divided on where I stand with the NCR and Caesar's legion, with the NCR getting more aggressive and less friendly since Fallout 1 & 2, and Caesar's legion enacting what I viewed as harsh frontier law, but getting stuff done that needed to be done, such as getting rid of bandits in their territory. My views of this changed after visiting The Camp however. I was disgusted by the open slavery, and also by Legate Lanius's acts against his own tribe and Caesar's acts against the tribes. I decided I was going to side with the NCR for the battle of Hoover Dam, and decided to grit my teeth and go into the bunker with the platinum chip so I could get at Benny ( who was captured by the Legion ). Caesar gave me the platinum chip. I went into the bunker and blasted my way past the protectrons, where I was given the choice of installing the chip or destroying the bunker. This was probably the hardest choice I have made in any video game, I was genuinely conflicted between giving Mr House, who I felt was more than what he appeared, absolute power through the robot army and helping out Caesar. I decided to blow the bunker because no one man should have all that power. I ran past the bots, and fought and killed Benny in the arena for fun and so that I could kill him personally. This was genuinely one of the hardest choices I have made in video game so far, and I have a strange feeling that I have made the wrong choice somehow. I miss out on the 1000 caps Mr house was going to give me for the platinum chip, and I am pretty sure all the securitrons on the strip are going to kill me now, but I do not want to reload my save and change my choice. Does the Brotherhood hate the Nuka World Raiders? Posted: 02 Dec 2019 12:41 AM PST For my second playthrough I'm thinking of siding with the BoS so that I can complete Nuka World with the "evil ending" as Oxhorn names it. I just have one question. Does the Brotherhood hate the Nuka World raiders?- [link] [comments] |
Mod recommendations for new PC player (Fallout 4) Posted: 02 Dec 2019 01:42 AM PST Hello there, finally I do the migration to PC master race and I wanted to ask about absolute mod must haves, I am delighted to finally have a better modded game after years of suffering under Sonys Influence. Sadly on PS4 there was a good mod, the only necessary one I played with, it was the Freefall mod. So I wanted to ask for recs for similar onces cuz AFAIK there's no PC equivalent for it. And please tell me your general recommendations, cheers [link] [comments] |
finished rough draft of my short story Posted: 01 Dec 2019 09:13 PM PST I finished the first draft of my short story about a squad of NCR soldiers in the mojave, im pretty proud cause i usually never finish anything. Still needs work tho and i definitely got lazy near the end [link] [comments] |
Have I been doing it all wrong ? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 09:15 PM PST In an attempt to try outer worlds and my failed history with fallout 4, I maxed out on my shooting to make story progress. and to my disbelief I finally found myself traveling the open world like a red dead badass Instead of a frightened school girl. Is leveling up shooting ASAP a must in fallout games ? Or do I just naturally suck ? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 11:53 PM PST I recently bought an Xbox One so that I can play some 360 games on it and the first game I picked up was Fallout 3. I've played a ton of New Vegas but never 3. What builds do you recommend? [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 having a blast so far Posted: 01 Dec 2019 07:24 AM PST Got the game of the year edition on sale 2 days ago and I'm already counting 15 hours in it. Survival mode, added some mods (Sim Settlements, Storms and some gun and armor mods) and there you go. Firstly I had to tweak video settings and change the ini files to optimize the game and I admit it took me a couple of hours to find the correct ones (pc is more than good for this game). I really like it's atmosphere and the gunplay is very good. I also love exploring and finding new things and I feel this game rewards you good for that. I've played NV a long time ago and it was one of my favourite games at that time, so I went into this one with low expectations after reading player critics. I really like it so far and I just wanted to write about it. I'm really glad I got it on sale it was totally worth it! [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 Ending First Impression (Faction Spoilers!) Posted: 01 Dec 2019 09:36 PM PST So I just finished Fallout 4 for the first time, I have all the dlc's and stuff, but never got around to actually committing to any part of the story. Decided to join the institute, only because their base looks nice and clean, but when I finally beat all the brotherhood commanders and their gatling lasers in the last mission, I was kinda disappointed. I defended the virus synth and watched from afar as a big airship blew up. That's it. That's the big ending. We got one cut scene, and an explosion. oof. Is the ending better when I side with the brotherhood? Because that seemed really lackluster. [link] [comments] |
Anyone on fallout shelter for android experiencing crashing upon trying to load a vault? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 06:27 PM PST I think my save files are corrupted. This happens very often. Is there any way to fix or prevent this? [link] [comments] |
Fallout: New Vegas Gold can not move with my mind. Posted: 01 Dec 2019 05:13 PM PST |
What's your take on a Fallout game that's set in Montana? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 02:01 PM PST After all, we know for a fact that the Brotherhood of Steel has a chapter somewhere in the state, which could make things very interesting, and we also know that there's civilization there as per dialogue with the Lonesome Drifter in Fallout: New Vegas. Furthermore, one of the potential endings of F:NV sees the Great Khans forging an empire spanning across neighboring Wyoming, which could also set the stage for this new empire to be one of the main factions of the new game. Combined with the amazing geography, fantastic terrain and glorious natural beauty of Montana, all of this could make for one Hell of a Fallout game. Think Honest Hearts on steroids. What does the Synth component do? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 07:50 PM PST Harkness had his component removed, and I believe the recall code still worked, so it's neither needed to love nor use recall code, so what does it do? Edit- in universe answers only please [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Dec 2019 06:54 PM PST This is the Brotherhood chapter from the semi-canon Fallout: Tactics. For the sake of discussion, let's just automatically assume that the game is completely canon. I personally think that the chapter would've had at most 250-350 troops in total in its prime. Even including the Calculator's Army, the survivors of Gammorin's Army that signed up with the chapter after the Brotherhood-Gammorin War and conscription, the chapter really wouldn't have been able to get much bigger than that. Either way, I digress. A penny for your thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Dec 2019 11:00 AM PST What would you imagine a Fallout game set in Canada would be like, we could have mutated Beavers or even a Post War mounty faction, we'd also be able to get a good insight lore wise into Pre-War America and the annexation of Canada. [link] [comments] |
