Who is your favorite fallout character from the fallout series?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 05:24 PM PST

Gotta say mine has to be Ishmael Ashur from the Pitt DLC of fallout 3. My reasoning is because everything involving him is one of the best moral dilemmas in the game.

Originating as a brotherhood of steel member and turning into a leader of an entire city after scouring Pittsburgh and burning it to the ground and rebuilding is awesome development.

Without spoiling the entire plot of the Pitt in case anyone hasn't played it, the rise to power of someone who can't really be considered a full villain makes his character very deep and makes playing the pitt a moral dilemma and I love that.

One of my favorite dlcs in a fallout and my hands down favorite character.

What are your opinions? Who is your favorite character in any of the fallout games? Why?

Would you be interested in playing as a ghoul, supermutant, gen 2.5 synth (like Valentine), numen, mole miner, etc. in FO5?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 07:46 PM PST

Introducing a species choice, like is present in Elder Scrolls games, would make each playthrough more unique. Each species would have unique pros and cons to it (e.g. different skills, possibly natural SPECIAL mins and maxes, species-specific armor, etc) as well as leading to unique situations (e.g. humans treating you differently because they hate ghouls, super mutants being more willing to chat, trade, and send you on quests because you're a super mutant too, etc.).

Personally, I think this could be an interesting addition to the series.

I’m getting into fallout new Vegas

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 08:44 PM PST

I'm getting into the game and I'm very puzzled at a certain aspect of the game, and that is the traits. I picked the trait skilled and I don't know how it works. I have two thoughts on how it works and I would like clarification. First option, when I pick the traits after selecting my three skills to boost do all of my skills get a +5 to them. Second option, after a certain level do I get a bonus +5 skill points to spend. Please help me, I am getting very frustrated and I can't sleep.

    Joshua Grahams Voice Actor

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 05:50 AM PST

Warning: Slight Spoilers for Nuka World DLC ahead

So I've been replaying Nuka World in preparation for my 100% Survival save just so I remember where everything is and I got into Bradburtons Vault and when I was talking with him he sounded so familiar but I didn't recognize the voice from the rest of Fallout 4 and then it clicked. Both John Bradburton, prewar immortal businessman, and Joshua Graham, undying Morman war criminal, have the same voice actor. Keith Szarabajka. I didn't realize that some of the previous voice actors had many roles in Fallout 4. Now I'm curious about what other recurring voice actors I've missed?

You know what quest we need more of: Investigations

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 02:37 PM PST

Investigation/Mystery quests have always been among my favorites, and I think we need more of them. Reasons why:

    - Not just making you shoot things, but also not being just a couple of skill checks, require actual effort and thought, and often self-directed and open ended.

-Opportunity for variety of skill or stat checks. Perception to notice clues, Intelligence to deduce things, Charisma to get people to talk with you, Strength to make them talk, Endurance to get drunk with people until they spill the beans, Agility to sneak into places you don't belong, Luck because it's always good to have.

    - Be a fun way to use the camera if they bring it back

You could do reporter stories with it, cop stories, detective stories, spy stories, there are a lot of ways to go with mystery quests, and I think we need more of them.

Why does everyone hate the No Mutants Allowed forums?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 11:50 AM PST

I've been playing FO1/2 lately, and I've used the board a few times. Everyone there is really nice, and they've even get whole sections dedicated to the new games. After hearing horror stories about NMA for the longest time, I'm a bit confused as to why everyone is so nice.

    Fallout 3 can' install GFWL

    Posted: 10 Nov 2020 02:33 AM PST

I got a new pc and I now I need to reinstall everything, including F3. I know that you need GFWL. But for some reason none of the links seem to work and I can't download it. Did microsoft disable it? Also the GFWL Disabler doesn't work either.

Any streamers here? The Fallout community is organizing a global superstream for charity

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 09:29 AM PST

    https://imgur.com/gallery/Xhz3zJf

*mod approved* ATTN STREAMERS: The Fallout community is mobilizing for a global superstream to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital next month, December 14th to the 20th and we're looking for streamers of any Fallout game to take part. Globally we are at 126 streamers and content creators large and small from all continents. I wanted to get us all together regardless of their favorite Fallout game or console because 2020 has been dreadful and it would be great to work together to do something great as one big family under the campaign: Fallout For Hope.

For 58 years, St. Jude's has worked to treat and offer hope to children battling life threatening diseases. Of them, cancer is the second leading cause of death in children ages 1 to 14. 1,190 children under the age of 15 will not live to see 2021.

If interested send me a DM. It doesn't require anything complicated, essentially everyone still streams as normal to their channels, but we all push for the same charity and use a Tiltify overlay that will have everyone's donations together like during QuakeCon At Home. Let's put 2020 to bed by making the lights shine a little brighter for someone.

Finished Fallout 1 for the first time.... [*Spoilers*]

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 11:58 AM PST

Wow! I can't remember ever playing a game that great (outside the Fallout series). Between the plot, the characters, the dialog, etc it was an incredible experience. Had to ditch my first two play-throughs since my first one didn't have enough agility to be effective in combat and the second one I saved after a point of no return. I really had the hang of it on that third try though. Got the water chip within 90 days, and really had a blast now that I was accustomed to the gameplay. The way they subvert the plot is excellent too. I found it so interesting how they sprinkle in a few things about the super mutants here and there, and it becomes this huge conspiracy you uncover as you progress through the second half of the game. I know it's been said before but the Master was a masterfully well done villain as well, and I loved the variety of choices you had to defeat him, as well as when it came to destroying the mutant base. So far I've only played FO3, F:NV and FO4(still halfway through) and while New Vegas has always been my favorite I think Fallout 1 might have it beat. I know that I'm missing a lot of what made it incredible but it was an experience that really blew me away, especially considering it's a 23 year old game. Well, on to Fallout 2!

Coffee in the world of Fallout?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 05:48 PM PST

So I had an interesting thought, today. Given the food preservation practices, pre-war, you would think someone would find a box or tin of vacuum sealed coffee right? I know we see coffee makers in FO3, NV and 4 (I don't have a lot of experience with FO1 or 2) as well as coffee cups and the like, but I don't remember seeing any direct reference to it or finding it. Granted, I know a lot of attention is paid to Nuka Cola as being an obvious parallel to our world's Coca Cola, but I never considered the absence of coffee or tea for that matter. I would think someone would have made some kind of herbal tea-like beverage from mutated plants or the like. What do you guys think? Am I missing something? What are your thoughts?

[Fallout 4]Why are my weapons just increasing in damage?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 09:27 PM PST

I got this combat shotgun and when I first got it it did around 80 damage, now it does 104. Is this normal? This is my second playthrough in like 5 years so forgive me if I'm forgetting something. The mods I have installed are: Unofficial fallout 4 patch, improved map, RAW INPUT, Smokeable cigars, drinking water, personal sleeping bag, craftable ammo, chinese stealth suit, and amazing followers tweaks. I don't think any of these mods would affect gun damage but I thought i'd throw them out there since some mod creators like to add random ass shit for some reason.

Would earlier versions of Power Armor resemble riot gear/roman armor?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 08:04 PM PST

In the main fallout games, there are roughly 4 sets of Power Armor (excluding X-01) created by the pre-war government for military purposes, all of which focus on a knight motif. What I am suggesting however is that what if earlier sets were created for more (actual) civilian policing purposes, with light armor and riot based tactics in mind. The set in mind wouldn't require as much training as later sets would and wouldn't provide as much protection as a T-45, but would be just as competent in its job. Going back to the Knight motif, much like European armors, the further along the set would be the sleeker and more advanced it would be, and vice versa. So wouldn't make sense that some of the earlier versions of PA would be paralleled by their much older European counterparts?

    Sim Settlements 2 Question

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 11:41 PM PST

Just curious if sim Settlements 2 still supports the option for the settlements to run themselves, I don't really enjoy settlements personally and I had the rise of the commonwealth installed so I could set a settlement leader to do all the "work" for me, just wondering if I should switch to sim Settlements 2 and I don't want to if I can't do that

    Thanks for any responses

    FO3/FNV Performance on Next-Gen?

    Posted: 09 Nov 2020 10:49 PM PST

I love both Fallout 3 and New Vegas and have been wanting to go back and play them lately. I've always had a PlayStation and never owned an Xbox.

Popped in New Vegas the other day on my old PS3. Within the first quest, the game was starting to lag. A few more quests in, and the lag got much worse. Already having some audio that cuts in and out. Now can barely play at all without the game freezing.

Tried Fallout 3 for the hell of it next, same issue...

I have a PS4 as well, but my internet isn't ridiculously fast, so I don't see PSNow working out.

My question is, is there a noticeable difference between playing these games one the Xbox One vs the 360 or PS3 versions?
